1966 Chevy Corvair Monza, True Survivor Car, Purchased locally on January 3, 1966 from Van Chevrolet in Mission, Kansas. Sold in 1998 to local gentleman. I purchased the Corvair from the estate in July 2013 with the intent to restore. I have decided to concentrate my efforts on a 65 Corsa instead. I have old service records ranging from Master Cylinder, Gas Tank Fill Neck, Heater Tubes, Crankcase Gasket, Oil Pan Gasket, Control Arms, Front Seat Vinyl Replacement, includes records of oil changes. The car was driven very little sense 2000, shows only 5800 miles in 13 years. Floor Pan, Trunk and Rockers are solid. Car is showing rust in the front fender dog legs and forward section of the rear fenders. Cowl is just starting to show some bubbling. The driver side rear sail panel has been pushed in, I have a NOS Replacement metal replacement panel included for repair.Driver door has a very small dent, which almost looks like it could be just popped out. Engine runs very good, transmission shifts like it should. Steering is tight. A/C is working but after using it some this summer it is not blowing as cold as it was, suspect the seals are leaking a little. All the gauges and lights are working as they should. This car would be a great driver or a excellent Corvair to restore with minimal rust repair. Car has had one repaint long time ago,I would rate the current paint a 4 out of 10. The current Mileage of 88,863 is actual. I have the car listed locally and reserve the right to end auction if I sell. I will release car after all funds have cleared my bank. I have a clear title in hand. Please let me know if you have any questions.

GM cutting production at two plants
Thu, Feb 26 2015General Motors is continuing to adjust to excess supply of some of its brands' models. To get production more in line with the vehicles' actual demand, the automotive giant is idling two of its factories in North America in the coming months. The Orion Assembly plant is going to be down from March 9-13, according to an anonymous plant worker and another insider speaking to Automotive News. The factory builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, but there are plenty of both models sitting on dealer lots, including 216 days worth of Sonics, according to AN. The factory already had two idle periods announced to reduce the excess. In addition, downtime is scheduled at GM's "Flex" line at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, plant from April 13-17. This affects supply of the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS. Among them, the automotive giant has the largest supply of Regals ready for dealers with 213 days worth of them, according to AN. The future for the whole Oshawa factory is cloudy in general, though. There are rumors that it could close entirely in the future because the Camaro is leaving and the Regal and XTS might not last much longer than 2017. The Canadian government and the labor union there intend to put up a fight, though. Automakers score 8 out of top 20 most-watched ads on YouTube [w/videos]
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Who would have ever thought there'd be a day where people are able to skip television commercials only to go to websites to watch them later? Such is the joy of a DVR and YouTube. AdWeek tabulated the 20 most-watched ads on YouTube, and found that nine were car-related including eight coming from automakers.
Volkswagen continued its Star Wars theme with two ads in the top 20, including the highest-ranking car commercial The Bark Side spot at number three with almost 18 million views, which doesn't even have a single car in it. Some of our favorites are from Chrysler with Clint Eastwood in It's Halftime in America and House Arrest with Charlie Sheen for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Chevrolet, Honda, Audi and Toyota were the other automakers in the top 20, but we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention one of the coolest ads on the list, the Hot Wheels corkscrew jump.
Of all the car videos, only the Fiat ad wasn't played during a Super Bowl. Check out all eight videos - in order - after the jump. Nike took the top spot with its My Time is Now ad that has been seen online more than 20 million times with Pepsi's Uncle Drew posted up in the runner-up; some of the other videos include four Old Spice commercials and an ad in which Snoop Dogg is pedaling Hot Pockets.
