1981 Corvette Project Car -was Factory 4 Speed - Solid Texas Frame - 81 C3 Vette on 2040-cars

Here is a 1981 Corvette project that I have had stored inside for several years. It is a rare combination of dark blue exterior, silver interior, and was a factory 4 speed manual transmission. This was a Texas car and it has a very solid frame, floors, and birdcage. Rear section of the body from the firewall back is in great shape, front clip (nose) was removed due to fiberglass damage. Two front clip sections are included as pictured. Some dash pieces are missing, but the dash wiring is intact. The car has tilt / telescopic steering and power everything (steering, brakes, windows, locks, seat). It was also set up for the rear roof top carrier. No engine or transmission are included. but engine wiring, clutch linkage and shifter linkage are still in place,
Basically, what you see in the pictures is what you get. It is ready to restore to original or build into whatever you want such as a resto-mod with newer engine and transmission. I was going to go with either a big block or LS motor with a 6 speed and a tilt front end, but the possibilities are endless. It currently has a clear Illinois title in my name. It's a great project, I just have too many and have decided to sell a few. It can be inspected at any time - I'm about 70 miles southwest of Chicago along I-80. Serious bidders / buyers only, please. Full payment is expected within 7 days. Cash at time of pick-up is best, otherwise buyer must arrange transport after payment clears. I can provide inside storage for up to 30 days as long as the car is paid for in full. 68 69 70 71 72 73 74 75 76 77 78 79 80 81 82 1968 1969 1979 1971 1972 1973 1974 1975 1976 1977 1978 1979 1980 1981 1982 Vet Vett Corvett stingray sting ray Bloomington gold survivor race drag street stick shioft 5 speed trans clutch linkage t top tops spoiler luggage roof panel body section tub rolling chassis chassie chassy monza 350 427 454 502 496 396 T5 ZF 5.3 4.8 6.0 6.2 7.4 8.1 |

Nissan Leaf sales drop, new Chevy Volt climbs in November
Tue, Dec 1 2015This is probably just how things are going to be from now on. With the second-gen Chevy Volt available in some states and Nissan dragging its heels on getting a true new version of the Leaf onto dealer lots, it's no surprise that plug-in vehicle shoppers are turning to the Volt in a big way. Yes, we know that a pure EV and a PHEV are not the same and that the Volt and the Leaf are quite different cars, but after all of this time tracking the two plug-in sales champions, we feel obliged to continue our monthly look at who's selling how many of what. Here goes. We'll start with the mediocre news. That'd be the Leaf sales, which came in at just 1,054 units last month. That's the lowest monthly sales total for all of 2015 and, in fact, the lowest month of Leaf sales since February 2013. It's also a 60.8 percent drop from November 2014's sales of 2,687. This despite the fact that you can now get a new Leaf with a longer range of 107 miles (vs. 84) for a higher cost. The new Volt (along with the first-gen Volts that are still being sold out there), on the other hand, was up 49 percent, to 1,980 sales. That gave the Volt its best November ever, "on both a total and retail basis," GM says. The Volt beat the Leaf in October, too, and we suspect this is going to be the story until Nissan figures out how to get people excited about a five-year-old model or introduces the second edition. As always, we'll have a fuller wrap-up of US green car sales in our By The Numbers report soon. Green Chevrolet Nissan Electric Hybrid ev sales
Chevy: The Big Game
Mon, Feb 2 2015Chevrolet took an early lead for the 2015 Super Bowl advertising crown with its spot for the all-new, 4G LTE-capable Colorado pickup in a spot that simulated a problem with your TV. The stark, simple ad then states that if you're lucky enough to have an Internet-capable vehicle, like the new Colorado, you'd at least be able to stream the game. A clever, chuckle-inducing spot if there was one. Check out our full write up of the new, 2015 Colorado. Marketing/Advertising Chevrolet Truck Super Bowl Commercials Videos 2015 super bowl ad
"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]
Thu, 07 Feb 2013For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.
