1973 Corvette Stingray. 52,707 original miles. This car has been in my family for over 35 years. Vehicle is numbers matching. Motor has been rebuilt. Bored 30 over with a comp cam. performer intake and roller rockers. Fresh engine has about 2000 miles on it and runs very strong like a Vette should. I have the original intake, valve covers, A/C compressor and smog pump that came on the car. These items will go with the car. Although the car looks great in the photos it does need a paint job and some interior trim to restored back to her glory. Currently a daily driver for me due to some rough times. It was my intention to restore her completely and make her a show piece. Sadly I am not able to do so. So for sale she is.

A considerable amount of work has been done to this Vette. I will start with listing what has been replaced and then I will list what she needs.

Within the last 3000 miles .All items were new or rebuilt. Items marked GM were new out of the box GM parts. AC delco parts were new. Ecklers parts were new or rebuilt.
Engine rebuilt
Radiator (ac delco), fuel tank (ecklers), fuel meter (ecklers), fuel pump (ac delco), starter motor (ac delco), upper and lower control arms (ecklers), front springs (ecklers), front shocks (ac delco), steering damper (ecklers), side pipe exhaust (GM), tires (BF Goodrich), brakes (ecklers) including new stainless sleeved calipers on all 4 wheels. Rear bumpers (GM) . Front bumper (GM). stingray emblems (GM). leather seat covers (ecklers). new seat bottom and back cushions. (ecklers).  Rear license plate bezel (GM). tack cable (GM). Sill plates (GM)
Transmission and rear was drained and filled with GM synthetic gear oil. New Ram clutch and pressure plate.

Dash and center console is in great condition. No tears or anything. Seat covers are new. Original radio works fine but the speakers are not hooked up to it.
All gauges work except for the speedometer. ( needs cable) and the fuel gauge works intermittent. Power windows work fine but the drivers switch needs to be replaced.

Carb needs to be rebuilt. Only because its hard to start first thing in the morning. Fuel bowls leak down over night. I'm told this is common for these older Q-jets. After the first start she fires up all day immediatly. Its only a matter of the fuel getting into the engine on the entail start.

Headlamps are slow to pop up.

Interior needs door panels, carpet and some minor TLC. Weathersrtips are original and should be replaced.

Exterior will need a comeplete paint job,(paint is pealing off) Side pipe covers ( plating is bubbling and pealing off) and rear luggage rack(minor surface rust spots) and rear fuel door emblem (sun fade).

Body lines and seams are perfect. This vehicle was repainted some 25 years ago and parked in the garage. It was my fathers car. He gave me the car to finish. As we pulled the cover off the car we noticed bubbles popping in the paint . After driving it and the vehicle being out in the sun it has started some major pealing all over the car.

This is a really tight Corvette. Runs and drives great. A paint job and some trim and a little TLC away from being a real classic. This is a great numbers matching almost all original Corvette. People are constantly telling me what a beautiful car she is. A day does not go by with some kind of Wow! from some passer by.

I have tried to list everything I could on the car. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain

Sat, Aug 9 2014

Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S. Nissan sells 3,117 Leaf EVs in May, climbs over 3,000 for first time ever

Tue, Jun 3 2014

Chalk up a big win for the Nissan Leaf. In May, the world's most popular electric vehicle sold a record 3,117 units, the first time any pure electric vehicle has sold over 3,000 units in a month in the US (unless Tesla managed that feat but rolled the number into a quarterly report). This marks the 15th month in a row of record Leaf sales and the seventh where the Leaf was the top EV seller in the US. The challenge bar is set for someone to step up to compete with this all-electric wunderkind. Chevrolet did sell over 3,000 Volts once, in August 2013. The Leaf's one long-standing competitor, of a sort, is the Chevy Volt, which used to regularly outsell the Leaf but moved only 1,684 units in May. That's still an increase of 4.8 percent over 2013 but is part of a 4.5 percent decline in year-to-date Volt sales for 2014 compared to last year. The last time the Volt outsold the Leaf was October 2013. Chevrolet did sell over 3,000 Volts once, when it moved 3,351 in August 2013. Let's take another look at those 3,117 Leafs sold last month. They represent a 45.8 percent increase over May 2013, when 2,138 Leaf EVs were sold, so someone is doing something right in Japan and Tennessee. So far, Leaf sales in the US are up 36.4 percent year-to-date, to 10,389 EVs. That's just under half of the 2013 total, and it was accomplished in five months. In 2013, Nissan sold a total of 22,610 Leafs. Anyone want to hazard a guess where the total will be at the end of the year? As always, we'll have our detailed monthly sales write-up including other plug-in vehicles as well as hybrids and diesel car, up soon. For now, though, the big news is big Leaf sales. Read Nissan's press release below. Nissan Group reports May 2014 U.S. sales May 2014 May 2013 % Change Nissan Group Total sales (units) 135,934 114,457 +18.8 Nissan Division May sales 125,558 106,558 +17.8 Infiniti May sales* 10,376 7,899 +31.4 NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan Group today announced total U.S. sales for May 2014 of 135,934 units, an increase of 18.8 percent over the prior year and a May record. Nissan highlights: Nissan Division set a May record at 125,558 sales in the month, an increase of 17.8 percent. This marks a monthly record for Nissan division in 14 of the last 15 months. May was the best-ever month for Nissan LEAF with 3,117 sales, an increase of 45.8 percent over the prior year. In May, LEAF passed 50,000 total U.S. sales since launch, further establishing it as the leader among electric vehicles.

Hot Wheels' Twitter-enabled vending machine coughs up free Camaro diecasts

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

There are still plenty of companies that haven't gotten the whole social media thing down pat yet, but Hot Wheels isn't one of them. During the recent Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Hot Wheels created a lot of buzz for itself by using a vending machine filled with Chevrolet Camaro models, but instead of money to get the cars, show attendees just had to use Twitter.
To get the free car, people were asked to send a tweet to Hot Wheels Canada saying what they liked about the new Hot Wheels Edition Camaro, and including the #ChevyCIAS hashtag. This seemed to be a popular marketing tool, too, as AdWeek reports that the @HotWheelsCanada account more than tripled in followers during the course of the 10-day show. Looking ahead, this could open up even more innovative marketing possibilities using social media.
Check out the video posted below to watch how it works, and while the auto show has ended and the free-car giveaway has too, we're almost certain that some of the 1,500 freebies will make their way onto eBay.
