This Corvette convertible has 11,400 original miles and is Completely serviced. All mechanical fluids have been flushed and replaced within the last two years. The car also has a Complete engine tune up. Recent oil and filter change on 04/01/13 with 11,294 miles. Safety inspection and emissions test passed on 05/24/13. Battery is approx. two years old. Tires replaced at 7,107 miles on the odometer by previous owner. Tires have approx. 4,293 miles wear. The paint is in near perfect condition with only a minor number of hard to find chips and blemishes. This car has no known mechanical problems and everything is in working order as of the date of this listing. The convertible top is in excellent condition. The interior is in excellent condition. The car also has a new fuel pump. I purchased this Corvette from a Dealership approximatly two years ago. I took an over night trip with the car, placed my luggage in the stowage area behind the seats, and under the top with no problem. It was both enjoyable and comfortable. I put about 4,400 miles on the car since owning it. The Auto Check Report tells us that I am the fourth owner. I took a picture of the odometer to show the mileage and the flash reflected in the glass causing the picture to not come out. The enclosed Auto Check Report has recorded the mileage as 11,349 dated 05/24/13. This is also the date of the latest emissions and safety inspection. This car is sold without a guarantee or warranty. I will accept a $500.00 good faith deposit thru Pay Pal. The balance of the payment is to be paid by a CERTIFIED BANK CHECK made payable to me the SELLER. No personal checks will be accepted. GM will make Chevy Volt production announcement tomorrow
Mon, Apr 7 2014Thing are apparently happening to get the next-generation Chevy Volt ready for public consumption. The most obvious proof is in a preview of an announcement (possibly coming tomorrow) that the two main places where General Motors gets the Volt ready -the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant and the Brownstown Township battery assembly facility - will be getting big money upgrades and lots of new positions. The Hamtramck plant builds the Volt and its fancier cousin, the Cadillac ELR, as well as the global versions of the Volt. The Detroit News reports that GM will add 1,400 jobs and spend roughly $450 million at the two locations in order to build the redesigned Volt. What's less clear is exactly what the updates will bring us. We've heard that the new volt will be a 2016 model and come on a new chassis. Speculation in The Detroit News about tomorrow's announcement runs the gamut from a new compact PHEV with less electric range and a lower price (which makes sense) to an updated Volt with more electric range (heard it before) to a new all-electric vehicle (the moon shot). If there's any hints to be gleaned in the international Volts, there are also reports coming in that the Opel brand will get an all-electric vehicle that is cheaper than the Ampera. Read into that what you will. We pestered GM's Kevin Kelly on the new Volt (again) and he said (again) that he couldn't give out any more detail other than what's been reported. He just told AutoblogGreen that there will be an announcement tomorrow and that it will be about the Hamtramck and Brownstown facilities and involve the Volt. So, stay tuned.
GM recalls 64k 2011-2013 Volts over carbon monoxide fears, stop sale on Trax and Encore
Thu, Mar 12 2015General Motors is recalling 50,249 Chevrolet Volts from the 2011-2013 model years in the US and an additional 13,937 exported examples because of fears over carbon monoxide buildup. According to a statement, if a Volt is accidentally left on while running on electric power, its internal combustion engine would eventually kick on to charge on the battery. If this happens in an enclosed space, then carbon monoxide can fill the area, leading to a potential exposure to the dangerous gas. According to GM, there have been two injuries reported due to this issue. To fix the problem, there's a software update to limit the time the vehicle can idle. According to Automotive News, GM is also issuing a stop sale on about 2,300 examples of the 2015 Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore. In these compact crossovers, it's possible that the steering column assembly could touch the power steering circuit board and cause damage over time. This could potentially cause the system to stop working. Automotive News indicates that the automaker is still working with the supplier to get the necessary parts to repair this problem. General Motors is recalling 50,249 Chevrolet Volts in the U.S. from the 2011-2013 model years to implement a software update that will limit the amount of time a vehicle can be left idling in the "on" or "run" position. If a driver exits the vehicle and inadvertently leaves the vehicle "on" by failing to react to cues and warning chimes emitted by the vehicle, the vehicle's high-voltage battery will drain after a period of time and the gasoline engine will begin to run. If the gas engine runs for a long period of time within an enclosed space, such as a garage, carbon monoxide could build up. GM is aware of two injuries, both related to carbon monoxide build up.
