Shown above is a modified 1967 Chevelle Super Sport. I have known this car since the 1980s and have been the owner for the last ten years. This car does not have a trim tag on the firewall. The tag went missing during body restoration years ago and was never found. The V.I.N. tag is still on the driver side door frame. It IS a 138 code Chevelle and titled to me as such in Maryland. When I last rode in this car it was red with black interior. It has an altered front sub frame and setup for the engine to be hard mounted with a 2" set back. There are disc brakes on all four corners and has a Ford 9" rear with 4.30 gears (positraction). Body work was done by High Expectation Auto Restoration, Inc. in Front Royal (VA) and frame work (boxed) was done by Martz Chassis Works (PA).The car has double driveshaft loops and Moser axles (31 splined). Steering box is 79 Ford (manual) coupled to a Borgeson steering shaft. Floor and trunk pans have been replaced. The SS had been set up with an 8 point roll cage for racing but was removed by me due to interference with the stock interior. I ditched the racing seat that was in the car when I bought it and purchased stock seats and recovered them in the stock 67 SS pattern in black The previous owner sold the original hood but I have a NIB replacement that I purchased. I also have new front and rear glass (side glass is original) as well as most (if not all) new trim and emblems. Because of frame reinforcement a stock fuel tank cannot be used. It will require a smaller tank or a fuel cell. The doors are off the car to allow access while being worked on but are in primer as well.
If you are looking for a "stock" 67 Chevelle SS, this is NOT the car for you. It is meant and built to handle some serious horsepower....either on the strip or on the street.

What we know, and think we know, about the 2016 Chevy Volt
Wed, Aug 13 2014With the next-gen Chevy Volt due to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show early next year, bits and pieces about the new car are making their way into the press. Perhaps most importantly, the new Volt is going to have better "fuel economy and efficiency," according to GM executive vice president Mark Reuss. The current Volt gets 98 MPGe and 37 miles per gallon on premium fuel. It also has a 38-mile electric-only range. We don't know how GM will improve the efficiency or to what degree, but the logical options include making the car lighter, giving it better aerodynamics and/or improving the powertrain. To that end, one of the big things we don't know for sure includes information on the new gas-powered engine. Forbes says it will be a downsized 1.0-liter, three-cylinder mill instead of the 1.4-liter, four-cylinder used in the current model, which could certainly help the car be more efficient. The new Volt is also going to have more technology, which shouldn't surprise anyone. GM is now openly talking about how it will change the way it markets the Volt, shifting away from the mass-market mentality to focus on the regions where the car is already popular. "There's a Northeast and West Coast market for Volt, and there's nothing wrong with that," Chevy chief marketing officer Tim Mahoney told Forbes. There are rumors that the new Volt will have seating for five by adding a seat in the back. This is something a lot of current Volt owners would love, but we've heard nothing official hinting that this would be the case. We expect the battery to be the new 17.1-kWh version, or maybe even have a capacity increase, so GM would have to seriously repackage the pack to eliminate the ridge that runs from between the front seats and then back to the rear two seats. If you've heard anything official, do let us know.

Europeans ask Chevy to bring Volt back to Europe
Fri, Aug 14 2015A group of French fans is asking for a jolt of support from General Motors to get the 2016 Chevrolet Volt across the pond. The Association Amperistes et Amis des Vehicules Rechargeables is running a Change.org petition that currently has 383 signatures out of a goal of 500. While the attempt is admirable, it's probably going to take a lot more than several hundred people for the model to make a return to the continent after the poor showing of the Opel Ampera – first-gen Volt's European cousin. The group's major argument for bringing a version of the second-gen Volt to Europe is that consumers need "an intermediate choice between expensive or range-limited pure electric cars and plug-in hybrids with a miserable electric range." Furthermore, such a vehicle would prod the competition to produce similarly efficient electrified models. They also lavish praise on the abilities of the Ampera for its long EV driving range. The supporters aren't entirely kind to GM in the petition, though, and claim the company excluded the original car from marketing efforts there. The Ampera actually enjoyed a strong European launch with more orders than initially expected and briefly topped the best-sellers list among EVs there. It was even named 2012 European Car of the Year. Those halcyon days didn't last long, and by 2014 sales fell off to a trickle. The waning reception caused GM's decision not to introduce a version of the new 2016 Volt there or in Australia. Related Video:
