1977 Chevy Cheyenne Pickup on 2040-cars
Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States
This truck belonged to my Grandfather who bought it new in 1977 from Burwell Chevrolet in Spartanburg, SC. He had an older, 60's model Chevrolet truck and someone ran a red light and totaled it so he bought this one. I rode in it many times as a teenager and remember the day he bought it. He had a small farm and worked at a local cotton mill and drove this truck to work everyday. After he passed away it became my fathers who drove it very little. For several years the truck sat outside and caused the paint to fade on the top of the truck. We took it to a local detail shop who did a great job cleaning it up but their buffer almost burned through the paint on two spots on the hood. You can see these spots in the pictures. The paint is all original and in pretty good shape. I tried to take as many pictures as possible. There are small black specks on the hood of the truck from where is sat outside, again, recently. It looks like something that fell out of the trees. I waxed it and many of them came off. I think some good polishing compound with some elbow grease would get the rest off. The door frame on the drivers and passengers side have significant scratching. Again, I tried to take detailed pictures. The interior is in great shape. Daddy thinks it is the original seat cover is original but I seem to remember my Grandfather having it re-covered. Regardless it is very clean and nice inside. Everywhere I drive the truck people comment on it and how good it looks to be so old. It runs good. Within the last two years Daddy has had significant work done including: New radiator, New AC components, New hoses, New shocks, and a New carburetor. Take a look at the pictures and if you need more let me know. If you have FaceTime I would be happy to do a live walk around and show you everything in as much detail as possible and answer any questions.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette
Thu, 14 Feb 2013When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
Car Club USA: Louisiana Mudfest
Tue, Jun 16 2015There's nothing quite like mudding. Big tires, huge power, and crazy-wild gearheads that like to throw down on a mud pit almost as much as a thirty rack of Coors. In the latest, and some might argue greatest yet episode of Car Club USA, we head to Louisiana to throw some dirt at Mudfest. As Louisiana's one and only Mouth of the South puts it, "If you don't mud ride... go to Texas I guess." Joining The Mouth and friendly rivals The Most Hated Mud Sluts, we dive in. Beyond the obvious V8 blasting and tractor-tire spinning, those who know best describe Mudfest as, "Good cooking, good friends, good fun, and a lot of partying." It's a motorsport spectacle unlike any you're likely to find up North or out West, though no less impressive to behold. Follow along with the fun, the impromptu drag racing, the trash talking, and the mechanical madness. And find out why, at Mudfest, "if we don't tear it up, we ain't done it right." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. From Main Street cruises to off-road trails, catch all the latest car club activity on Autoblog. Chevrolet Ford Jeep RAM Truck Off-Road Vehicles Car Club USA Videos autoblog black
Chevy confirms Corvette Stingray Convertible for Geneva
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Want proof that General Motors has increased global ambitions for its 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray? It's staging the world premiere of the model's convertible variant at the Geneva Motor Show early next month.
As previously rumored, the droptop rendered above will debut at the Swiss show, making its first appearance anywhere on March 5. According to Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet, the location makes sense because Corvette "...is an icon that has long been recognized and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."
While neither Chevrolet nor the Corvette has a major sales presence in Switzerland, the Bowtie's European headquarters is located in Zurich (about three hours to the northeast of Geneva) and GM has made it clear that it wants to build the Chevrolet brand up across Europe.
