1972 Chevelle convertible
The car is a real true survivor with 41,081 actual miles as recorded on Florida title. The car has it's original numbers matching 307V8, turbo350 trans and 10 bolt rear. It comes with the original build sheet, owners manuals, protecto plate and warranty card. The car was bought new in 1972 at Earl Evens Chevrolet in Pineville Ohio. The car was repainted the original Forest Greet about 18 years ago. The body still looks good but is do for another restoration for show or you can just drive and enjoy it as it is. The trunk is very clean and still has it's original spatter paint. The floors are solid but do have some repairs from the top side and one floor brace is rusted and should be replaced at some point. The car has power steering, power top, tilt steering column and manual drum brakes. The exhaust system is new with flowmaster duel mufflers 2-1/2" pipes with correct tips. Included with the sale is a new convertible white top with glass rear window. I also have used disc brakes that are also included with the sale. The original hub caps are in the trunk with jack and spare tire. The car runs and drives like it has 40K miles it's very tight and fun to drive. Most everything is working but the E brake is broken and needs a new cable. The heater still works the radio is aftermarket and comes on but I can't get any sound out of it. The car is not perfect but is a fun convertible with very low miles that can be enjoyed as it is and restored later.
The car is sold AS-IS with NO WARRANTY. Buyer pays shipping but I can help arrange here in Florida. The car is sold with clean Florida title in the last owners name with actual miles on title. I traded a restored 71 Big block Chevelle for this car and just need to sell for money to put into my other projects. If you have any question please feel free to call me between 9am to 9pm EST. 813-478-3449.

Hot air balloons caught in high winds drag fullsize SUV
Mon, Jul 20 2015A sudden storm front whipped up enough wind to send some hot air balloons flying into the air in Wisconsin over the weekend. One ballon proved so energetic that it was able to drag a fullsize SUV across a field and into a stand of tents. The freak accident occurred at Balloonfest in Waterford, Wisconsin. Spectators were horrified as balloons dragged handlers to the ground and launched with terrified pilots clinging to their baskets. Organizers had started packing up the colorful balloons due to ominous storm clouds when the wind kicked up. "Happened just like that; it was crazy," Nathan Fricke, crew member, told Fox 6. Winds were clocked at 40 to 50 miles per hour. A balloon caught in the wind dragged a large SUV (we think a Suburban or Yukon XL) hundreds of feet and into a cluster of tents on the edge of the staging area where balloons were on display for festival goers. Considering that the SUV surely weighs well over 5,000 pounds, it's lucky that no one was injured in the incident. News Source: Fox6Now Weird Car News Chevrolet GM GMC SUV
Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes
Tue, 28 Aug 2012
Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
U.S. new-vehicle sales in 2018 rise slightly to 17.27 million [UPDATE]
Thu, Jan 3 2019DETROIT — Sales of new vehicles in the U.S. rose slightly in 2018, defying predictions and highlighting a strong economy. Automakers reported an increase of 0.3 percent over a year ago to 17.27 million vehicles. The increase came despite rising interest rates, a volatile stock market, and rising car and truck prices that pushed some buyers out of the new-vehicle market. Industry analysts and automakers said strong economic fundamentals pushed up sales and should keep them near historic highs in 2019. "Economic conditions in the U.S. are favorable and should continue to be supportive of vehicle sales at or around their current run rate," Ford Chief Economist Emily Kolinski Morris said after the company and other automakers announced their sales numbers Thursday. That auto sales remain near the 2016 record of 17.55 million is a testimonial to the strength of the economy, said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics. The job market, he said, has created new employment, and wage growth has accelerated. "That's fundamental to selling anything," he said. "If there are lots of jobs and people are getting bigger paychecks, they will buy more." The unemployment rate is 3.7 percent, a 49-year low. The economy is thought to have grown close to 3 percent last year, its best performance in more than a decade. Consumers, the main driver of the economy, are spending freely. The Federal Reserve raised its key interest rate four times in 2018 but is only expected to raise it twice this year. Auto sales also were helped by low gasoline prices and rising home values, Zandi said. It all means that people are likely to keep buying new vehicles this year even as they grow more expensive. The Edmunds.com auto-pricing site estimates that the average new vehicle price hit a record $35,957 in December, about 2 percent higher than the previous year. It will be harder for automakers to keep the sales pace above 17 million because they have been enticing buyers for several years now with low-interest financing and other incentives, Zandi said. He predicts more deals in the coming year as job growth slows and credit tightens for higher-risk buyers. Edmunds, which provides content, including automotive tips and reviews, for distribution by The Associated Press, predicts that sales will drop this year to 16.9 million.
