2012 - Chevrolet Corvette on 2040-cars
North Augusta, South Carolina, United States
This car is a stock 2012 Z06 (3LZ) with the Z07 package. It also has the Carbon Fiber package which includes carbon fiber splitter and side skirts, carbon fiber roof, and carbon fiber hood. It also has the track package and adjustable suspension. The carbon ceramic brakes are some of the best made. It will stop on a dime, almost literally. It is about as fully loaded as you can buy. The original MSRP was over $100k. This is not just any corvette, but if you are looking at it then you probably already know that. This car is absolutely beautiful inside and out. It is a blast to drive and does not compare to anything else. Everything mechanical on the car is in excellent condition. The clutch and transmission are easily the best I have ever driven. The car is in excellent condition on the inside. The paint is in good condition. There are a few rock chips on the car, but that is to be expected with the mileage. The rear tires are new 345/25/20 Nitto Invo's. The front tires are 285/30/19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup's. The tread on the rears is better than the front because they are newer, but both have plenty left. The car has never been tracked or raced. Garage kept. I am the second owner of the car and I bought it with 29k miles. The current mileage is a result of several 500+ mile trips to Alabama. I did not buy the car to let it sit in the garage. The driver side seat belt tensioner was replaced under warranty. The oil has been changed 3 times since I have owned it. Other than that, I have just washed it and cleaned the interior regularly. I am selling it because that is what I do. I buy a car and drive it for a little while then sell it and move on to something else. I think I am trying to own every sports car there is and I am well on my way!

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega
Sat, 19 Oct 2013Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.
Next Chevy Volt will be 2016 model and ride on new chassis
Fri, Mar 7 2014What do we know about the 2016 Chevy Volt? Well, for now, all we can do is try to put the puzzle together without the box. Thankfully, a new batch of pieces has arrived from a new report in Edmunds, which says that the 2016 model year will introduce the second generation of a car that hasn't been dramatically updated since it went on sale in 2010. The new Volt is getting an "evolutionary styling change" and will ride on a new front-drive platform that has been developed by General Motors. GM's Kevin Kelly told AutoblogGreen that he has "no comment on future products," but he did acknowledge that Chevrolet is working on a second-generation Volt, "but I can't say anything about timing." Everybody already knew that a next-gen Volt is coming, so that's not a surprise. What we don't know is any real concrete information on the car itself. The few tidbits of information we do have help define the outlines of the next version of Chevy's halo car, but they're not confirmed yet. For the record, they range from the eye-raising (a $10,000 price drop) to the logical (20 percent more electric range). We can't see the whole picture yet, but the pieces do point to the 2016 Volt, which would be released next year sometime, being a much bigger deal than the last update, when the Volt's range was increased by three electric miles thanks to a battery capacity increase of 16 kWh to 16.5.
First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
