1972 Chevrolet C-10 Cheyenne Super on 2040-cars
Louisville, Mississippi, United States
1972 Chevrolet C-10 Cheyenne Super The truck is very well optioned. Truck is fairly straight overall for its age, but it does have the common rust found in these trucks. The truck was stored in a barn for several years. It was sitting on incline, so any water that got to it ran to the passenger side. It has the typical rust beneath the battery tray on the inner fender well and on the core support beneath the tray. Also has the rust in the bottom of the tailgate. Has rust along the lower areas of the passenger door and passenger front fender. It has a rust spot in the passenger side wall of the bed, and a few rust spots in the firewall. Some surface rust around the edges of the roof. The floor cab mounts are solid as well as the floor in the cab of the truck. I have most of the original factory papers that come with the truck when bought new including the warranty card, build sheets, etc. I have a bonded title for the truck. I did not receive the original title when I purchased the truck. The truck IS a factory a/c truck. The compressor and brackets will need to be installed, but I do have them. The truck has original 350 engine, turbo 350 trans. and factory hounds tooth seat cover in fair shape. Also has factory tachometer, tilt steering, and power steering. New Edelbrock intake, Hedman headers, plugs and wires, and distributor, alternator, radiator, brake booster, and master cylinder. I'm going to double check before I post the exact miles on here. SOLD AS IS. This truck is not currently running. With a new carb, gas tank, tires and rebuilt brakes, it could be driveable, but there is no mistake that this IS a project. To be a show truck, it would require a lot of work. If you're not seriously interested in an in-depth project truck, I ask you to please not bid or flood the seller with questions. Buyer will arrange/ pay for pickup/ shipping. |

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
Motor Trend wheels the 2015 Corvette Z06
Tue, Nov 25 2014The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is capable of some absolutely wild metrics. Want proof? Carlos Lago from Motor Trend is here to break it all down. 60 miles per hour? 3.2 seconds. 60 to 0? 91 feet. Lateral acceleration? A staggering 1.16g, a figure that is the highest MT has ever recorded for a vehicle that isn't a race car. It's an utterly astonishing piece of work, this Z06, and just when you think it can't possibly get any more impressive, Randy Pobst hustles an auto-equipped Z06 around Road Atlanta in just 1:30. Aside from the eight-speed auto, Pobst's Z06 had the most aggressive aerodynamic package, the so-called Stage III. Take a look at the 650-horsepower Z06 in Motor Trend's latest video.
GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall
Tue, Apr 14 2015Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments.
