2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Convertible~ 130 Original Miles~ Pick up this dream machine where the current and only owner unfortunately has to leave off. I am listing this car for a good friend, a Corvette enthusiast, and a real "Car Guy". Bob ordered this car, his dream Corvette, from MacMulkin Chevrolet, the 2nd largest Corvette dealer in the USA. No expense was spared with this Corvette. As a seasoned Corvette veteran he knew what combination would make this car be the best. Finished in Black over Ebony leather and suede, with a matching Black top and silver body stripes. With only 130 miles, this car is obviously still under its factory GM warranty, with power train coverage up to 100k miles! Fully loaded!! The Grand Sport Package comes with loads of standard options like Run Flat Tires, Active Handling, and a 6.2 Liter LS3 V8! But on top of the standard vehicle price of $59,600, added options total almost $13,000! They include, Grand Sport Heritage Package (Logo Seat Headrest Embroidery, Fender Stripe Hash Mark Design) $1,195.00 - 3LT Preferred Equipment Group (Memory Package, Sport Seats w/ Power Bolster and Lumbar, Cargo net, Power Convertible Top, Heated Seats, Tilt and Telescoping Steering, Navigation System, Bose Premium Sound with 9 Speakers, Universal Home Remote, Bluetooth For Phone, Heads Up Display) $7,995 - Chrome Aluminum Wheels $1,995 - Exhaust, Dual-Mode Performance $1,195 - ZR1 Rear Spoiler $350 - Battery Protection Package $100. Added a $995 Destination Charge this car listed for $73,425 New!! No Cost spared on this Gorgeous Car!!! In the photos you will also notice the optional trunk liner that really finished the trunk off nicely! This car is truly Brand New. It was bought as an investment, but due to health it must be sold. This is the deal of the year if you are looking for a "New" Corvette, and want to save a lot of money. This beautiful car is ready to be driven and enjoyed!! Has never seen rain, and always kept in a climate controlled garage. The new owner of this Corvette is truly getting an amazing automobile at an unbelievable value!! I have sold a few vintage Corvettes for Bob over the years as he has slowly thinned his collection. This car is being sold due to health, and is not a fire sale. We are looking for a serious individual who is in search of his dream machine. Some things to note- At the sale of the vehicle, a non-refundable $1000 deposit is due within 24 hours, the balance to be paid within 7 days. We are not a bank, so please make sure you have the funds to back your purchase. Also we are not marriage counselors. Please talk to your significant other if needed in order to make this transaction smooth for you. The car can be seen in person in Billerica, MA. You may contact BOB D. The owner at 978-987-7577 with any questions. Please keep in mind we are in the eastern time zone, please limit phone call between the hours of 8am and 8pm EST. The car will be delivered to the new owner with under 200 miles. Should you want to make travel arrangements to come see the car in person, we would be happy to pick you up at Boston Logan Air port. This car is absolutely new, and will not disappoint! Please see the attached 100+ photos below!! Thank you! photo image_zps9626c29d.jpg photo image_zps4f42c933.jpg photo image_zps44f5f8ec.jpg photo image_zps8342c73b.jpg photo image_zpsaac11232.jpg photo image_zps95aa454a.jpg photo image_zps8640e3af.jpg photo image_zps464a4a9e.jpg photo image_zpsc59816ae.jpg photo image_zps98240b5a.jpg photo image_zpsb82c3c8d.jpg photo image_zps22106690.jpg photo image_zps36938506.jpg photo image_zpsc5ffbb6b.jpg photo image_zps2a9bcb48.jpg photo image_zps28e76548.jpg photo image_zps387c16bf.jpg photo image_zps4605d27b.jpg photo image_zpsfc0688a3.jpg photo image_zps601e31c7.jpg photo image_zpse4d352fc.jpg photo image_zpsfcffa645.jpg photo image_zps2be47c0f.jpg photo image_zpsf7c0bf36.jpg photo image_zps26377b6b.jpg photo image_zpsa0329d04.jpg photo image_zpsc8bc6417.jpg photo image_zpsed7558a0.jpg photo image_zpsf83e2797.jpg photo image_zps295e64cd.jpg photo image_zps5b35a79f.jpg photo image_zpse8c83764.jpg photo image_zps246245a3.jpg photo image_zps19ba074d.jpg photo image_zps31471c15.jpg photo image_zps64264252.jpg photo image_zps5f250015.jpg photo image_zps0c669149.jpg photo image_zps0dec36d9.jpg photo image_zpseeafdadf.jpg photo image_zps5ad9f97a.jpg photo image_zps9960150c.jpg photo image_zpsd2d53a73.jpg photo image_zps22d16e74.jpg photo image_zps6a813bbf.jpg photo image_zps8a30d9a2.jpg photo image_zpsd26e55f6.jpg photo image_zpsa6bdccc2.jpg photo image_zps02f4b92a.jpg photo image_zps0de5a0dd.jpg photo image_zps401aa8a6.jpg photo image_zps609c1845.jpg photo image_zpsa7682962.jpg photo image_zpsf121098f.jpg photo image_zpsa11f0acc.jpg photo image_zpsd13f4cdc.jpg photo image_zpsc1015f6a.jpg photo image_zpsd46a8e06.jpg photo image_zps68a1fedc.jpg photo image_zps194215d9.jpg photo image_zps30a32812.jpg photo image_zps290c74dd.jpg photo image_zps89e0e45d.jpg photo image_zpsa4e83656.jpg photo image_zps0edaa7fd.jpg photo image_zpsa6be23e8.jpg photo image_zps64f38b24.jpg photo image_zpsfb058239.jpg photo image_zps5a96b278.jpg photo image_zps99dff0e4.jpg photo image_zpsa8fc52c3.jpg photo image_zps78c71db7.jpg photo image_zpsb7c2d4ab.jpg photo image_zps2fc5f27d.jpg photo image_zps2624febd.jpg photo image_zpscbcb9a90.jpg photo image_zpsc60dfc0c.jpg photo image_zpsdef82958.jpg photo image_zpsc4e336d0.jpg photo image_zpsed6cafa2.jpg photo image_zps67c2b6a0.jpg photo image_zps98389133.jpg photo image_zps2b1275ff.jpg photo image_zps578ce26d.jpg photo image_zps758d7cf1.jpg photo image_zpse400e936.jpg photo image_zps8aa981b1.jpg photo image_zpsacead0b2.jpg photo image_zps239cfd76.jpg photo image_zps3d847dae.jpg photo image_zps05bfd756.jpg photo image_zpse316b835.jpg photo image_zpsb2f24601.jpg photo image_zpsba209b90.jpg photo image_zps681c69d3.jpg photo image_zps4baadf0b.jpg photo image_zps7819b890.jpg photo image_zps64cafba5.jpg photo image_zps451645bb.jpg photo image_zps5bc7979c.jpg photo image_zps125afb44.jpg photo image_zps02afe3bd.jpg photo image_zps09dedeb1.jpg photo image_zpsbbe0bde9.jpg photo image_zps256aba82.jpg photo image_zps930466d0.jpg photo image_zpsb681ec88.jpg photo image_zpsb1e4fa14.jpg

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 [w/videos]

Wed, Jan 7 2015

I think I was supposed to be back hours ago. Driving northwest on State Road 190 with a final destination deep in the heart of the Death Valley National Park, it occurs to me that I might have agreed to return after an hour or so, instead of the four I'll end up stealing, solo, in the new Z06. Somewhere in the combination of mountain vistas, arching, speed-hungry desert roads, and the sound of this titanic engine on a constant run up the rev ladder, I forgot everything I'd promised back at home base. The generous, civilized part of me worries for a moment that absconding with the new-best Corvette might have left one of my fellow journalists without a car. But the selfish part of me – the part largely in control of the rocket-launcher of a throttle under my right foot – says "screw it." I spent two days with the 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06, a monster of a sports car that will soon be dominating track days everywhere, and I never once was inclined to share it. Hurtling through the shattered stillness of the desert and pulling big Gs at Spring Mountain circuit, I never felt overly disposed to give up my seat. This Corvette, more than any I've yet driven, was deep enough to hold my attention; for two days, for two years, probably. With this Z06, the Corvette steps over the amazing-for-the-price category, and solidly into the best-cars-in-the-world zone. There are peripheral elements that remind me of its blue collar, Bowtie heritage, sure, but there's more that simply begs me to carry on driving... faster. Most casual car observers will be able to pick the 2015 Z06 out from its less aggressive Stingray brothers. Subtler hints include a new, more open grille, larger extractor on the taller hood and rather discreet badges on the flanks of the car. More outrageous is the finned spoiler on the rear trunk lid, and the widebody look offered from flared fenders – an extra 1.57 inches (40 millimeters) at their beefiest point. Even driving around performance-car-laden Pahrump, NV – loaded thanks to the very active community at the Spring Mountain racing resort – members of the local populace were turning heads, waving and generally noting the Z06 with approval when I drove through town. In Torch Red over black painted aluminum wheels, staggered at 19-inches in front and 20 at the back, the amped-up Z06 hits a new level of road presence for the C7.

Junkyard Gem: 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum Sport Coupe

Wed, Aug 23 2023

Before General Motors created the Geo brand for cars built or designed by its overseas partners, the Chevrolet Division put its badges on U.S.-market versions of the Toyota Corolla Sprinter, the Suzuki Cultus and the Isuzu Gemini. Those cars were known as the Nova, the Sprint and the Spectrum, and all became Geos starting with the 1989 model year. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of the last Chevy Spectrums ever sold, found in a Denver self-service yard a few months ago. Midway through 1988, the Chevrolet Spectrum abruptly became the Geo Spectrum and was assigned to the 1989 model year. This car was built in May 1988, making it one of the very last of the pre-Geo Spectrums. The Chevrolet/Geo Spectrum was available as a four-door sedan and as a three-door hatchback, from the 1985 through 1989 model years. For 1988 only, a Spectrum Sport Coupe package, featuring some trim upgrades and these rad decals, could be had on the hatchback. This car was essentially identical to its Isuzu-badged counterpart, the I-Mark. In 1988, the MSRP for the cheapest possible Chevy Spectrum hatchback (the stripped-down Spectrum Express) was $6,495, while its somewhat better-equipped I-Mark twin started at $7,439 (that's $17,128 and $19,617 in 2023 dollars). Meanwhile, the base Hyundai Excel hatchback listed at $5,295 and the Yugo GV cost a hilarious $4,199 ($13,963 and $10,941 in today's money). Power came from this 1.5-liter SOHC four-cylinder, rated at 70 horsepower. A turbocharged version with 110 horsepower was available as well. You could get an automatic transmission in the Spectrum, but this car has the base five-speed manual. This car didn't get the optional air conditioning, but at least it has the traditional Isuzu HVAC control icons featuring blow-dried hair and high-heeled dominatrix boots. Just over 170,000 miles on the odometer. Someone installed a pretty good (for the 1980s) Blaupunkt Charlotte CR148 cassette deck in the dash. This was a necessity if you wanted to enjoy full appreciation of the music of the era. The Spectrum is special! It's as slick as city rain. "I didn't spend a lot of money but with my Spectrum it looks like I did." Joe Isuzu mocked Toyota salesmen when pitching the I-Mark. As was nearly always the case during the 1980s, the JDM ads for the same car were much more fun. They should have recreated this commercial with Spectrums.

Next-gen Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra may use carbon fiber

Thu, Dec 7 2017

It's been generally accepted that the next generation of full-size GM trucks will use some sort of strong, lightweight material for the beds while retaining steel for the cab. While aluminum seems like the most obvious choice, according to Automotive News, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will incorporate both aluminum and carbon fiber in their beds. The publication cites sources from within GM, though it seems the introduction of this comparatively exotic material mix is still a few years off. While carbon fiber is both stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, it takes significantly more time and money to produce, essentially relegating the material to small-volume cars. The main benefit for trucks is the resulting reduction in weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing the tough, rugged capabilities truck buyers expect. The Ford F-150 made the switch to aluminum for the 2015 model year and it's proved highly successful. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the competition followed suit. Automotive News says that the next-gen trucks will launch with aluminum beds and that it will take a couple of years before we'll see any carbon fiber incorporated into the design. Even then, only look for the composite material on higher-trim models, with a trickle down to lower-spec trucks possible further in the future. In 2011, GM announced it was working with Japan-based Teijin Limited on a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic. There's a good chance that material's introduction will be on trucks.
