1966 Chevelle SS Resto Mod was built by drag racer Pete Seaton who was famous in the 1960s and ‘70s for his series of Chevy-based “Seaton’s Shaker” funny cars, and metal-working wizard Al Bergler Many hours have been spent on the complex bends and precise weld beading associated with the hood, interior and trunk. The quality of the work is evident even in the car’s clean undercarriage, where a fully independent late-model Corvette rear suspension, power rack and pinion steering and 4-wheel Girlock disc brakes are featured. Additionally, the rear wheel wells are tubbed to accommodate the car’s huge 18-inch wide Mickey Thompson tires. Power is supplied by a Demon-carbureted 396 CI Chevrolet big block V-8 packing an aggressive hydraulic cam and stainless headers, and mated to a GM 350 Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Executed by Portage Trim in Ohio, the completely custom interior shows the same high level of craftsmanship as the rest of the car. Finished in Grey material with sheet aluminum trim, it incorporates bolstered bucket seats and custom door panels, a custom fabricated center console with B&M shifter and sound system, tilting billet steering wheel and a full contingent of Auto Meter gauge IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS CONCERNING THIS ONE OFF CHEVELLE PLEASE CALL 239-707-4416 |

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
