64 Chevrolet Corvair Monza W/ Factory Ac on 2040-cars
Donalds, South Carolina, United States
I bought this car in 2005 from second owner with 30,238
original miles on it. I bought and drove
since that day as a daily driver. Car is 2 speed power glide transmission, with
tinted windows, factory installed ac (VIN # checked to verify it is a factory ac
car). I converted the ac to a Sanden 508
compressor and 134a refig. It does work
and blow cold. I have the original ac Delco compress for anyone wishing to
restore to original specs. I installed a Sony AM/FM single radio with new
speakers hidden under seats to maintain original appearance. For drivability a Pertronix
electronic ignition was installed. The
seats have been professionally recovered using a Clark’s upholstery kit in original
white. It has also received a recent tune up, all door rubber is new. The car
does have some rust under the rear bumper (see pictures) and a patch in the
passenger floor board. It was repainted
at some point prior to my purchase in 2005.
It look nice for cruise ins and as a driver. If you want a show car it
would need a re-spray. As I said, I
drive this car (no trailer queen here) and it is great fun, drives straight,
pulls great, engine and transmission is strong, ac works, radio plays with good
tires on it. She is an honest little car that could very easily be turned into
a show car. |

Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1
Mon, 13 Jan 2014
The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
