Being Sold At NO RESERVE
This Corvette belongs to a customer of mine, and due to spending most of his time overseas, he has decided to sell his car. When he asked me what I thought he should sell it for, I told him I didn't know, and why don't we try a NO RESERVE auction. He agreed, so in 7 days, we will know if that was a good idea or not. The bidding will start at $5000, and the high bidder will become the owner of this car. Please...SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY. Bidders with zero feedback will need to text, call, or write me or your bids will be canceled. The car is being listed to be sold.
The car runs and drives excellently. The upgraded exhaust sounds awesome, but isn't too loud. It's just a little throatier than the stock exhaust. The tires still have plenty of tread on them, the serpentine belt and tensioner where changed about 30 miles ago. The rear brakes and rotors were replaced 10 miles ago. The new owner only needs to put gas in it and go. With only 78,000 miles on it, you should have many years and trouble-free miles with it.
The only flaws worth mentioning are : driver's side seat bolster worn from getting in and out of it, typical with most every Corvette. The glove compartment latch is broken, but still works. One of the tire pressure monitors reads a little off...so when the tire is correctly inflated, it still shows it's about 5 psi off. The Z06 wheels have the normal pitting and flaking associated with aftermarket wheels. Other than that, it's pretty nice. As you can see in the photos, the paint still looks great, the interior looks great, and the top isn't torn and doesn't have any stitching coming undone.
Mechanically, it doesn't need anything. The normal wear and tear items have been replaced, so there's nothing really to do but enjoy the car. You can fly into Florida and drive it home. If you want to ship it, I can usually help. If you're the winning bidder and want me to help with quotes, just let me know.
I have a clean, clear title in hand, ready to hand off to the winner. Florida residents are required to pay sales tax and DMV fees, but there is NOT a dealer fee or any mark-ups of any kind. Winning bid, sales tax, actual DMV fees, and you're on the road. Out of state winners will get the title, Bill of Sale, and anything you may need to register in your home state. Dealers are welcome to bid, and you will get a Wholesale Purchase Order once you've given me a copy of your Dealers License.
Please, serious bidders only. BId to win, honor your bid, and get a triple black Corvette Convertible. I reserve the right to end the auction early in the event I get a serious cash offer. I WILL NOT END THE AUCTION EARLY BECAUSE THE PRICE IS TOO LOW. Good luck, and bid like crazy.

GM puts 3 million miles on hydrogen fuel cell test fleet
Mon, May 12 2014Have General Motors' hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles emitted enough water vapor over the past six-plus years to equal the steam coming out of Old Faithful? Not exactly, but GM has released a few figures related to the Project Driveway initiative it began in 2007. The numbers are impressive, if not quite of the geyser-spouting variety. In all, the General converted 119 Chevrolet Equinox SUVs to run on hydrogen, and those vehicles have just collectively surpassed the 3 million mile mark. And if you were waiting for us to tell you that the distance equals a half-dozen round trips between the earth and the moon, well, there you go. The better news is that the SUVs have combined to save almost 158,000 gallons worth of gas, and some of the vehicles have more than 120,000 miles on them. More than 5,000 drivers have participated in the project. GM reached that landmark about 10 months after it announced that it was working with Honda to accelerate the development of hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain technology. The two companies estimated last summer that it may have something to sell to the public as soon as 2020. For now, you can check out General Motors' press release below. GM Fuel Cell Fleet Tops 3 Million Miles Chevrolet Equinox fuel cell vehicles driven in real world reach milestone DETROIT – General Motors' fleet of fuel cell vehicles recently passed 3 million miles of hydrogen-powered, real-world driving. Some individual vehicles have accumulated more than 120,000 miles. By GM's estimate, using hydrogen to power these vehicles, the fleet has avoided 157,894 gallons of gasoline consumption. This specially equipped fleet of Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell vehicles are part of GM's 119-vehicle Project Driveway program, which launched in 2007. Since then, more than 5,000 drivers have provided feedback on the functionality and drivability of fuel cell technology. "Hydrogen fuel cell technology is an important part of GM's advanced propulsion portfolio and we continue to make substantial progress in furthering this technology," said Charlie Freese, executive director of GM's global fuel cell engineering activities. "These vehicles have operated through seven full winters and a wide range of environmental conditions, proving that fuel cells can meet the demands of real-world drivers." Last year, GM announced two fuel cell-related collaborations.
First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up at just 891 miles
Thu, Jan 1 2015You've waited and watched and waited some more for the arrival of your 650-horsepower, $78,000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, that joyous day arrives and you eagerly, but gingerly, begin to break-in the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 monster under your hood. Then 900-odd miles after delivery, your excitement grinds, quite literally, to a halt. That's what the owner of one 2015 Z06 claimed happened to him when a simple break-in drive resulted in a lunched engine. The owner, known as Lawdogg149 on Corvette Forum, says he was out breaking-in his car ahead of a January track event when it happened. "While making a pull from 35 miles per hour, I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom - the car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. I could hear a loud knock coming from the No. 6 cylinder area along with a serious, grinding, metal-on-metal sound coming from the supercharger area," Lawdogg wrote. A subsequent trip to the dealer confirmed his concerns, with the service facility telling Lawdogg that the No. 6 valvetrain had failed. The dealer couldn't research the issue further, though, as General Motors requested the engine be returned for a more thorough evaluation. The good news for the Z06's unlucky owner, at least, is that GM will be covering the engine replacement under warranty, an expense that Corvette Forum estimates is a nearly $24,000 procedure. At this point, the two leading theories behind the engine's detonation involve a manufacturing defect – which could be why GM is so keen to tear the blown powerplant down – or a mistake on the part of Lawdogg. As Motor Authority points out, such an error could be something as simple as the Z06's owner accidentally shifting to first rather than third during his 35-mph pull. If, however, there's a deeper manufacturing problem with the Z06's engine, this might not be the only case we end up hearing about.
