Los Angeles, California, United States

Very clean 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible, equipped with RARE Factory A/C. Dark blue exterior / Black interior / White top.

110hp, dual-carb engine / 3-speed transmission. Engine is in great running condition and the car runs nicely! Odometer reads 69,955, uncertain if those are original miles. VIN tag is correctly located on frame rail. VIN code:  105676W17XXXX. 1=Chevrolet, 05=Monza, 67=Convertible, 6=1966, W=Willow Run plant, 17XXXX=vehicle number.

Power convertible top!! Wood grain Grant GT steering wheel (stock steering wheel included). Alpine stereo installed (stock AM stereo included). Front and rear bumper guards. Door edge guards. Trunk and glove box lights. Center console compartment with two-cup holder. All gauges work. Interior is very clean with no tears on the dash or the seats. Body is straight and car is nearly rust-free. This car received a paint job a few years ago, but for the most part, it's a very well-kept, original car with some very rare options.

Please note: the A/C system is currently not running. The compressor and condenser were removed, intended for upgrade. The condenser looks usable. Both are included in the sale along with the other original A/C parts (blower, evaporator, hose and dash vents, which are still installed). See pictures for details.

15" rally rims w/ BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, which gives the car a sporty look. Plus I'm including (4) additional tires with the wire-spoke hub caps. There is a small tear in the top and the left-side rear metal trim is slightly dented (see pics). Clean title and car is currently registered in California. Comes with original manual and owner's Protecto-plate. I will assist with transportation and I will answer all questions the best I can. Vehicle is listed for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Vehicle is sold as is so please review the info and pictures carefully. Thanks.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado tows in new configurator, microsite

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

Judging by your continued enthusiastic response to configurator notices, dear reader, you enjoy speccing out new cars as much as we do. Better still, there tends to be even more ways to personalize, configure and bloat theoretical MSRPs on full-size trucks as there are with more ordinary passenger cars. In addition to trim level, engine and transmission choices, truck buyers usually have to specify items like cab configuration, bed length, number of driven axles, tow packages, gear ratios and all sorts of bits and bobs.
That's why we're pleased to see the DIY specification utility for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado come alive so soon after this week's Detroit Auto Show debut. While the configurator lacks pricing (General Motors hasn't announced numbers yet) and full options, you can still spec out your half-ton rig, and even print it out or email it to your friends. Beyond the configurator, the new model-specific site is pretty cool, too, with various videos and closer looks at the truck's new features.
The new Chevrolet pickup range won't be on dealer lots until sometime this summer, so whether you're a building contractor, an avid sportsman or just a guy or gal that loves full-size trucks, you might want to check out the link below to keep your appetite whetted. If you're more of a Sierra fan, well, it looks like you're going to have to wait a while - GMC hasn't updated its site yet.

2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS

Sat, 16 Feb 2013

Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.
