California Car Solid Floors Excellent Project Car on 2040-cars
Hermosa Beach, California, United States
THIS CHEVELLE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 15 YEARS WITH THE SAME OWNER FOR 30 YEARS. THE CAR CAME WITH AIR CONDITIONING, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, CORVETTE RALLY RIMS AND DUAL EXHAUST. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES, IT HAD SOME BODY DAMAGE TO THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL. OTHER THAN THAT, THE BODY APPEARS TO BE IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE WITH SOLID FLOORS AND A GOOD TRUNK. THE DASH IS NOT CRACKED AND THE CARPET IS GOOD. I NEVER TRIED TO START IT, SO THE CONDITION OF THE MOTOR IS UNKNOWN.
WITH A BIT OF SWEAT, THIS CAR COULD DEFINITELY BE A REALLY NICE CAR AND IT IS A GREAT CANVAS TO START WITH. YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO SAVE THE QUARTER IF YOU ARE AN INCREDIBLE BODY MAN. OTHERWISE, IT WILL MOST LIKELY NEED TO CHANGED. THESE ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND IN THIS SOLID CONDITION. THE CAR IS LOCATED 10 MILES FROM THE
LOS ANGELES AIRPORT ( LAX ). BIDDERS ARE
WELCOME TO COME VIEW THE CAR PRIOR
TO THE END OF THE AUCTION. SOLD WITH A BILL OF SALE AND I COULD GET A TITLE AT THE BUYER'S EXPENSE. IT IS BEING ADVERTISED IN OTHER AREAS SO THE AUCTION CAN END AT ANYTIME, WHICH IS OFTEN THE CASE FOR DECENT ITEMS. IT IS BEING SOLD AS IS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL 310 990-8628. THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION |

GM learning from current Chevy Volt owners as it works on next-gen model
Tue, Sep 16 2014Details of the second-generation Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid are coming in at a trickle, and the latest is that the 2016 model-year Volt will be improved in all meaningful areas, including performance and all-electric range, says General Motors powertrain director Larry Nitz. 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Nitz was speaking to Autoline After Hours about the current and future Volt. He said that GM has been tracking Volt driving habits and found that about two-thirds of the Volts' collective miles are driven in electric mode, and that 81 percent of all Volt trips were done in pure EV mode. Additionally, Volt drivers plug the car in 10 times each week, on average. Nitz also said 82 percent of the Volt's commuting miles are coming from the plug instead of the gas tank. Oh, and 60 percent of Volt customers only charge using a standard 110 outlet. Last month, GM released a teaser shot of the 2016 Volt (above) and said the car would make its worldwide debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show next January. Earlier this year, the Volt was reported to be getting a new chassis for the upcoming version. The Volt could use a bit of new life. Through August, Volt sales were down 12 percent from a year earlier to 13,146 units, and sales plunged 25 percent alone. That compares unfavorably to the Nissan Leaf battery-electric vehicle, whose 2014 sales have jumped 34 percent to almost 19,000 units. You can see Nitz dish the goods in the video below (Volt comments start at around minute 15). You will also notice AutoblogGreen contributor Gary Witzenburg talk about his history with the EV1 and share his take on the Volt. This content is hosted by a third party. Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides
Sat, Apr 26 2014In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu. The grand-prize winner of EcoCar2 will be announced in June. Check out the EcoCar3 website and see the announcement video below for more details. This content is hosted by a third party.
