1962 Chevy Corvair Convertible

I have an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and collectibles.  Once in a while my customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle.

This is one of those items:

We received this beautiful Corvair from a very dear friend in Texas. The Corvair originally came from Tucson, Arizona.  Our friend spared no expense to restore the car to a fabulous condition.

The total cost of the restoration was over 10k.  The car runs and drives like brand new and looks fantastic.  Please refer to the pictures.  Even though our friend spent so much time and money restoring the car he barely drove it as it was just a toy to him.

The car has a new engine, new transmission, new paint job, new carburetor rebuild, new gas tank, new interior, new wheels and new tires, etc.  The restoration was completed several years ago.

Even though the carburetors have been upgraded we have all the original carburetor covers etc per pictures. Please remember that even thought this is a beautiful/mint car it is not a 100 point car.

All the parts have been done by a famous Corvair Specialist and we have all the receipts.

The car runs and drives fantastic and looks like brand new.  It comes with a clear Texas title and all it needs is a new home.  We can deliver to a short distance for a very reasonable price within Texas.

All the inspections must be done before the auction closes.

Remember that this classic automobile is 51 years old.  Please remember that things always look better in pictures.  So you are more than welcome to come see it in person.

Your bid is your contract.  Please place bids only if you are serious about buying the item. If you are the winning bid, you are entering into a legal binding contract to purchase the item.

We require a $300 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding closes and the remaining balance within a week.  Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The automobile will be sold as is, with no warranty or guarantee.

We reserve the right to cancel any bid for excessive negative feedback.  And I may also advertise it locally.

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN

Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years

Fri, Feb 21 2014

Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up. GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.
