Always kept babied, and in heated garage. Obsessively kept up with maintenance on a strict schedule using the best fluids, and only driven seasonally part time in good weather. NO Accidents. Automatic with on wheel F1 paddleshifters. Has a few aftermarket upgrades. Billy Boat exhaust pipes (beautiful purr), Vararam snake charmer air intake, drilled and slotted rotors from West Coast Corvettes+ ceramic road speed rated pads (wear slow+will never scallop), 10% tints one-piece per glass, smoke acrylic light kit, blk powdercoated OEM alloy rims (light weight, never chip or scratch),blk powdercoated OEM calipers. This car is as black as possible. All matching blacks. The bad: The paint is worn by the road as you would expect a 50,000 mile vehicle to be. There are some small scratches on the passenger seat bottom. The pipe tips have some cracking around the rim. 2 acrylic covers w imperfections"

Great condition

One-owner
NO accidents
Always kept babied inside a heated garage.
Obsessively kept up with maintenance on a strict schedule using the best fluids.
Driven seasonally part time in good weather.
Automatic with on wheel F1 paddleshifters give you the best of both worlds. Convenient automatic for times of traffic or conversation, and racetrack ready performance upon request immediately paddle-shifting in speed mode.
A few aftermarket upgrades:
Billy Boat exhaust pipes with a beautiful purr
Vararam snake charmer air intake
Z51 drilled and slotted rotors from West Coast Corvettes (W.C.C.)
Ceramic road speed rated pads (will never scallop+wear extremely slow)
50% Firehawk RunFlat tires which wear the slowest of any speed rated tire at OEM size
W.C.C. smoke acrylic light kit ( 2 of which are in rough shape. Passenger side front cracked on a hot day in the center so you can see a small crack of light at night. Passenger Rear reacted to a soap I used and became more opaque-ish. $45 to replace the 2 of them, or they are two side 3m taped on, so you can pull them right off if you wish without any risk)
W.C.C. clear blinker bulb (removes ugly amber appearance)
Black powdercoated OEM alloy C6 corvette rims (light weight, never chip or scratch)
Black powdercoated OEM calipers.
Extremely high average MPG (in the vehicle's dash information) in comparison to most other corvettes exemplifies that the car was driven smoothly and carefully, and may indicate mostly highway miles (which I know to usually be a nonsense claim that is quite unprovable) however it seems with newer cars there is actually a way to prove it.
This car is as black as possible with all matching blacks. This is all done immaculately and professionally, and looks like it came that way from the dealership other than the two iffy smoke covers. This car is a head turner 24/7, and everyone loves it so much that they will tell you. Has a clean exotic look that stock vettes can not compare to.
Here are the problems: (Pictures of problems added by Friday Sept.20 @ 2 pm + additional picture and video available on request)
Paint has the normal wear of a 50k mile vehicle
A few small scratches on passenger leather seat bottom
Some cracking on the tips of the aftermarket pipes around the rim of the edge. (I have the OEM pipes with 9000 miles on them, and they are free if you pay to ship them or pick up in person)
I am available to answer any questions, just text/call 798.o8o8 areacode 860. This vehicle is absolutely gorgeous, and I would not sell it if I were not about to buy a home for my family and I. I hope it brings you the joy it has to me, this is a great looking vehicle that runs perfect. Literally nothing has ever had to be replaced that does not wear naturally. I also have an optional set of used chrome OEM corvette rims available for an additional $400 plus you pay shipping or pick up. Like I said, I will field any questions so feel free to ask.
For those wondering why it says "As is": It is because I will not take returns. Once it is out of my possession, it is yours for good. This has no scheme oriented angle, just a means to prevent myself from potential schemery. Video will be taken before delivery of all parts, components, and functions. Other precautions will also be taken to ensure a successful and mutually fulfilling exchange.
For those wondering why it is a dealership car, the title is in the name of a family dealership I work at, however this vehicle is and always has been my personal vehicle since purchase in 2007, and I have been the only one who has driven it since then.
Here are some examples of how much I have babied this car. One, If there is construction, no matter what I turn around and find another way. Two, I put a high quality car cover over it in the garage when it is not used (sorry that is not going with the vehicle). Three, I stay far behind 18 wheelers and then pass quickly to avoid any debris firing from the tires. Four, I clean the car before it is covered to avoid the cover potentially causing scratches. Five, I only hand clean the car with high quality soap and microfiber towels, and any waxing etc is done by hired perfectly-reviewed professionals. Well you get the picture. Again, any questions get in touch with me please.
I know I have not sold a car on this account before, or anything for that matter, but I guarantee a smooth and amicable transaction.

LG Chem's troubled Chevy Volt battery plant hiring once again

Thu, Sep 25 2014

The Michigan battery plant known for paying its workers to do nothing has turned things around and is now hiring more workers, specifically to do something. South Korea-based LG Chem, which runs the factory to supply the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle with its lithium-ion batteries, held a job fair recently to bring on 40 new employees in order to meet higher battery demand, according to WZZM, the ABC affiliate for Grand Rapids, MI. The LG Chem factory is in Holland, MI, about 30 miles west of Grand Rapids, and it made its first batteries last year. Prior to that, though, the factory gained notoriety after a US Department of Energy (DOE) probe found that workers there were getting paid to do, well, nothing. That's because demand for the battery packs was so low that it cost less for the plant to sit idle. The DOE was conducting the probe because of its financial grant to LG Chem. But that was then and today is today. LG Chem is looking to ramp up production in advance of the second-generation Volt. That 2016 model-year version is said to have a longer all-electric range and better performance and will ride on a new chassis, but few official details have surfaced. We will know more when we get our first look at the car at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes

Wed, Feb 19 2014

There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.
