Chevrolet Corvette Zr1 Coupe 2-door on 2040-cars
Saint Louis, Missouri, United States
I am listing this car for a friend of mine. The car is a 2 owner car and was purchsed new here in Springfield Mo at the local Chevy dealer. The car is kept inside of course and is drove in nice wether when he has time to enjoy it. He has a few other classic cars and is going to down size his collection some. He is not in a spot where he has to sale the car but will listen to resonable offers. The car is breathe taking in every way you can think of. Below is some basic info on 2009 Corvette line up including the ZR1 with a LS9 set up. The car is loaded with great options and speaks for itself. America's sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette, enters 2009 with even more to like. In addition to the base coupe and convertible and the previously top-of-the-line Z06, power-hungry shoppers now have the ZR1 to consider. The ZR1 name returns after a long layoff, and with it comes serious performance. The car comes as a coupe only and is powered by an Eaton supercharged and intercooled 6.2L V8 (the LS9), which makes 638-hp and 604 ft-lb of torque, all of which is capable of propelling the car to a claimed top speed of 205 mph. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard. Also included in the ZR1 package are larger wheels and tires (19 inches front, 20 inches rear), Brembo ceramic composite brakes, and carbon fiber panels for the roof, front splitter, rocker moldings, front fenders and hood (with a window to the supercharger). Quite simply, the ZR1 is the biggest, baddest production Corvette ever built. Elsewhere in the Corvette family, the base model is available in both coupe or convertible forms. Each is powered by a 6.2L aluminum-block V8, delivering 430 hp and 424 ft-lb of torque. It can be matched with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed automatic with paddle-shifters. Convertible tops can be operated either manually or electronically, depending on equipment. A two-mode exhaust system allows quiet operation during low-speed driving, but opens up to optimize performance (and provide a more aggressive sound) when needed. The Corvette comes with three suspension choices, which allow it to be everything from a comfortable grand-tourer to an edgy, track-ready machine. The standard suspension is tuned for a balance of comfort and performance. Next up is the Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension, which uses sophisticated electronics and magnetically reactive fluid-filled dampers to provide a comfortable ride but tighten its responses when needed. At the top is the Z51 Performance Package, which brings the most aggressive setup, including larger stabilizer bars, Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMT tires, cross-drilled brake rotors and enhanced cooling. A 6-speed manual is the only transmission available. The 3,100-lb Corvette Z06, now displaced by the ZR1 as top dog, is still no slouch, with performance that bests many exotics costing several times as much. Its 7.0L V8 LS7 engine makes 505 hp and 470 ft-lb of torque, enough to propel the car to 60 mph in only 3.7 seconds, reach 198 mph, brake from 60 mph in only 111 feet, and draw a maximum lateral acceleration of 1.04 g.Traction control and Active Handling stability control are standard on all Corvettes, as are air conditioning, cruise control, Head-Up Display, one year of OnStar, a CD stereo system, and XM satellite radio with steering-wheel controls. I have a link with over 50 pictures of the car and the Sheet with the brake down of all the codes for how the car was built with what options to help answer any questions Please ask any and all questions via email because I am often outside of US with business.

Recharge Wrap-up: Detroit Electric teaser video, Nissan Leaf is Good Housekeeping "Tried and Tested"
Mon, Oct 20 2014Detroit Electric has a new teaser video and has updated its brand in preparation of the introduction of the SP:01. The refreshed logo uses a blue and white color palette, and the company has also given its website a new look. The teaser video, which gives a sneak peek at the exterior of the SP:01, shows the car taking form in the midst of an electrical storm. Watch the video or learn more in the press release below. Abengoa is celebrating the grand opening of a commercial scale cellulosic ethanol plant in Hugoton, KS. When running at full scale, the refinery will produce up to 25 million gallons of ethanol a year. The plant will also generate enough electricity to power itself and put some back into the grid. Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz was on hand for the dedication, saying, "Every gallon of cellulosic ethanol produced and used to fuel our vehicles reduces the impact of harmful greenhouse gas emissions by greater than 60 percent as compared to conventional gasoline." Learn more at Energy.gov. Good Housekeeping has named the Nissan Leaf one of its "Tried and Tested" vehicles. The magazine called the Leaf SL its top "Roomy Electric" vehicle in its November issue. The magazine's research institute evaluated the EV based on track and road driving, ergonomics and convenience features. Good Housekeeping made note of the car's "impressive" range, but according to Nissan's Fred Diaz, "the real beauty of the Nissan Leaf is that it's roomy and, best of all, fun to drive." It uses things like grains leftover from brewing Budweiser, food waste from a baseball stadium and sewage sludge to produce the gas through anaerobic digestion. The compressed gas can then be used to power cars like Chevrolet's Bi-fuel Impala, which goes on sale later this year. Chevrolet likens the situation to the Delorean time machine in the Back To The Future movie series, which uses garbage to fuel its fusion generator. Here's why automakers roll out those Texas-themed pickup trucks
Thu, Sep 29 2016Every year, automakers with a full-size truck link make a big show of the Texas State Fair, usually involving a reveal of a new model. Sometimes they show a whole new truck, and other times a special edition centered on the Lone Star state. While some people might write this off as a quirk of the industry, others might be wondering, "What's the big deal with Texas?" As it turns out, part of the big deal with Texas is big truck sales. According to Dave Sullivan, product analysis manager at AutoPacific, Texas buys more trucks than any other state in the country. It's not a small margin either. Edmunds.com, one in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. The state also accounts for 15 percent of the country's large truck sales, which is more than twice that of California, the second largest truck market in America. Even when you break down sales only in Texas, trucks are a huge piece of the pie - Sullivan says that a quarter of new vehicle sales in Texas are trucks. One in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. But it's not just sales that make truck builders give attention to Texas. As Sullivan explained, "Pickups are life in Texas." Both he and Hugh Milne, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevy Silverado line, said that trucks are key fixtures in Texas society, as both work trucks and luxury vehicles (or Texas Cadillacs as Milne called them). Milne said Texas is so important in the truck market that if you want to be successful in the rest of the country, "you've got to be successful in Texas." As for the State Fair, it has become a prime location for reveals in part because of the importance of the Texas market and because of how big the fair is. Milne also revealed that the State Fair also hosts its own auto show, so it's an ideal venue for a vehicle introduction. So there you have it. Why do truck builders obsess over Texas? It's because Texas obsesses over trucks. When you have one market that loves your product that much, you give it the attention it deserves. It also features vehicle-to-grid technology and direct power capability, allowing it to function as a mobile power station. ZEUS customers enjoy an eight-year/300,000-mile battery warranty and round-the-clock technical support from Phoenix. Phoenix launched an electric passenger shuttle last year, and years ago worked on an electric sport utility truck before shifting over to larger vehicles. Read more in the press release from Phoenix Cars. A man found that he used less gas by trading in his Mitsubishi i-MiEV for a Chevrolet Volt. Ben Rich saved fuel in part by using his Volt for road trips rather than needing to rent cars. Rich also found other benefits to driving a Volt, including more comfort, more freedom of movement and less range anxiety. Rich often had to turn off the heat in the winter to eke out precious miles in the Mitsubishi, which he needn't do in the Chevy, though he did have a gripe about the Volt using the gas motor to warm the car. ChargePoint has tallied over 9 million charging sessions for a total of 65 gigawatt hours of energy. Based on national efficiency averages of three miles per kWh and 23.9 miles per gallon, this has saved 8.2 million gallons of gasoline and 60 million pounds of CO2. This accounts for what ChargePoint calls a "huge environmental impact." Read more in the release from ChargePoint below. The Environmental Impact of ChargePoint Drivers Campbell, Calif.– We all know electric vehicles (EV) have enormous environmental advantages over gas vehicles. Plug-in EVs reduce carbon-based greenhouse gases, improve air quality and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. EV drivers on the ChargePoint network have had a huge environmental impact.
