1972 Chevelle Ss 355 Ci Frame Up Restored on 2040-cars

Salem, Oregon, United States

1972 Chevelle SS 355 CI coupled to a Turbo 350 Trans.  Car was born and raised in California it's entire life until I purchased the vehicle and brought the car to my home in Oregon.  The car has a killer look with all that a real SS would have however, it is a very well done "Clone". Engine and transmission totally rebuilt in 2013 with less than 3000 miles since rebuild.  Engine was bored out 30 over so technically the car is a 355 CI. Rebuilt engine has new rods, bearings, valves, cam lifters, springs, retainers, guides and pistons to name a few of the things that were done. Car was a frame up restoration starting in 2011 and completed in 2013.  I have entered 6 shows this year and came away with 4 trophies. Car will hold it's own a against the the big blocks!

Engine:  355 CI with Hooker competition headers.  The engine was recently dyno tuned runs strong and sounds great!  Engine compartment highly detailed see pictures!

Transmission:  350 Turbo Trans with a Trans cooler mounted on the front of the car in front of the radiator.

Body:  A look down the sides will show you a Lazer straight body.  There are no dings, dents, rock chips or any visible signs of rust.

Interior:  Seats recovered front and back in vinyl, new carpet, new door panels, new headliner, new dash pad, new billet front and back window and door handles.  There is a Kenwood single CD, MP-3 hook up stereo that sounds great!

Suspension:  New front upper and lower tubular A arms with a sway bar.  Standard shocks front and back.

Under-Carriage:  The under- carriage is as clean as the outside of the car with no visible signs of rust.  Receipts show the underneath being sand blasted then painted black.

Paint:  Cortez Silver believed to be sprayed in 2011, looks really nice however, it is not show quality.  I would rate the paint on a scale of 1-10 a 7.5.  Pin Striping professionally done by Spiderman out of Portland, Oregon.

Wheels:  New 20" tires on front and back mounted on new Billet rims.

I prefer selling the car first and foremost however, I would consider a trade up or down for a 66, 67 Nova or a 32 or 37 Ford.  If you have something to trade send me an e-mail through EBAY with details and if I am interested I will give you my e-mail address to send pictures. Please no rust buckets!  I am sure there are details I left out so if you have any questions send me an e-mail with your phone number and I will get back to you ASAP.  I recently had the car appraised and I have the reserve set for thousands below appraised value.  This is an extremely nice car that will attract attention where ever it goes but by no means is it a 100 pt show car.

Warranty:  The vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty express written or implied.  I encourage you to send anyone to inspect the vehicle prior to purchase you will not be disappointed.

Shipping:  Will be the responsibility of the buyer however, I can help with the shipping as my cousin owns a trucking company and his rates are lower than most carriers out there.  His trucks are fully insured and the drivers are fully insured and bonded.  I have shipped open and enclosed coast to coast without any incident what so ever through his company.

Payment:  A $500 non refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction close.  A final payment for the balance to be wire transferred to my account within 3 days after deposit.  Title of car will not be released until all funds have cleared my bank.  Please if you don't have the funds do not bid on the car.  I have had to re-list before due to non payment.    Good luck bidding!!!

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506

Thu, 02 May 2013

With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.

Meet the mother-daughter team that's worked on almost every Chevy Volt

Sun, May 11 2014

It's Mother's Day, and we're soft enough we love our mothers enough to share a new video from General Motors with you. In it, we meet Monique Watson (left) and Evetta Osbourne, a mother-daughter team that works at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly where GM makes the Chevy Volt (along with all of GM's other plug-in hybrids: the Opel Ampera, Holden Volt and Cadillac ELR). The two work side-by-side and have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on almost all of those vehicles - nearly 80,000 of them - since GM started making the pre-production Volts in 2009. In a prepared statement, Watson said that she likes working next to her mom, day in and day out, and they the two are totally in sync when it comes to putting the 400-pound, 16.5-kWh packs into the vehicle undersides. They two can also share stories throughout the day, and Watson said, "The arrangement has absolutely improved our relationship." Osborne started working at Detroit-Hamtramck in 1999, Watson since 2006. If you're driving a Volt today, you probably have them to thank for doing a bit of the work putting your car together. See a short video of them in action below. It's Always Mother's Day for Detroit-Hamtramck Duo Mother, daughter install lithium-ion battery pack in nearly all GM electric vehicles 2014-05-08 DETROIT – For Detroit resident Evetta Osborne, every day is Mother's Day. That's because she literally works side by side with her daughter, Monique Watson, at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant. They have installed the lithium-ion battery pack on nearly every Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera, Holden Volt, and Cadillac ELR since production began. In fact, apart from vacation days and an occasional sick day, the mother-daughter duo has installed almost every battery pack since the Volt was in pre-production in 2009. The ELR launched earlier this year. All told – including Ampera – that's more than 80,000 electric vehicles. "We're a good team and our relationship is secondary when it comes to performing our jobs – but it's great to work alongside my daughter, said Osborne, a mother of five. Because the battery packs weigh more than 400 pounds each, automatic guided vehicles – robotic carts that use sensors to follow a path through the plant – deliver them just as the vehicle body structures glide into position overhead. The carts then lift the T-shaped packs, and Osborne and Watson guide them into the chassis and secure each one with 24 fasteners.

Chevy Trax engineer says GMC version possible

Mon, Dec 8 2014

The Buick Encore is doing so well and its platform-mate the Chevrolet Trax has such good reviewer vibes going for it already, that a GMC version hasn't been ruled out. During the recent press launch, Automotive News asked lead engineer Al Manzor if the Trax could wear a GMC-branded suit, to which Manzor replied, "I think that is certainly possible." That's a long way from telling us anything about the probability of a GMC version of the Trax, and a legion of questions would need to be answered before it could happen. How would a GMC version be priced to leave room for the $26,465 GMC Terrain but not eat into sales of the $20,995 Trax or the $24,035 Encore? Or would that matter? Could it primarily be considered to encourage a new faction of The Yukon Set at the compact end, GMC buyers being famously committed to the marque? And of course, would there be a Denali version? It'll probably be a long while before we have any kind of answers, but if you want to see it happen, the door to your campaign of persuasion is at least ajar.
