1970 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle. 91,xxx ORIGINAL MILES. Starts, runs, and drives like a brand new car...and NO I am not exaggerating. Almost EVERYTHING works as it should from the factory. All exterior lights, interior lights, original door buzzer(when key is in ignition), original gauges, dummy lights, etc...Even the original A/C blows ICE COLD!! The ONLY thing that I have found that does not work is the original clock in the dash and original radio...however I would bet that it is only a blow fuse or something. I recently took this car in on trade. I was told this is a complete matching number and rare 70' Chevelle. The only thing that appears to not be original is the wheels/tires and exhaust. Even the interior is as close to MINT and original as you will probably find. I have cruised it a few hundred miles around town and on the interstate with the cold A/C blowing. My wife and daughter love cruising it with me, but we could use the money out of it. I will describe in detail everything that I know about this car, but YOU might know more about this vehicle by looking at the pics than we do..so please look at ALL pictures and videos. I have provided 150+ detailed pictures along with video clips. I have the clean and clear title in hand and ready for a new owner. I believe the reserve price LOW, so put your bid in and bid to buy!! Or of course make a SERIOUS offer. Hopefully with the hours I have invested in taking pictures and making this auction I have answered all questions, but if not, feel free to call: 513-464-TEN 20. Please read everything and view all of the pics/videos prior to calling.
BODY
The original paint looks to either have been touched up or maybe totally repainted 1 time. All of the body lines in between each panel has perfect 1970 factory gaps and looks to have never been taken apart. The hood, both doors, and the trunk open and close with that tight clicking sound that you would expect from an original and solid 70' Chevelle. The underside of both door lips are amazingly clean and not rusty! All of the glass appears to be original and scratch/crack free. When looking down the sides and top of the panels, they look razor straight..however the passenger fender has a dent and the passenger door has a small line dent right below the door handle. Both fenders have rust issues right behind the front wheels. And both quarter panels are starting to rust a little too. All of the frame and floorpans underneath this car appear to be original and extremely SOLID. The only place undercarriage place that I found to have rust is the trunk pan. The trunk pan is solid and even has some of its deteriating 1970 trunk mat still in place, but it is starting to rot/rust as seen in the "interior" category pictures below. Both original chrome bumpers are "driver quality", but not perfect as seen in the pics. I would love to restore it myself and keep it, but like I said I could use the money out of it now. I would personally keep it as original as I could...I would put new fenders on it, do a little bit of bodywork, and repaint it the same factory color...and I would put a new vinyl top and a set of 18" wheels or something on it. I will let the pictures and videos do most of the talking about the body. Cosmetically, it is very solid for being original, but could use restored if someone wanted to restore it!!
ENGINE & DRIVETRANE
This 70' has its original drivetrane. It has a V8-350 mated to an automatic transmission. The engine starts right up everytime and runs amazing. It is very quiet with no exhaust leaks. It looks to have newer dual flowmaster exhaust. All of the sound exits the rear of the car. This Chevelle has power steering and power brakes that works excellent and makes it a pleasure to cruise. The transmission shifts into every single gear perfect. The brakes stop this car hard and straight. It has dual exhaust and there is no exhaust leaks. All of the V8 sound exits the rear. The suspension is surprisingly very comfortable and is an EXTREMELY smooth ride when hitting bumps. The power steering makes the car very easy to drive. You can drive it with 1 finger on the wheel. The steering feels VERY tight and newer which is surprising for being so old. This car runs, shifts, feels, drives, and sounds ALOT better than it currently looks. I do not have the original wheels, what you see is what you get. The rear tires rub a little when driving hitting bumps if you YOU or your passenger weigh more than 250lbs or so...I am exactly 200lbs and with my wife and daughter with me, they almost NEVER rub. It starts right up, idles and revs flawlessly. It cruises down the road amazingly and is an absolute blast to drive!! The only thing I can nitpick about the drivetrane, is that the belt squeeks when it is first started up and cold...but only squeeks one time and stops. There is no noticable leaks, and this car does not mark its spot when parked. All of the fluids(anifreeze, oil, tranny etc..) look good and clean. The only thing you need to worry about when cruising this car, is the attention that it draws.....I would personally feel very comfortable driving this cross country right now.
INTERIOR
The interior is jawdropping...It is like a time machine. The carpet, door panels, seats, dash, and headliner is probably as close to MINT as you will probably find on a 44YR old vehicle. The original door buzzer(when key is in igntion) works! The dome light comes on when opening either door. The windshield wipers work great. The original heater & A/C controls work great and the original A/C blows ice cold which is unbelievable. All of the original lights in the dash and gauge cluster work...even the "bright" lights light comes on when turning them on. The original speedometer works and seems to be pretty accurate! All 4 windows roll up and down smoothly. The ONLY 2 things that I have found that does not work is the original clock in the gauge cluster and the radio, however I would bet that it is probably just a fuse or something. The rear package tray(above/behind the rear seat) has been sun baked over the years and needs replaced. The trunk has a spare wheel and original jack/equipment still intact. I have provided A LOT of detailed pictures below. Keep scrolling through all of the pictures and please view them all. I know there is an overwhelming amount of them, but I want to showcase how cool this 1970 SURVIVOR Chevelle is...

UPDATE 9/14/14 10PM: My reserve price was $12500, but have lowered it to $9400 because something came up and I could use some money out of this car....Someone is going to get a heck of a deal. Just want to let everyone know. Thanks.
GM plans to kill off a couple of great and a few meh cars as part of its restructuring. Here's a rundown of all the cars being phased out of production. None of the vehicles GM axed were SUVs or crossovers. Instead, it was an action reminiscent of what Ford recently decided to do by discontinuing U.S. sales every Blue Oval sedan. GM just didn't explicitly say, "We're killing our cars," like Ford did — probably a smart move by GM. Keep scrolling down to see the full list of deceased GM models. Chevrolet Volt This one was the most surprising of all the cars GM decided to can, primarily because cars with plugs are supposed to be our future. However, maybe consumer demand just isn't quite there yet for a plug-in like the Volt. We came up with all sorts of ideas for what was to blame for the untimely demise of the Volt, so go check that out for a full breakdown of the situation. Cadillac CT6 Here's another car we'll be sad to see go. Cadillac's flagship sedan was such a joy to drive, and it served as the conduit to deliver GM's semi-autonomous Super Cruise system, which still hasn't been surpassed by any other company's technology in our books, even Tesla's Autopilot. That being said, GM does plan to produce the CT6 until March, with the last cars coming off the line set to be twin-turbo V8 V-Series models. If it's going to go, this seems like a pretty great way to make an exit. We'll be patiently awaiting the next flagship Cadillac once this one finally fades away. Chevrolet Impala The Impala is actually a pretty good car. It doesn't sell terribly, and we think it's a completely satisfactory car to drive. However, people would rather have a Traverse or Equinox these days, making the Impala one of the vehicles to find itself on this list. Chevrolet is keeping its smaller brother, the Malibu, but a big, full-size sedan just isn't what people are ordering up these days. It's unfortunate to see it go, but we won't be broken up over it. Chevrolet Cruze We wouldn't rank the Cruze at the top of the compact car class, but if you were looking for a small, cheap American car, it was either this or the Focus. The Cruze had the potential to be a true small performance car if Chevy had ever wanted to make it into one. But sadly, we're seeing it bow out before Chevy ever tried to slot a hot engine and suspension in there to make it competitive with other hot hatches. A Cruze SS would have made enthusiasts take notice.
The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000. More cars are being moved inside the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. to avoid falling down the same sinkhole that swallowed eight classic sports cars early this morning, Autoblog reported. Museum officials said the hole was discovered when motion sensors activated around 5:45 a.m. The rescue mission can be viewed on the museum's live feed cameras, which weren't working after the sinkhole emerged. A 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil," both on loan from General Motors, were among the cars that fell into the sinkhole. The museum owned the other affected Corvettes, which included a 1963 Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car and the 1 millionth Corvette ever produced. The state of the cars at the bottom of the hole isn't known, but trial lawyer and sinkhole expert Ted Corless said the cars may be a total loss for the museum and GM. "Most states, including Kentucky, exclude damage caused by sinkhole activity," he said. "There will be, in all likelihood, a claim made, but a lot of policies would specifically exclude these kinds of damages." Corless has 15 years experience dealing with sinkholes. He said that typically neither the building, nor the cars themselves are protected under their insurance policies. "I would have to say, more likely then not, they're going to have an uninsured loss measured in the hundreds of thousands of dollars." The museum is closed Wednesday while a structural engineer assesses the damage.
