1960 Chevrolet Corvair. This car has a bunch of new parts as you can see in the pics. Some of what has been replaced : front wheel cylinders, master cylinder, door weatherstrip, vent glass seals, door fuzzies, windshield seal, rear cardboard inside, carpet, door panels, headliner, seat covers, trunk seal, points, condenser, spark plugs, fuel tank, sending unit, fuel lines, most brake lines, and probably a bunch of small stuff I am forgetting. The car is nice as far as corvairs go. Its not a show car. It was stripped down to bare metal and painted a few years ago. It shows a few small rust spots bubbling and could use a buffing, but overall, the paint is very nice. There were some patches welded in to the floor. The interior has been redone within the past year. Its not perfect, but also very nice. The fuel tank was removed, cleaned out and reinstalled with new brackets and a new sending unit. The car has an electric fuel pump installed in the engine bay. The tires don't show much wear, but the car hasn't been driven much so they are showing some cracks. It starts right up and drives nice. I havnt had it out on the road too much, so I would recommend getting it transported if it sells out of state. I don't see any issue with driving it, but I always get people asking if they can fly in and drive it home. That's your call. The car should have the rear wheel cylinders rebuilt. They work, but are sometimes sticky. The fronts are new. The car needs a muffler, but that's no big deal. There is a small crack in the drivers side of the windshield in the top corner. All of the lights work. I had two speakers installed in the rear quarter area, but since there is no radio, the wires are just ended under the dash. This is a fun little car, but I have way too many vehicles and this one sits around a lot more than its out. I don't expect to get anywhere near the amount I have invested, so bid to win. The reserve is half of what I spent over the past few years .Obviously there is no warranty on the car. Any questions, send me an email with your number and I will get back to you asap. Please don't bid if you have no intention to buy. I have a clear title to the car ready to go.

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
Was the C7 Corvette cut from Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show?
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Someone was bound to receive a free 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Super Bowl XLVII festivities; it just wasn't who we thought it was going to be. Despite a report back in December that superstar Beyoncé Knowles would be getting an all-new Corvette during her halftime performance, that turned out not to be the case. Joe Flacco, starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, did in fact win a Corvette for his MVP performance.
So what transpired that prevented Beyoncé from rolling on stage in the new Chevrolet? Anyone who knows isn't telling, but according to Yahoo! Autos, General Motors said that for one reason or another a deal "did not work out," and it appears to have been an eleventh-hour change. Regardless of who's to blame or what prevented this from happening, we're sure Chevy has had no problems getting attention for the C7 Corvette since it was introduced last month.
Chevy Volt replacement battery cost varies wildly, up to $34,000
Fri, Jan 10 2014There's a growing hubbub in the plug-in vehicle community over what looks like some ridiculously cheap replacement batteries for the Chevrolet Volt going up for sale. GM Parts Online, for example, is selling a replacement Volt battery with an MSRP of $2,994.64 but, with an online discount, the price comes down to $2,305.88. For the 16-kWh pack in the 2012 Volt, that comes to a very low $144.11 per kilowatt hour (kWH). But is it a real deal? How can it be, when a Chevy dealer may quote you a price of up to $34,000 to replace the pack? For a 16-kWh Volt pack, $2,305.88 comes to a very low $144.11 per kWh. But is it a real deal? Battery packs in alternative propulsion vehicles are usually priced by the kWh and, historically, they've been thought to be in the range of $500-per-kWh for OEM offerings. Since automakers are understandably secretive about their costs, we still don't know what the real number is today, but we do know it varies by automaker. Tesla, for example, has said it pays less than $200-per-kWH at the cell level but, of course, a constructed pack would be more. Whatever is going on, li-ion battery prices are trending downward. So, $144.11 certainly sounds great, but what's the story here? Kevin Kelly, manager of electrification technology communications for General Motors, reminded AutoblogGreen that GM Parts Online is not the official GM parts website and that, "the costs indicated on the site are not what we would charge our dealers or owners for a replacement battery. There would be no cost to the Volt owner if their battery needs replacement or repair while the battery is under the eight year/100,000 mile limited warranty coverage provided by Chevrolet." A single price tag also can't be accurate for everyone, Kelly said. "If the customer needs to have their battery repaired beyond the warranty, the cost to them would vary depending on what needs to be replaced or repaired (i.e. number of modules, which specific internal components need replacement, etc.)." he said. "So, it's hard for us to tell you exactly what the cost would be to the customer because it varies depending on what might need to be repaired/replaced. As a result, the core charge would vary." But, is the $2,300 price even accurate for anyone? Thanks to a reader comment, we see that this similar item on New GM Parts makes it look like the lithium-ion modules that Kelly mentioned – where a lot of the expensive bits are – are not included.
