2009 Chevrolet Colorado Lt Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 3.7l on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
This one-owner 2009 Chevrolet Colorado 4 wheel drive LT is in exceptional condition and being offered well below retail price. This low mileage Texas vehicle has less than 32,000 miles, all maintenance was performed on time, is documented, and the original window sticker is available as well. Factory warranty until June 2014. It has never been in an accident and the paint is all original and very shiny. There are minor scratches that are to be expected on a vehicle of this age and the only one or note is on the passenger’s side rear bed (see pic). It is a surface scratch and should buff out. Aftermarket options include an $800 plus Undercover Classic Tonneau locking fiberglass bed cover that is color-matched and in perfect condition. The truck is being offered for auction without the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar. The installed baseplate and wiring harness package is worth approximately $1,000. If the winning bidder would like to purchase the tow bar, it is being offered at an additional $800. OVERALL CONDITION: You would be hard pressed to find a nicer example of a 2009 Colorado. This truck is as clean as the pictures represents with only minor interior and exterior wear and tear. The engine runs flawlessly and the transmission shifts on queue. There are no known mechanical issues with this vehicle and you can confidently bid on it without reservation. In fact, the vehicle can be seen by appointment before you bid. The winning bidder must pay a $1,000 deposit within 48 hours of the auction’s end via PayPal. The remaining balance must be received within 5 days on the auction’s end. The only acceptable method of payment for that balance will be cash or certified check. If a certified check is the selected method, my bank must verify funds before the vehicle and/or the title will be released. If you are the winning bidder, all transport responsibilities are yours. I will assist in delivering the vehicle to the local carrier of your choice, provided you make all arrangements and pay for transport. If you are not local and are flying in to drive the vehicle home, I will make arrangements to meet you at the airport. |

Bob Lutz says Tesla remains 'fringe' brand
Sun, Sep 28 2014We've said it before, we'll said it again: Bob Lutz gives great quotes. From his toilet-themed opinion of global warming to Toyota's deity status, the man knows how to get your attention. His latest? Saying that Tesla Motors is and will remain a fringe brand. Take that, Tesla fanbois. This, of course, is the same fringe company that prompted Lutz and his former colleagues at General Motors to start working on the Chevy Volt around eight years ago. The same fringe company that has easily outsold the similarly priced (but don't call it a competitor) Cadillac ELR with its Model S. Lutz did clarify that the fringe status will only last until Tesla comes out with a mass-market electric vehicle that has a range of 200 to 300 miles. Lutz was on CNBC talking about the TSLA stock's recent performance, and he pointed out that even Tesla CEO Elon Musk says that the California automaker's stock is overvalued these days. Despite its prevalence around these parts, Tesla is not yet a household brand. But the company is working hard to get a cheaper, long-range EV to market in the not-too-distant future, so this fringe thing may not last much longer than that show Fringe did. Former Fisker CEO has some advice for Tesla Motors
Wed, Oct 22 2014Former Fisker Automotive CEO and ex-Chevrolet Volt vehicle-line director Tony Posawatz has some words of caution for Tesla Motors. The long-time automaker executive questions the California automaker's long-term viability – and gives some praise – in a talk with Benzinga, which you can listen to below. While the all-wheel-drive D that Tesla unveiled earlier this month in Southern California wowed a packed crowd, Posawatz (starting at around minute 4:45 in the interview) says Tesla would've been better off taking the resources it expended toward that Model S upgrade and directed them towards speeding up the development of a more affordable plug-in. Perhaps a number of investors agreed, since the company's stock fell the day after the D was announced. Posawatz says Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of ZEV credits. Posawatz also says that Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of zero-emissions vehicle credits in California for its earnings and questions whether the automaker will ever work at a large enough scale to sufficiently drive down costs and make consistent profits. Tesla CEO Elon Musk would take issue with this characterization. Posawatz first made his mark in the plug-in vehicle world when he was the vehicle-line director at General Motors for the Volt extended-range plug-in from 2006 to 2012. Later that year, he joined extended-range plug-in maker Fisker Automotive as its CEO, though quit that job during the summer of 2013 as the company was descending into insolvency. He joined the Electrification Coalition this past March. News Source: Benzinga Green Chevrolet Fisker Tesla Electric PHEV Tony Posawatz
Next-gen Chevy Volt will get 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine
Tue, Oct 28 2014As General Motors gets ready to unveil the new Chevy Volt at the Detroit Auto Show in January, it's starting to reveal a few more details about the updated plug-in hybrid. Today should be fruitful on that front, thanks to an event GM is hosting today that focuses on the new Volt, and we've just had the first bit of new: a bigger engine is coming. Since the beginning, the Volt has used a 1.4-liter, four-cylinder engine as a range extender when the battery runs dry. The second-generation model will instead get a slightly larger 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that will be built in Flint, MI. That's a step up from the various engines that have been a part of the 2016 Volt's rumored mills, everything from a 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter three-cylinder to a 2.0-liter turbo. The confirmation about the new 1.5-liter powerplant was found in Automotive News, where we also heard again that GM is going to start building the new Volt's electric drive unit in Detroit, moving production up from Mexico. We will have more information on the 2016 Chevy Volt later today.
