1965 Chevy Corvair Corsa on 2040-cars
Morehead City, North Carolina, United States
1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa 2 door coupe. It has the original 140hp 6cyl engine and 4 speed manual gear box. It has about 76000 original miles on it. I have done all the metal work on the car. I bought this car about 10 years ago as a restoration project. It ran and drove, but needed body work. I spent over 1000 hours repairing all the metal work on the body. Plus over 7k in parts and material's. I paid a guy $1800 to finish the filler work, paint the car, and reassemble it. He had the car for 5 months and did not touch it. When I told him I was coming to get the car and not to touch it, he slapped a quick paint job on the body before I could get there to get it.So it was just painted about 3 months ago. However it was not done properly, nor did he paint the doors or inside the hood, or trunk. He also did not complete the filler work that needed to be done. So the car will need to be put back together, body work finished, and repainted. I have all the parts and many extras that go with the car. I have about $3000 in new parts that come with the car. I also have the factory assembly manual to help with the reassembly process. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. I can also get pictures of anything that you might want to see. When I did the metal work on the car I replaced all rusted metal with new panels from a donor car, and from Clarks Corvair Parts. Then I painted the whole car with por15 to prevent rust, then I used special tie coat primer over that. 99% of everything you need to put it back together comes with the car.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]
Mon, 18 Aug 2014For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.
Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
