Driven three times weekly until 10 years ago, then once a week until 7 years ago (when gas tank was removed for cleaning).Garage stored most of ownership, all of last 10 years. Typical FC wheel well rust, passenger side floor pan needs to be replaced. Remainder of passenger compartment has minimal surface rust. Original 1962 rubber floor mats now covered by front to rear black carpeting. Middle seat can face front or back. Body is in excellent shape,(some bondo work done when I bought it on right rear corner) chrome bumpers front and rear, all glass present and intact (needs fuzzies). 110 engine (non-original) with stock 4-speed transmission. Hasn't been started in last 7 years, but turns easily by hand/belt. All six doors open and close securely (need weatherstripping). This is a worthwhile restoration project, or with just a bit of work, reliable daily driver."

I have owned this 'Brier for 27 years, drove it approximately 3 times per week until ten years ago when I closed my business, then once a week until seven years ago when it was pretty much put into storage. Excellent body with some minor exceptions-fantastic for a vehicle of its age, over 50 years now. It has original four speed transmission, all original glass with no cracks, interior was redone some years ago but looks virtually new.

Vehicle hasn't been run in past seven years since gas tank was removed for cleaning (then lost my job and moved a couple of times-van was always garage stored) but engine turns easily by hand or using the fan belt.
Cons: will need passenger side floor replaced, a little work on driver's side, only other rust through on interior is a small (less than 1") hole about halfway back at edge of passenger compartment on driver's side. Typical FC wheel well rust, some minor rock ding rust on front. Brakes have lost pressure probably due to rotted rubber lines. Needs new headliner, dash should be repainted. Van will need weatherstripping and fuzzies. Since it is non-running, it will need to be trailered.
Pros: This vehicle is original right down to front and center rubber floor mats (now covered by front to rear carpeting I had made for vehicle. Interior alone is worth the cost of the low reserve . Garage stored most of ownership, all of last 10 years. Middle seat can face front or back. Chrome bumpers front and rear. Both padded visors and tire cover match interior vinyl.
This is an excellent restoration project, or with just a bit of work, a reliable daily driver.

Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)

GM natural gas-powered vans recalled due to possible leak

Wed, Sep 24 2014

General Motors is recalling almost 3,200 of its compressed-natural-gas powered utility vans because of possible leaks. GM and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released a notice last week saying that 3,196 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana CNG vans are on recall, though no accidents have been reported due to the possible issue. The recall is specifically for vans for model years ranging from 2011 to 2014. The recall stems from a potential leak from the compressed natural gas high-pressure regulator, and such a leak could cause a fire or explosion. GM will replace the vehicles' high-pressure regulator in order to fix the problem, will do it free of charge and is instructing owners to contact Chevrolet or GMC customer service to arrange for the parts replacement. Utility vehicle makers like General Motors have pushed for fleet sales of CNG-powered vans and trucks for the past few years and have touted them for their cheaper refueling costs relative to standard gasoline, not to mention the fact that natural gas can be readily sourced from throughout North America (thanks, fracking). According to CNGPrices.com, compressed natural gas sells for about $2.22 a gallon, on average, while the AAA is pegging the average price of gas at $3.34 a gallon. NHTSA has posted information on the recall here. Featured Gallery News Source: NHTSA via Reuters Green Chevrolet GM GMC Natural Gas Vehicles CNG gmc savana

GMC Hummer EV SUV first drive, RIP Camaro, Ferrari Roma Spider | Autoblog Podcast # 773

Fri, Mar 24 2023

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by News Editor Joel Stocksdale. They start off with one of the week's biggest official news items — the impending death of the sixth-gen Chevrolet Camaro. On the subject of powerful American cars, they pivot to a teaser from Stellantis execs that there are big things ahead for its Dodge Charger SRT Daytona Banshee concept. From there, they look at Ferrari's new topless Roma and then get into Ford's multi-billion-dollar electric vehicle pivot. Speaking of expensive EVs, Joel just got back from driving the new GMC Hummer SUV. He also had the new F-150 Lightning Pro in his driveway, and that's followed by Greg's update on Autoblog's long-term Toyota Sienna.  Autoblog Podcast # 773 Get The Podcast Apple Podcasts – Subscribe to the Autoblog Podcast in iTunes Spotify – Subscribe to the Autoblog Podcast on Spotify RSS – Add the Autoblog Podcast feed to your RSS aggregator MP3 – Download the MP3 directly Rundown News Chevrolet Camaro production will officially end after 2024 model year Dodge CEO teases more to come from Charger SRT Daytona Banshee Ferrari Roma Spider returns a front-engined soft top to the lineup Ford Model e losing billions as it says EV unit should be seen as startup What we're driving Ford F-150 Lightning Pro 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV 2023 Toyota Sienna Platinum AWD Feedback Email – Podcast@Autoblog.com Review the show on Apple Podcasts Autoblog is now live on your smart speakers and voice assistants with the audio Autoblog Daily Digest.
