Chevrolet: Corvette 3lz Package on 2040-cars
Buckley, Washington, United States
The time has come to sell my beautiful toy. Between getting a divorce, working out of town 4 days a week and having my son every other weekend, I do not have the time to enjoy my baby any more. There has been a lot of work that has gone into the car to make it an immaculate outstanding vehicle that was built to last. There is a HUD (heads up display) on the car. The car has an upgraded Monster clutch that will support up to 1,000HP. West Coast Corvette stage 2 heads (fixes the valve guide problem the stock LS7 faces and saves anyone buying a stock Z06 about 4,000 to 6,000 dollars). Ragin Racing Stalker camshaft (not huge so drivability is amazing while still giving an aggressive sound), Manily double valve springs, ARP head bolts, new GM rockers with low miles, K&N cold air intake. Also have recently added ARH (american racing headers) 1 7/8 headers (+$1800), and a B&B bullet exhaust system (+1500) that gives the car a very aggressive sound. The motor was professionally tuned and DYNOd at 580 WHP. If you are looking for something a little more quiet and reserved, this is not the car for you. Being straight up so you cant say I didnt warn you. This car turns heads everywhere it goes. Many times have I been driving along and someone pull up beside me with their camera out giving me the punch it symbol. I will also be giving the buyer the car cover I bought for the car (incase you need to go somewhere that you cant put it in a garage), and the extra set of tires (drag radials) I have for the car that have approximately 50% tread left. I am in no hurry to sell this car and by no means Have to sell this car, so I am not looking to give someone a deal of a lifetime. The car is priced very reasonable for all it has done to it and with the fact that the buyer wont immediately have to drop between 4 and 6 thousand dollars fixing the valve guide issues LS7s have that notoriously turn a motor into a 17,000 dollar paperweight. Please do your research on the LS7 valve guides if you do not have any idea what I am talking about.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car
Wed, 20 Feb 2013We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....
