1964 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Roadster/Convertible
This is the quintessential driver quality C2 Corvette Roadster! Beautiful color combination that demands attention
everywhere it goes. I purchased the car from a older gentleman earlier this year who was moving to Nevada and was
unable to bring the car with him. He had owned the car for the past 20years. If he was lucky he was able to put on
a few hundred miles on in a year. I have had the opportunity to drive the car this year and put on well over 2,500+
miles. From cruises in town to 4-5hour round trips to Door County Wisconsin the car has never let me down. I am
reluctant to sell it however another classic car has gained my interest and I simply do not have the garage space
for the both of them.
ENGINE: The engine is known to be a factory replacement 327ci. The casting #'s match a 62'-67' 327. As for the
rest of the engine compartment it has aluminum intake manifold and valve covers. Most other engine components are
original type. The engine compartment is clean and well serviced. I do have receipts for the engine being rebuilt
by a classic car restoration shop in 2008 about 5-6k miles ago.
TRANSMISSION: 4-speed manual Muncie transmission with hurst shifter.
SUSPENSION: The suspension is solid and claimed to be in very-good un-restored condition. Suspension components for
the most part are original. This was very important to me and I had the car inspected prior to me purchasing it for
peace of mind. No worries here!
As for the rest of the car the major interior parts carpets, seats, and door panels are in very good condition. The
gauges, radio, glove box, dash, seat belts, and trim all fit well. The original clock is hidden behind a cover. The
clock could use a rebuild and some tlc. The radio is inoperative and I have not addressed that issue. All gauges
work to my knowledge with the exception of the gas gauge. It has a tendency to read half or 3/4's when it's full
and correct at certain times. The gas tank itself is relatively new and is able to burn pump 91/93 premium fuel.
The exterior of the car is very presentable and grabs attention with the tan interior combination. For the most
part there is no spider cracking or major imperfections. There is scratch or knick here or there however the paint
is in overall good condition for its age. Chrome also is in good condition with little to no oxidization and normal
pitting. There is a painted to match hardtop that compliments the car very nicely. The hardtop is in good shape and
fits fairly well. One could replace weather-strips down the road for better fitment however this didn't bother me.
One of my favorites is the tan soft-top. The soft-top is in excellent shape and was recently replaced including all
new hardware, nuts & bolts. Overall this is not your frame-off restoration 6 figure car.

2014 Chevy Silverado priced from *$24,585, V8 gets better economy than Ford EcoBoost V6
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Chevrolet has thrown down the next hand in the pickup truck poker wars and revealed at least a couple of potential aces - depending on which numbers matter most to you. The 2014 2014 Silverado 1500 with its 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 gets 335 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, is mated to a six-speed automatic, can tow 11,500 pounds with the optional Max Trailer Package and costs the same as the outgoing Silverado, $24,585 (*including $995 destination fee). Chevy says the Silverado also stands atop the fuel economy charts when comparing any competitor with a V8 engine - and some competitors with V6 engines. The two-wheel drive model returns 16 miles per gallon city, 23 mpg highway, 19 mpg combined in two-wheel drive guise and 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined as a four-wheel drive.
For context around those numbers, the most fuel efficient V8-powered 2013 Ford F-150 pickups lose about two mpg in every metric compared to the Silverado, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost returning 16 city, 18 highway and 22 combined in two-wheel drive. However, that EcoBoost does have 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. You can get a Ram 1500 with a 3.6-liter V6 that gets 25 mpg highway, but it has 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The 2013 Ram with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and its 395 hp and 407 lb-ft drops one mpg in every category to the Silverado. Its tow rating is 200 pounds beyond its nearest competitor, the F-150 with the Max Trailer Tow Package.
Elsewhere, the new Silverado gets a quieter cab with a redesigned interior, a new bed with improved load-management possibilities, disc brakes all around, tweaked steering and suspension, along with free standard scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.
UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
