1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible on 2040-cars
Blanding, Utah, United States
This was one of several older cars that I purchased a couple years ago. It has been sitting out, unprotected from the elements and thieves for more than 30 years. Despite that, it is pretty complete and possibly restorable. I don't have the energy to do it so I'm passing on the opportunity to someone else. I know very little about it so I'll show you some pictures and then answer any questions you might have about it. The biggest catch to it is that it is located just outside Blanding, UT 84511. Although we're not at the end of nowhere, you can see it from it (nowhere, that is!) What that means is that it is difficult and expensive to get vehicles hauled from here. Even a minimal hauling charge will run you more than what you'll probably be able to buy the car for. So please take that into consideration before tying up a lot of my time answering your questions or bidding on it. However, if you're truly interested, I will do all I can to answer any and all questions you might have, or provide you with additional pictures as needed. The car is sold where is: as is, with no warranties expressed or implied. I can help load it; but, as far as I know, I don't even have any wheels that would fit on it, so take that into consideration as well when figuring out if you really need it. I do have it for sale locally, but once I get a bid on it, it will no longer be for sale here -- so that I don't waste your time and efforts if you're a sincere bidder. It's a no reserve auction, so the opening bid might just win it..... Call me at 435-459-0591 or email me through ebay for additional information. Buyer is to make a $200 deposit within 48 hours of auction close with the remainder to be determined between us. I have a clear Utah title for it in my name.

GM cutting production at two plants
Thu, Feb 26 2015General Motors is continuing to adjust to excess supply of some of its brands' models. To get production more in line with the vehicles' actual demand, the automotive giant is idling two of its factories in North America in the coming months. The Orion Assembly plant is going to be down from March 9-13, according to an anonymous plant worker and another insider speaking to Automotive News. The factory builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, but there are plenty of both models sitting on dealer lots, including 216 days worth of Sonics, according to AN. The factory already had two idle periods announced to reduce the excess. In addition, downtime is scheduled at GM's "Flex" line at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, plant from April 13-17. This affects supply of the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS. Among them, the automotive giant has the largest supply of Regals ready for dealers with 213 days worth of them, according to AN. The future for the whole Oshawa factory is cloudy in general, though. There are rumors that it could close entirely in the future because the Camaro is leaving and the Regal and XTS might not last much longer than 2017. The Canadian government and the labor union there intend to put up a fight, though. GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years
Fri, Feb 21 2014Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up.
