PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS CAR WAS SOLD, BUT HAD A BUYER WHO COULD NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH INTEGRITY. SO, KINDLY SPARE ME THE STORIES, LIES, AND JUST BE REAL. I reserve the right to end the listing early for any reason, as it is also being listed on other resources. Properly stored year round and not driven in harsh condtions. I can assist with shipping, as I have a contact who owns a transport company. I welcome all serious inquiries - 305-302-4617. Kindly have your finances in order. No trades please. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY, THEN CALLING TRYING TO BUY IS A WASTE OF BOTH OF OUR TIMES. The lighting and flash from the pictures appeared to show some dullness. Rest assured, the paint is electric blue and the interior is a deep, rich black. 1991 Rare Quasar Blue ( 1of 805 built ) / Black Coupe w/ 12000 documented miles - Built 6/91 - Bought brand new at Kool Chevrolet. Loaded with every option offered - FX3 Adj. Suspension - G92 Perf. Axle, Dual Power Sport Seats, Glass roof, Bose Stereo, and Climate Control a/c. NO ACCIDENTS, NO PAINT - Garage kept since new. A true gem on every level. Still smells, looks, and drives as new. The original Quasar Blue paint is damage free and in impeccable condition. Never spent any time outside; garaged morning, noon, and night. The moldings, handles, window glass, lettering, rubber seals, and all other exterior features are in perfect condition. The wheels look new and the Goodyear tires have great tread. Always hand detailed and kept in show condition. I have all of the literature and dealer service manuals. The exterior is a strong 9.8+ / 10. On the inside, the Black interior still looks, feels and maintains new-leather smell. As you can see in the pics, the seats have no wear and the flooring shines as new. The door panels, dash, center console, faceplates, etc. are unmarked. All of the interior buttons / switches ( power windows, door locks, cruise, antenna, and 6 way power seats work without issue). The undercarriage shows as new too. Inside, it is a 9.9 / 10. Mechanically, it starts, idles and drives smoothly like a well serviced car should. Everything is up to date - a/c conversion, belts, hoses, synthetic fluids all changed / maintained at the proper intervals. The engine compartment is unmodified and it performs without hesitation. Of course, the L98 - TPI - 250hp. engine has great pick-up and shifts as a new car. The FX3 / G92 set up provides for better handling and performance than the standard base model. All other mechanical functions are 100% spot on. I have no doubt that this Vette could compete in an unrestored class and potentially win at a Show. 1991 Chevrolet Corvette Report Run Date: 2014-08-26 20:11:57.111 EDT Report Summary

Next-gen Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra may use carbon fiber
Thu, Dec 7 2017It's been generally accepted that the next generation of full-size GM trucks will use some sort of strong, lightweight material for the beds while retaining steel for the cab. While aluminum seems like the most obvious choice, according to Automotive News, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will incorporate both aluminum and carbon fiber in their beds. The publication cites sources from within GM, though it seems the introduction of this comparatively exotic material mix is still a few years off. While carbon fiber is both stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, it takes significantly more time and money to produce, essentially relegating the material to small-volume cars. The main benefit for trucks is the resulting reduction in weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing the tough, rugged capabilities truck buyers expect. The Ford F-150 made the switch to aluminum for the 2015 model year and it's proved highly successful. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the competition followed suit. Automotive News says that the next-gen trucks will launch with aluminum beds and that it will take a couple of years before we'll see any carbon fiber incorporated into the design. Even then, only look for the composite material on higher-trim models, with a trickle down to lower-spec trucks possible further in the future. In 2011, GM announced it was working with Japan-based Teijin Limited on a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic. There's a good chance that material's introduction will be on trucks. Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray
Fri, 25 Oct 2013We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
Recharge Wrap-up: Phoenix Cars delivers ZEUS to Navy, Volt saves gas compared to i-MiEV
Thu, Apr 23 2015Phoenix Cars has delivered its first Zero Emissions Utility Shuttle (ZEUS) flatbed truck to the US Navy. The electric flatbed will be used to transport maintenance materials around Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme. The Phoenix ZEUS features a 100-mile range, and can charge in just three hours. It also features vehicle-to-grid technology and direct power capability, allowing it to function as a mobile power station. ZEUS customers enjoy an eight-year/300,000-mile battery warranty and round-the-clock technical support from Phoenix. Phoenix launched an electric passenger shuttle last year, and years ago worked on an electric sport utility truck before shifting over to larger vehicles. Read more in the press release from Phoenix Cars. A man found that he used less gas by trading in his Mitsubishi i-MiEV for a Chevrolet Volt. Ben Rich saved fuel in part by using his Volt for road trips rather than needing to rent cars. Rich also found other benefits to driving a Volt, including more comfort, more freedom of movement and less range anxiety. Rich often had to turn off the heat in the winter to eke out precious miles in the Mitsubishi, which he needn't do in the Chevy, though he did have a gripe about the Volt using the gas motor to warm the car. ChargePoint has tallied over 9 million charging sessions for a total of 65 gigawatt hours of energy. Based on national efficiency averages of three miles per kWh and 23.9 miles per gallon, this has saved 8.2 million gallons of gasoline and 60 million pounds of CO2. This accounts for what ChargePoint calls a "huge environmental impact." Read more in the release from ChargePoint below. The Environmental Impact of ChargePoint Drivers Campbell, Calif.– We all know electric vehicles (EV) have enormous environmental advantages over gas vehicles. Plug-in EVs reduce carbon-based greenhouse gases, improve air quality and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. EV drivers on the ChargePoint network have had a huge environmental impact. With over 9 million charging sessions delivering 65 gigawatt hours of energy, EV drivers have avoided over 60 million pounds of CO2 and 8.2 million gallons of gasoline, and driven over 196 million gas-free miles. *Based on national averages: EV efficiency of 3 miles per kWh, gas efficiency of 23.9 mpg and a net savings of 0.924 pounds of CO2 per kWh.
