1963 Corvair Monza 900 Coupe, Rust-free Oklahoma Car, Rebuilt Engine on 2040-cars
Coventry, Rhode Island, United States
1963 CHEVROLET CORVAIR MONZA 900 COUPE. A TOTALLY RUST FREE
OKLAHOMA CAR THAT I BROUGHT TO THE EAST COAST 3 MONTHS AGO. THIS
CORVAIR SPENT MOST OF IT'S ENTIRE LIFE IN WARM, DRY, SUNNY OKLAHOMA (AND IT SHOWS), THEN TO NEW MEXICO IN 2011. THE ENTIRE BODY, FLOORS, AND
UNDERCARRIAGE ARE LIKE NEW--AMAZING!!
THE ENGINE WAS REBUILT BY A CORVAIR SPECIALIST IN OKLAHOMA, AND HAS VERY LITTLE MILEAGE ON IT--RUNS GREAT. THE BRAKE PEDAL IS HIGH AND FIRM. IT APPEARS TO EVEN HAVE THE ORIGINAL DELCO DRUMS ON IT. THE TIRES ARE NEW RADIALS. BATTERY IS FAIRLY NEW. FRONT SEATS HAVE BEEN UPGRADED TO HIGH BACK POWER LEATHER BUCKETS. PAINT IS DRIVER QUALITY DUE TO SUN FADE ON TOP OF HOOD, ROOF, AND TRUNK. BODY IS ALL ORIGINAL AND VERY STRAIGHT. NO EVIDENCE OF ANY PRIOR BODY WORK OTHER THAN ONE REPAINT. IF YOU INVEST IN A GOOD QUALITY PAINT JOB YOU CAN HAVE A SHOW CAR. YOU WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT RUST REPAIR BLEEDING THROUGH! INTERIOR COULD USE NEW DOOR PANELS (READILY AVAILABLE FROM CLARK'S CORVAIR PARTS) AND TOP OF REAR SEAT BACK. WINDSHIELD HAS A CRACK IN IT. WHY START WITH A RUSTY CAR THAT NEEDS SURGERY? THIS IS A SOLID, INEXPENSIVE WAY TO GET INTO A NICE CLASSIC CAR. RI IS A NON-TITLE STATE FOR VEHICLES OVER 10 YEARS. CAR WILL BE TRANSFERRED WITH THE PREVIOUS NEW MEXICO TITLE (WHICH HAS BEEN SIGNED OVER TO ME), AND A BILL OF SALE. |

Chevy Bolt wins 2017 Green Car of the Year
Thu, Nov 17 2016We knew that a plug-in vehicle was going to win the 2017 Green Car of the Year award this year, given that all five finalists have a way to charge up. And when Ron Cogan, the editor and publisher of Green Car Journal, announced the winner – the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV – he said that the car itself represents one of those times in the auto industry when everything is about to change. Similar to the invention of the starter motor, things are about to get different. For now, though, the fact that the Bolt EV won an award sounds like the same old thing all over again. Just this week, it was named Motor Trends Car of the Year and to the Car And Driver Top 10 list. The other four finalists for Green Car of the Year included the Toyota Prius Prime, the Chrysler Pacifica, the Kia Optima (including hybrid and plug-in hybrid models) and the BMW 330e iPerformance. Last year, the winner was the 2016 Chevy Volt. Did Green Car Journal make the right selection this year? See the award ceremony below.
Opel CEO talks new EV, will likely be fresh face for Chevy, too
Wed, Jul 23 2014The rumored demise of the Opel Ampera has been confirmed, but there's good news, too. Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann has been busy Tweeting information about the brand's next plug-in vehicle, admitting that the Ampera is on the way out but that plug-in vehicles are here to stay. His Tweets, in full, read: After the eventual run-out of the current generation Ampera, we'll introduce a successor product in the electric vehicle segment. Our next electric vehicle will be part of our massive product offensive – with 27 new vehicles in the 2014-2018 time frame. We see eMobility as important part of the mobility of tomorrow and we will continue to drive down costs & deliver affordability. As we learned earlier this week, the Ampera will not be refreshed when the current Chevy Volt is updated, most likely because of slow sales. Opel sold just 332 Amperas in the first five months of 2014. For now, General Motors is still building Amperas in Michigan for export to Europe. So, what might this new EV mean for the General Motors plug-in fleet? Official spokespeople are being quiet, but we think it's safe to say the new EV Neumann is talking about is not simply a rebadged Chevy Spark EV. This is the first official word about an entirely new EV, and we expect it will come to both the Chevrolet and Opel brands.
Safety group pans GM’s new Marketplace in-dash shopping
Wed, Dec 6 2017When it comes to our cars, is the Internet of Things a godsend? Or a hidden menace that will create more problems than it will solve? On the same day General Motors announced it will equip newer-model cars with its in-dash Marketplace e-commerce app, a prominent safety group was shooting it down. National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman tells Bloomberg the technology will only contribute to distracted driving and hurt efforts to stem the tide of rising auto fatalities, which grew 5.6 percent to more than 37,000 in the U.S. in 2016. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving was responsible for 3,477 fatalities and 391,000 injuries in 2015, the most recent year for which it has data. "There's nothing about this that's safe," Hersman told Bloomberg. "If this is why they want WiFi in the car, we're going to see fatality numbers go up even higher than they are now." Marketplace, developed with IBM, will allow drivers — or more often, one hopes, their passengers — to order coffee or food, find gas stations and reserve hotel rooms from their dashboard screens. The technology is set to be uploaded automatically to nearly 1.9 million GM vehicles model-year 2017 and later that are equipped with WiFi hotspots and compatible systems. By the end of 2018, about 4 million Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles will be equipped with Marketplace. The app will debut with a limited number of participating retailers, including TGI Fridays, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, with more likely to join later. Online retail giant Amazon is also partnering with automakers such as Ford to bring e-commerce capabilities inside the car through its Alexa personal assistant. While convenience is nice, one other thing is becoming clear as the IoT wedges its way into our cars: It's taking aim at some decidedly first-world problems.Related Video: Image Credit: GM Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Technology Infotainment in-car entertainment marketplace e-commerce
