In January 1987, Car and Driver magazine picked Corvette as one of the world's top 10 cars.  This car is evidence for the decision of Car and Driver!  Cherry red inside and out.  No dings, rust, or scratches.  This is a second owner car and has been in Fallon, Nevada since the mid 90's.  It was purchased as an anniversary present for the current owner.  She is GORGEOUS.  Her name is Ms. Scarlette and that name is embroidered in red on her custom black dash mat.  The dash under the mat is in pristine condition as is the rest of the car.  The car has custom gold plated door handles, gold plated license plate frames, gold pinstriping graphics and gold Covette emblems.

The car is equipped with an automatic transmission with a powerful V-8 engine with actual mileage of 56,410.  Runs and looks better than cars that are many years newer.  The interior has the comfortable deep red leather bucket seating, red plush carpet and features beautiful highly polished wood grain dash and console.  The stereo system has bose speakers and comes with the original AM/FM radio and cassette player.

The owners added custom chrome tips to the tailpipes as well as Flowmaster mufflers.  The car comes with a custom car cover and even has Hawaiian print sunshades to keep the interior cool.

The only two known flaws are cosmetic.  The driver window has some bubbles in the window tinting and the other small issue is two scratches in the glass at the back of the hatch where someone tried to break in the car.

This car is a fabulous Corvette and would make a great addition to your car family.  The car is located in Fallon, Nevada which is 60 miles from Reno in northern Nevada.  We are timing this auction to end just before Hot August Nights which is a HUGE car gathering in Reno.  So if you are coming this way for HAN we can help arrange auto transport.

Man spent $75 on a truck that lasted 38 years

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Absurd as it is, some buyers today are worried about getting their car to last throughout the term of their seven-year car loan. Minnesota resident Bob Sportel has the opposite issue: his Chevrolet truck seemingly won't die. Sportel needed a cheap ride to get to work when he took a job at a farmer's co-op 38 years ago, so he bought a rusty 1957 Chevy pickup for $75 from a farmer; at the time, the 20-year-old truck was almost as old as Bob was. After nearly four decades of daily driving and an estimated 300,000 miles, Sportel is still driving the truck today. Bolts secure a fender, Bondo secures the lights, what looks like a whole roll of duct tape keeps him sitting on the bench seat instead of in it. For a 58-year-old pickup that's never seen a garage or a new coat of paint – but did get its oil changed four times a year – that's not bad; Sportel thinks his repair bill hasn't got above $1,000 for the entire time he's owned the truck. He still has no plans to get rid of it, saying, "It just becomes a part of you." You can watch his story in the video above. News Source: KARE11.com Chevrolet Truck Classics Videos

Seeing the Detroit Auto Show via drone

Sun, Jan 18 2015

Seeing the Chevrolet display at the Detroit Auto Show is worth doing this year, and not just because of the new Corvette Z06, Volt and Bolt concept. In order to attract the new kids, The Bowtie has gone what the old kids used to call "buck wild" with their show stand at Cobo Hall. A Corvette Z06, Trax, and Colorado are parked along a central aisle, called Mainstreet, at the end of which is a 20-foot-tall, 73-foot long transparent screen lording over the new Volt. Elsewhere are five more 20-foot-tall screens broadcasting nine stories today's Chevrolet wants to tell about its vehicles, from performance to belief in the power of play to its 4G LTE-equipped OnStar telematics service. Then there are the social media and virtual reality safety installations, the community presentations and more. Chevrolet flew a drone through the stand to show off what it's doing, which is has replaced eye-level video as the next best thing to being there. You can check it out in the video above.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
