Listing for my dad.

1972 Chevelle SS Clone. Has AC, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Sport Bucket Seats, Center Shift Console, and has a 4" drop spindle kit.

Car has a 454 Big Block with radical cam but still runs off of pump gas, and a TH350 Transmission with shift kit. Has 12 Bolt Posi Rear.

Paint is about from what I can tell an 8 out of 10. Interior is about a 9 out of 10.

Underneath is a 10 out of 10

Under hood is 10 out of 10

Car is in excellent shape. Car is super straight with no visible rust coming through. No rips, tears, stains, or anything inside. The dash is excellent. Glass is excellent. No dents. Car was supposedly restored about 10 years ago. My dad bought this car last year.  My dad is selling because he is retired and needs money to travel.

This car drives like a dream and has plenty of power! You can drive this car anywhere and I hope who ever buys it, intends to give it some good use!

The only bad things I have found in looking over this car and driving it are the cowl induction hood is non-operable because all parts are not there...it is not blocked off though because you can manually function it, has 1 place in the SS stripes in the trunk where buffing got too hot it seems, that is why I gave the paint 8 out of 10 and also has a few surface scratches that look like it will be easy to buff out, some gauges don't work...I haven't went looking for why not but my guess is that they are just not hooked up considering the great shape everything is in, the front speakers are not hooked up but the back are, and if I find anything else between now and then, I will update it on here.

Car is sold AS IS and I have done my best to describe things that I noticed. I do not have the complete history on this car and therefore can only tell you what is in front of me. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. If you have any doubts, make sure you come see before you buy. This car is also being sold locally, and I have the right to end auction at any time. Please only bid if you really intend to buy. I do NOT appreciate people bidding and then emailing me with excuses to back out. Don't waste my time! Only for sale in the U.S. Buyer is responsible for pick up. Thank you and happy bidding!

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.

2019 GMC Sierra revealed with CarbonPro bed and new diesel engine

Thu, Mar 1 2018

It's only March, and it's already been one hell of a year for trucks. January's Detroit Auto Show saw the reveals of the 2019 Ram 1500, 2019 Ford Ranger and the 2019 Chevy Silverado. The Chicago Auto Show brought new versions of the Toyota Tacoma and Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Today, we finally got our first look at the Silverado's twin, the 2019 GMC Sierra. The truck features new styling, a new diesel engine and — on the Sierra Denali — a carbon fiber bed. As with every new full-size truck, the Sierra is larger than the outgoing model in almost every dimension, though exact dimensions haven't been revealed. For reference, though, the Chevy Silverado's bed is 7-inches wider than before. The new Sierra grille is more upright than before and features new C-shaped lighting. The Denali gets LED headlights, tail lights and fog lights. Both SLT and Denali trims get unique 22-inch wheels. As we saw in spy photos, the Sierra's interior is mostly just a copy of the Silverado's with some chrome accents sprinkled throughout. If you like the current truck interiors, you'll be pleased with the new model. Those hoping for a wholesale change will be left wanting. The big improvements inside include a full-color heads-up display, trailer hitch assist apps and cameras, and the rear-camera mirror found in models like the Chevy Traverse and Cadillac CT6. Safety and convenience features include a surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, pedestrian detection and low-speed automatic braking. Like the Silverado, there's been a significant effort to cut weight in the new Sierra. The 2019 model loses as much as 360 pounds compared to the current truck. It uses aluminum for the doors, hood and tailgate. Steel is still used for the fenders, roof and standard cargo box. The Denali, however, gets the real surprise here. Available only on the top-tier trim, the bed box will be constructed of carbon fiber rather than steel, saving 62 pounds. Carbon fiber only replaces the steel inner panels and floor. GMC says the carbon fiber will also help scratch and corrosion resistance. SLT and Denali models also get a new MultiPro tailgate. This is unique to the Sierra and separate from the Silverado's power assist unit. A new feature that helps one get into and out of the bed using an assist handle. The tailgate step has a maximum weight capacity of 375 pounds. There multiple positions that allow customers to extend the bed, or drop the center vertically to gain easier access to the back.

Chevy's low-cost pedestrian avoidance to debut on 2016 Malibu

Tue, Jul 28 2015

The mainstreaming of safety technologies that began on luxury vehicles will get a big boost from General Motors later this year. The General says it plans to offer 22 driver assistance systems across its product portfolio of 2016 models, starting with the redesigned Chevrolet Malibu - the one that we know will keep tabs on teenagers for the benefit of parents. Pedestrian avoidance will be another of its available options. Instead of kitting the sedan out with numerous and expensive radar arrays, the GM system uses the camera mounted next to the rearview mirror that is already used for the lane-keeping function. New software lets it detect pedestrians, and when it detects a potential collision with one, it can alert the driver and brake autonomously if the driver doesn't react. Eventually, engineers want to give it the ability to do the same with cyclists. Because it uses existing hardware updated with new code, GM says the application costs "a few hundred dollars." GM demonstrated the Front Pedestrian Braking preventing a crash with a dummy pedestrian at speeds up to 15 miles per hour. Automotive News reports that it will reduce the severity of impact up to 40 miles per hour, but "may not be of much use in collisions at higher speeds." That feature will also join the options list of the Cadillac CT6. The press release below has more on GM's driver tech soon on the way. Safety engineers will develop and test these and other safety technologies for products around the world at GM's new, 52-acre Active Safety Test Area at its Milford Proving Ground near Detroit. The $14 million facility officially opened Friday. "Our comprehensive safety strategy of helping customers before, during and after a crash continues," said Jeff Boyer, vice president of GM Global Vehicle Safety.
