Hello,

I bought this car as a project about 1.5 years ago. Had been in a garage in SF bay area for years. Had typical Corvair rust but the floors were in good shape because they look like they were heavily undercoated possibly when the car was bought new. I think Im the second or third owner. Speedo shows like 22,000 but not sure of the accuracy?
I have done allot of body work and replaced lower windshield panel (Clarks Corvair piece). Most areas have been plated in others not. I was building it as a summer Rat Rod driver so I only wanted to get the body decent for a colored suede primer. Body still needs some work its in first prime but decent.I replaced left door as it had been damaged in the past.
The windshield will need to be final fitted on lower corners but I have( no windshield) for it. Looks close and like I said lower corners probably will need final shaping after windshield is test fitted.
I have most all the trim like outside handles and most mouldings. The power top actually works but it needs a new top. All the side glass is good. Front and rear bumpers are decent but not perfect. I have some extra misc parts like extra outside and inside door handles etc.
I have most interior trim panels and rear seat and trim covers for power top mechanism but they all need to be redone as well as rear seats and carpet. Front seats are very clean original out of a 1964 Corvair Monza but obviously will need new covers to match. They fit well but need to be installed permanently. The dash has been partially redone and dash pad is nice. It has new headlamp switch. I remover the wiper assembly and heater ducts as i was going to drive it only in good weather and wanted the smooth look. I do not have these items but they could be reinstalled if a person wanted to. There is a new key cylinder for glove box installed.
There is a very small rust out in front trunk floor smaller than a softball,no other anywhere that i have seen.
Rear brake drums were turned and new shoes were installed, the front brakes will need to be done.
The motor runs well I replaced the plugs and wires, rebuilt the carbs and redid some of the fuel lines.New alternator and regulator as well as new battery.New oil and filter. I replaced oil pan gasket but now I see the push rod tubes will need new o-ring set as they are leaking. There is no muffler but has stock header pipes.
Transmission goes into all gears and acts like it is ok. I replaced oil pan gasket but I still have a leak at the trans selector shaft need seal kit.
Has stock wheels with hub caps and decent tires.
I have tried to be as complete and honest about all the details of the car. Its a PROJECT car and it will be a neat little summer driver when its done with not to much more work.
Will help with loading. It can be started and driven onto a trailer.
Has clean California with new plates, pink signed off.
All questions answered!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Reason for selling I just bought a super sharp 1985 Corvette!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.
