1 of only 352 built in this color in 2001 This car has the all black interior. Some of the 352 produced came with a two tone red and black interior. This one is ALL BLACK.
I am the fourth owner of the car. The car has a clean clear CARFAX.
The car has a stock drive train with no modifications to the engine, transmission or rear end. The car has an upgraded COLD AIR INTAKE made by VARARAM. The exhaust has a custom X pipe between the stock headers and stock cat back mufflers which are made of Titanium.
The car has upgraded drilled and slotted rotors for brakes. The car has custom CHROME C6Z06 wheels. The wheels are all 18 inch but wider widths than stock. The tires are stock Z06 sizes and only have 2500 miles on them. The extra width rims do not stick out past the wheel wells.
The car has custom chrome upgrades on the engine such as chrome cap covers and intake cover. All the chrome upgrades can be removed. There is a pair of custom stainless steel hoops placed behind each seat as replica roll bars. These roll bars are NOT functional. They are only for ESTHETICS. The car has stainless steel lettered inserts both front and rear. The car also has stainless steel screens both in the front brake cooling ducts, the cove area in the front fender and on the rear at the bottom of the bumper.
The first owner of the car had a personalized checkered design painted in the cove area. The car has body side moldings as an added feature.
The car has upgraded low beam headlights to an HID unit for better and safe visibility at night. The high beams remain stock units. The car has an upgraded stereo system with an added bass speaker in the rear compartment but uses the stock BOSE head unit and speakers in the cabin area. The car also has a compartment divider as well.
The car recently passed ALL Arizona State emissions. There are no issues with the car. No check engine lights or ABS or any warnings lights.
The car drives straight, steers straight and brakes straight. THERE ARE NO LEAKS UNDER OR ANYWHERE ON THE CAR.
The car recently received a synthetic oil change at 55,000. The transmission fluid was changed at 57,500. The rear end fluid was also changed at 57,500
The car recently had a new clutch from the Corvette C6Z series installed when a pilot bearing needed replaced.
The car comes with a leather bra and leather mirror covers which protect the paint surfaces. The photos show the proof of what a well cared for car this is with minimal stone chip damages. Realize there are the usual stone chips seen on the rocker panels and areas behind the wheels. This is normal wear and tear.
I have both sets of keys with key-fobs. I have service records showing the car had all the issues repaired by GM during it's campaign. This car does NOT burn oil.
I have tried to present this car in it's true form. Please examine all the photos and all buyers are welcome to have the car inspected at their cost. The car is being sold as a USED car and thus it does not come with any warranty either expressed or implied. I do reserve the right to cancel this auction at my discretion due to having the car listed locally.
I have a clean clear ARIZONA TITLE IN HAND. The buyer may pay for the car by either WIRE TRANSFER or CASH and take the car and title with them.
If a Cashier's Check is used, the car and the title will remain in MY possession UNTIL YOUR CASHIER'S CHECK CLEARS MY BANK. No other form of payment is accepted.
Bottom line is, this car is a well maintained, low mileage C5. The car is priced well within the market for a rare Speedway White C5. Own a rare Corvette you can drive and enjoy. Be unique at car shows, car gatherings and club meetings. The classic sharp look in white of this Z06 will retain a higher value over it's life. Drive and enjoy it.

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war
Sun, 30 Dec 2012A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
EcoCar2 is on the hunt for a better, cleaner Chevy Malibu [w/video]
Thu, Jun 12 2014The students spent three years transforming an ordinary Chevy Malibu into a revolutionary vehicle. Not far from the building where General Motors once invented the Chevy Volt, a dozen or so college students are standing on the blacktop alongside a test track, watching a professional driver push the limits of a plug-in hybrid car they've built that's far more radical. These students, from Colorado State University, have spent the past three years transforming an ordinary Chevy Malibu into a revolutionary vehicle. At first glance, it still looks like a regular sedan. But under the hood, they've installed a hybrid powertrain that contains both hydrogen and electric power sources. Even by the standards of the Department of Energy competition they're participating in, it's an outlier. That's exactly what they had in mind. "We didn't want to come here and tell them how to build a better Volt," said Tom Bradley, faculty adviser for the Colorado State team. "They already know how to do that. We can tell them how to think about these possibilities in a whole new way." After three years of work, it all comes down to this. The Colorado State team was one of 15 that came to GM's Milford Proving Grounds last week for the final stretch of the EcoCar2 competition, which challenges regular college students who have no automotive experience to do nothing less than reinvent the American car. The teams have come from across North America, and include schools like Ohio State and Virginia Tech that have a long history of participating in similar competitions, and schools like the University of Washington and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University that are here for the first time. After three years of work, it all comes down to this. The teams have operated 24 hours a day for almost two weeks here at the Proving Grounds, running a gamut of tests that include a 310-point safety inspection, emissions and energy-consumption tests and road tests, in which professional GM drivers ensure they're road worthy. The winning team will be announced tonight in Washington D.C. Revolutionary cars, ordinary package While other green-car competitions encourage extreme designs, this one comes with a somewhat constraining twist: Yes, students must improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, but in the end, they still have to have a car that would appeal to mainstream customers. In practical terms, that means they must keep conveniences like air conditioning and trunk space.
The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
