Full Restoration Just Completed! 100 Miles! True Super Sport 454/450 12 Ps Pb's on 2040-cars
Kansas City, Missouri, United States
1970 TRUE SUPER SPORT CHEVELLE! JUST COMPLETED A FULL RESTORATION LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AGO! ALL NEW, FRONT TO BACK, NOT A DIME SPARED! POWERED BY A FRESHLY BUILT 454/450HP MOTOR! LOADED WITH POWER STEERING, FRONT DISC BRAKES, AND IT'S ORIGINAL 12 BOLT POSI REAR END! OVER 50K INVESTED! It has taken just over a year to complete this full restoration. It has only been a week since the interior was completed and less than thirty days since the paint work was completed. Over all, the car has just about 100 miles on it since being completed. Originally, this was a 396 car. Today, it is powered by a professionally built 454 big block that is pushing over 450 horsepower. Just standing next to it, you can feel the Earth rumble below your feet. Now punch the gas and even the bravest human being will start clinching for dear life. Body: The body on this Chevelle still retains the majority of its original sheet metal. Surprisingly it did not need all of the typical sheet metal replacement. It still retains its original floors, doors, roof, rear sill, cowl, rockers, and frame rails. The sheet metal that was replaced consisted of brand new full quarters, a one piece trunk pan, and trunk drops. All of this work was done professionally. This car is completely solid, rust free, and exceptionally straight. The body was taken off of the frame and new body bushings installed. The paint work was also done professionally. It has no blemishes, cracks, bubbling, nor any other issues. Not often can this be said but the paint looks just as nice in person as it does within the photos. All of the chrome through out the Chevelle is new. The front and rear bumpers are new. The head lights and bezels are new. The majority of the stainless is new or has been refurbished. The wheel house moldings are all new. All of the weather stripping, cowl covers, door inserts, everything is brand new. The front disc brake setup is all brand new. From the booster, all the way to the end of the lines. It is all brand new. The front suspension is also new as is the rear suspension. On the rear, we used a brand new set of NOS GM air shocks. Engine & Mechanical: The 454 within this Chevelle has been completely rebuilt. It was built with a mild cam and performance heads. It has around one hundred miles on it since being completed. It does not smoke, leak, or burn an excess amount of fluid. It does run on pump gas but does require the higher octane (premium) fuel. When the body work was completed, the motor was dropped in the Chevelle so it was the second major item that was completed on this Chevelle. The 350 Turbo transmission does have a shift kit and it too was completely rebuilt. It shifts out smoothly with no problems and takes full advantage of the lower end torque. If you dump the gas, it will just sit and roast the tires. The power steering setup on this Chevelle was a remanufactured unit. The original front disc brake setup was completely disassembled and replaced with a brand new and more modern front disc brake setup. All of it is brand new. The original 12 bolt posi was also taken apart and regreased. It works flawlessly which you will see within the video located below. The exhaust is also all new. Interior: With the exception of the original Super Sport dash, gauges, and back half of the center console, every inch of the interior is brand new. The headliner, front & rear door panels, package tray, visors, console insert, door & window handles, dash pad, steering wheel, carpet, door sills, front & rear seat covers, backs, overhead light, it is all brand new. This work was also done professionally and looks excellent. When you first enter in to the Chevelle it smells like new. There are definitely plenty of 70 Chevelles out there to choose from. Unfortunately though, there are not that many fully restored ones that haven't been ran through the ringer or patched together. With our Chevelle, you can take comfort in knowing that you are getting a new car that hasn't been on the road long enough to even be considered misused nor abused. In short, there is NO AGE to this car so if you're wanting your very own newborn, you've found it. I will be evaluating all reasonable offers and I will in fact sell the Chevelle early as we do have it for sale "locally". I strongly encourage anyone who is interested to please call or email to schedule a time to come check it out. I would also like to add that I am usually on the phone from 7 AM until about 12 AM so you are always welcome to call and if I do not answer, just leave a message and I will return your call immediately. I know from my own experience with purchasing cars online, most of the time it is very difficult to get someone on the phone and to obtain the information you need. So I try to always stay on top of emails and phone calls. I do have a clear title for this Chevelle. As always, good luck and happy bidding! Thanks, Shawn (816) 308-0351

Is this GM's next electric crossover?
Thu, Nov 16 2017GM made headlines this week when CEO Mary Barra presented the company's electrification and automation plans at the Barclays Global Automotive Conference in New York. "We are committed to a future electric vehicle portfolio that will be profitable," Barra said, which could be taken as a jab at Tesla. In the presentation ( PDF here), though, we see a new vehicle in a slide titled "Leveraging existing BEV platform to expand in near term." The vehicle, seen above, accompanied the captions "New CUV entries" and "two entries by 2020." Is this a sneak preview of an upcoming electric crossover from GM? The image seems too realistic and intentional to be a random placeholder. If this is, indeed, an upcoming battery-electric CUV based on the Bolt, the question remains: Will it be a Chevy or a Buick? It has no visible badging, but it shares DNA from both brands. As Inside EVs points out, though, it does bear a resemblance to the Chevrolet FNR-X concept unveiled in Shanghai earlier this year. With two CUVs on the way, it's not unthinkable that there could be a version for each brand. In addition to this slide, the presentation includes plans for an "All new multi-brand, multi-segment platform" launching in 2021. The all-new modular battery system will cost less than $100 per kWh, providing higher energy density and faster charging. The platform will host at least nine different vehicles, including a compact crossover, seven-seat luxury SUV and a large commercial van. GM has said it will launch 20 new EVs by 2023, and that it targets 1 million EV sales per year by 2026. Many of those sales will be in China. Related Video:
GM isn't liable for punitive damages in ignition switch cases
Wed, Nov 20 2019NEW YORK — A federal appeals court said General Motors is not liable for punitive damages over accidents that occurred after its 2009 bankruptcy and involved vehicles it produced earlier, including vehicles with faulty ignition switches. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan said on Tuesday that the automaker did not agree to contractually assume liability for punitive damages as part of its federally-backed Chapter 11 reorganization. GM filed for bankruptcy in June 2009, and its best assets were transferred to a new Detroit-based company with the same name. The other assets and many liabilities stayed with "Old GM," which is also known as Motors Liquidation Co. Tuesday's 3-0 decision may help GM reduce its ultimate exposure in nationwide litigation over defective ignition switches in several Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn models. It is also a defeat for drivers involved in post-bankruptcy accidents, including those who collided with older GM vehicles driven by others, as well as their law firms. The ignition switch defect could cause engine stalls and keep airbags from deploying, and has been linked to 124 deaths. A lawyer for the drivers and their law firms did not immediately respond to requests for comment. GM had no comment. Circuit Judge Dennis Jacobs said GM's agreement to acquire assets "free and clear" of most liabilities excused it from punitive damages claims for Old GM's conduct. He also noted that the judge who oversaw the bankruptcy concluded that the new company could not be liable for claims that the "deeply insolvent" Old GM would never have paid. The decision upheld a May 2018 ruling by U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in Manhattan, who oversees the ignition switch litigation. Drivers have sought a variety of damages in that litigation, including for declining resale values. GM has recalled more than 2.6 million vehicles since 2014 over ignition switch problems. It has also paid more than $2.6 billion in related penalties and settlements, including $900 million to settle a U.S. Department of Justice criminal case. Mary Barra reportedly confirms GM's electric pickup truck plans
Tue, Apr 30 2019According to Motor Authority, CEO Mary Barra confirmed General Motors' intentions to build an electric pickup truck this week. Whether or not it would be an all-new vehicle is unknown. The news comes not even a week after Ford announced a $500 million investment in electric-vehicle startup Rivian. First, electric powertrains were integrated into cars. Then came the crossovers and the SUVs. Naturally, then, the next wave will be pickup trucks. Ford is set to produce an electric F-150, Rivian has the R1T, and now General Motors has reportedly confirmed its plans to introduce a competitor into the field. The article says the topic was brought up in a recent investor call as part of a brief overview of the automaker's electrification strategy. That's where the details end, however, as there is no indication of a timeline, what GM brand would carry the truck, or whether it would be an entirely new product or an adaptation of a current model. The latter seems most likely, which points to the Chevrolet Silverado or the GMC Sierra as possibilities. Chevrolet has been GM's electrification leader this decade with the Bolt and Volt, so an electric Silverado would align well with that messaging and branding. However, an electric pickup would likely be a pricier premium product, which could align it better with GMC. Autoblog has reached out to GM for comment and will update this space when we get a response. Green Rumormill Chevrolet GMC Truck Electric Future Vehicles Mary Barra electric truck chevrolet silverado
