1972 Chevelle SS, True SS car with Two build sheets to prove its authentic. This car is a 9.5 out of 10. Super nice lazer straight solid body. Paint is near perfect with the black SS stripes cleared over. The motor is a 468 big block chevy professionally built by Quality Engine of Fargo. Motor made 600HP on the engine dyno (dyno sheets included). Fully balanced, 9.5.1 Compression so runs on Pump gas 91 octane, AFR Aluminum heads, Comp Cams Hydraulic Roller Camshaft fairly mild specs right around 515 lift (have cam card), Comp Cams roller rockers, Comp Cams roller lifters, Edelbrock single plane intake, Barry Grant's Demon double pump carb, aluminum water pump, ceramic coated headers, MSD HEI distributor and MSD wires etc. The transmission is a TCI Competition TH350 with an automatic valve body so it shifts on its own in drive. You can manually shift it of course if desired. The converter is a Coan 9" 3000 stall. 12 Bolt posi rear with 3.42 gears for street and highway driving, aftermarket axels and C Clip eliminators. Power steering and power disc brakes. Interior is near mint as well with working factory tachometer, speedometer, factory tilt wheel etc. The dash Is the original dash and looks almost new. Factory bucket seats with console with B&M Pro Stick shifter with line lock button mounted in shifter handle. I have the original horse shoe shifter. I installed the B&M when I put the TCI transmission in it. The motor and transmission have no more then 400 miles on them. That's my main reason for selling as it just sits in my garage and never seem to have time to drive it. Tires are very good. I had the factory SS rims powder coated and widened from a company in California. The list goes on and on. A ton of money invested in this car with no money spared during build. This is a top notch car. Pictures do not do the car justice. I do not have a picture saved on my camera of inside the trunk. If anybody needs more pictures just ask and I can take some and email them to you. Trunk is coated with factory grey spatter coat and has the factory trunk mat and jack and spare tire. If you have any questions feel free to email me through ebay here or call or text me at 701-306-9424. NO TRADES.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon get updated tachometers due to graphical error
Sun, Feb 8 2015After James Bearing bought a Chevrolet Colorado, he noticed a discrepancy between the truck's spec sheet and the truck's tachometer: Chevrolet said 3.6-liter V6 in the little pickup produces 305 horsepower at 6,800 rpm, but the the tachometer indicates a redline at 6,500 rpm. So either he wasn't making as much power as he was promised, or the tachometer display was incorrect. Bearing said he asked Chevy about it but got no response. Until now. A General Motors spokesman said the rev limiter is indeed set for 6,800 rpm, but the tach graphics "are slightly off" in the Colorado and the GMC Canyon, and submitted an SAE horsepower certification to back him up. If you're wondering how such a thing got past quality control... well, let's just say you're not alone. GM is going to fix "the graphics on future trucks," which makes it sound like Bearing will just have to learn to live with the indicated redline he's got. He could always pretend he's driving a sleeper, with four more ponies waiting to be unlocked in the danger zone for those who dare. Here are a few of our automotive guilty pleasures
Tue, Jun 23 2020It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. The world is full of cars, and just about as many of them are bad as are good. It's pretty easy to pick which fall into each category after giving them a thorough walkaround and, more important, driving them. But every once in a while, an automobile straddles the line somehow between good and bad — it may be hideously overpriced and therefore a marketplace failure, it may be stupid quick in a straight line but handles like a drunken noodle, or it may have an interior that looks like it was made of a mess of injection-molded Legos. Heck, maybe all three. Yet there's something special about some bad cars that actually makes them likable. The idea for this list came to me while I was browsing classified ads for cars within a few hundred miles of my house. I ran across a few oddballs and shared them with the rest of the team in our online chat room. It turns out several of us have a few automotive guilty pleasures that we're willing to admit to. We'll call a few of 'em out here. Feel free to share some of your own in the comments below. Dodge Neon SRT4 and Caliber SRT4: The Neon was a passably good and plucky little city car when it debuted for the 1995 model year. The Caliber, which replaced the aging Neon and sought to replace its friendly marketing campaign with something more sinister, was panned from the very outset for its cheap interior furnishings, but at least offered some decent utility with its hatchback shape. What the two little front-wheel-drive Dodge models have in common are their rip-roarin' SRT variants, each powered by turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines. Known for their propensity to light up their front tires under hard acceleration, the duo were legitimately quick and fun to drive with a fantastic turbo whoosh that called to mind the early days of turbo technology. — Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski Chevrolet HHR SS: Chevy's HHR SS came out early in my automotive journalism career, and I have fond memories of the press launch (and having dinner with Bob Lutz) that included plenty of tire-smoking hard launches and demonstrations of the manual transmission's no-lift shift feature. The 260-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder was and still is a spunky little engine that makes the retro-inspired HHR a fun little hot rod that works quite well as a fun little daily driver.
