Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to view my car! Up for sale is a 1995 Chevrolet Corvette C4 that I have owned for 5+ years. I hate to have to sell it as I always planned to have it forever, but as times change - so do needs. In my case, I have some untimely remodeling to my house that forces me to sell my car for cash. I can only hope the person who buys this car can take care of it as I have. LOW RESERVE

The car has been well maintained and very dependable throughout my time with it.  I bought it used from a dealer in Kentucky and always took care of it. The engine still has amazing power and the transmission doesn't miss a beat!  The Corvette is and always will be my favorite sports car. It is a true joy to drive and a pleasure on road trips. I never drove it in bad weather and kept it original as possible, only just recently buying brand new Falken tires for it (95% or better tread).

The exterior of the 'Vette is in Good condition for its age. I took plenty of pictures to ensure more than enough viewpoints to ease any concerns. The paint still looks really nice and when it is waxed, the black is super sharp! There is also some fancy red LED lights at night that shine from the fins on the side. In addition, the headlights flip out to add an exotic sporty feel. I took two pictures of one area on the driver's side hip of the car where the paints clear coat is coming loose, which could use a touch-up but is purely cosmetic. As with any vehicle, road debris has made some small scratches on the nose of the car which is minor and picture is taken as well. The tires are brand new as you can see in the pictures and have thousands and thousands of miles to enjoy on the open road.

The interior of the vehicle is in Good-Great condition. The color scheme matches perfectly and always has always gotten plenty of complements. It is a Fire type Red and Black combination and blends perfectly together. As far as features, there are plenty: power seats, power doors and locks, cruise, A/C,a toggle switch to go from tour performance and sport, NON-Smoker, comfortable grip seats, etc. The top also can be removed and act as a sunroof on the sunny days when the windows being down aren't enough! It feels like being in a convertible. Take a look at all the pictures to find this to be an amazing deal!

Like I said, I hate to sell it but need to and it will be a great car for the next owner. It would be great to fully restore for future car shows since its getting close to the "Classic Car" age. I can accept Cash or Certified check verified in advance from the bank if in person within 7 days of auction close. I will also have the title in hand to give, but will make a copy for my personal records at time of transfer. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions and I will promptly respond, including local pickup, shipping, selling, general question, etc. The vehicle does not have an extended warranty and is sold as-is at time of title transfer. I was just informed of the minor accident in 1997 through the free listing AutoCheck so I have revised the "Buy It Now" price slightly lower. I would have never guessed it had been in an accident.***I also have a short video clip of the vehicle starting and running (can send via text message or through email if given phone number or email address) in case someone out of town wants to purchase!*** I have supplied a Kelley Blue Book(KBB) webpage picture of the price range that it is worth, also showing that it is great value to the buyer! Thank you so much for viewing and have a great day!

Steve

GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

Ford GT dominates Le Mans qualifying, gets slapped with performance adjustment

Fri, Jun 17 2016

Fifty years after Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove the Ford GT40 to victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ford is poised for a historic return to the Circuit de la Sarthe. The new Ford GT took the top two qualifying positions in the LMGTE Pro class, and four of the top five. Ferrari's 488 filled in the rest of the spots in the top seven, the first two from AF Corse. In other words, we're primed for a reboot of the classic Ford-Ferrari feud at this year's race. Or not, as the ACO, which organizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, announced sweeping pre-race Balance of Performance (BOP) adjustments this morning that make this year's GT class anybody's race. In LMP1, last year's overall winner Porsche locked up the top two spots with the 919 Hybrid and will lead the entire field at race start. Toyota's two-car factory effort followed with qualifying times 1.004 and 2.170 seconds behind the pole lap. Audi rounds out the manufacturer-backed LMP1 class in fifth and sixth. Full qualifying results can be found here. The storyline for the GT cars is perfect - some say too perfect. Ford's class-leading times came after BOP adjustment to the Corvette Racing C7.R before qualifying. BOP is intended to level the playing field in the class by adjusting power, ballast, and fuel capacity. (Check out this explainer video for more, or even just if you love French accents.) But the process is riddled with unknowns and ripe for accusations of sandbagging. That is, if the Ford cars were intentionally slow in practice they could hope for BOP adjustment to improve their race chances. On the Corvette side, last year's GTE Pro winner went from the top of the field to the bottom, barely improving from practice to qualifying. If you think Le Mans is as rigged at the NBA Playoffs, well, it's not that simple. Because if Ford and Ferrari held back until qualifying - the eighth-place Porsche 911 RSR is three-and-a-half seconds off the class pole time - it was a pretty dumb strategy. This morning, the ACO tried to put things back in order by limiting the boost in the Ford GT's twin-turbo V6 and adding 11 pounds of ballast. Ferrari was also given extra weight but allowed more fuel capacity. The Corvette and Aston Martin teams were both given breaks on their air restrictors, which will allow their engines to make more power. Both Ford and Porsche also received extra fuel capacity.
