History of the car- original female owner bought the car new at England-Cook Chevrolet in Lansing, MI on 7-6-70 and was very anal about taking care of it and keeping it maintained and repaired if needed, even if it had a dash rattle it was taken to the dealer, the car was original Beigh the original owner got tired of the color and rather than buying a new car had it repainted copper in 1982, the paint still has a beautiful shine, the original owner drove the car in summers until 1992 when it reached near 100k miles then tucked it away in a heated garage and only drove it on special occasions until it they sold it in 2009, since 09 it has been driven and enjoyed in the summer months and has had about 11k miles put on it between 09 and now and is showing 111k miles on the odometer,
Body is as solid as they come with just a little paint blistering starting around the vinyl top trim where it meets the paint, and just a hint of bubbling starting on the trunk lid about the size of a pencil eraser the under side is excellent with no rust/rot and all original, the same with the inside of trunk
Interior- all original, never been touched, and in great condition, the front seats have a seam split in the middle of the lower seat
all interior lights, gages, wipers, heat, turn signals, even the original radio works, the horn is not working but you can here it clicking and there is power all the way to the horns themselves but I believe the horn itself is bad, the A/C does kick on but blows hot so it would need a recharge
Trim-is in excellent condition, and shines very nice with no dings, both bumpers shine nice with no rust or pitting
Glass is all in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks.........weatherstrip is all in excellent condition ,,,,,,
exterior lights the headlights are original T3 and all work except the high beam on driver side, I do have a brand new headlight but I don't want to put it in because once I do it's not original anymore but the new one will come with the car, all other lights are in perfect working condition
wheels are the original rally wheels that came on the car
options- Sport Coupe, A/C, rear defroster, 350 V8 @ 250 hp, Turbohydro trans, power steering, power disc brakes, remote mirror, vinyl roof, rear speaker, am/fm radio, EZI Glass,
Driveability- this car runs and drives great with the only known issue being a very small exhaust leak at the heat riser on the manifold, and it's not too loud or obnoxious but you can here it, and it doesn't effect anything it's just a little annoying
To sum it up this is a rare find a Clean unmolested survivor that has all the documentation to support it's history, you can drive this car as is or with very little work you could restore it to it's former glory either way you will have a very nice and desirable 1970 Chevelle Malibu!!

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.

A new report from UC Davis claims that a global expansion of public transit could save 1,700 megatons of carbon dioxide yearly and over $100 trillion by 2050. A "high-shift scenario" would be necessary, wherein governments invest in rail and clean buses, expand biking and walking infrastructure and shift focus away from projects that encourage car use. This shift to public transit would especially be important in the US, China and India. Read more in the press release below.
