1965 Chevrolet Greenbrier

Chevrolet built this 6 door “Sportwagon” like all the Corvair’s in its lineup with an air cooled 6cyl engine.  Produced between 1961 and 1965 this is # 1203 of the final production run of 1528 and delivered in December of ’64

This van has been restored to a point that it is reliable, safe and EYE CATCHING

Purchased 5 years ago in Colorado, the van was plastic bead blasted to bare metal and 48 years of beauty marks massaged out.  I found 5 coats of paint but thankfully only 1 rust spot that was repaired properly with metal.

The seats were rebuilt with modern materials and the table (non-factory) kept for the retro look.  Interior upgrades are:  Factory front bucket seats, full carpet kit, and seat belts for forward facing passengers.

Exterior upgrades:  Colour matched powder coated rallye wheels with correct diameter 215-65-15 radial tires. The original van engine block was converted into a 140HP 4 carb with progressive throttle linkage.  True dual exhaust including ceramic coated headers.  3.27 diff and factory 4 speed rebuilt and resealed.  The extra HP & torque get this vehicle up to speed quickly and the lower gear ratio (stock is 3.89) allow you to cruise all day at modern highway speeds.

Also included with the van are the original 110 HP heads, three FC gas heaters in various states of assembly plus any and all corvair parts I have including spare axles, lights, front grill that all came with the van.  For those of you residing in the US, this vehicle is an easy import as it originated in the US and is over 25 years old.  My last two corvairs are now American citizens and the buyer had no issues crossing the border.  I will assist in delivery as best I can and willing to even meet at the border near Buffalo NY

2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
