1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Big Block 454 Ss Tribute on 2040-cars
Milmay, New Jersey, United States
I'm selling a beautiful 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Big Block Tribute. Finished in gorgeous Cranberry Red paint
with painted black Rally Stripes, it draws attention where ever it goes. This beast got a freshly built 454 engine
with a mild cam that starts right up, idles great and has less then 1000 miles since rebuild. The engine has bunch
of goodies like after market intake, 4 barrel Holley carb, headers, dual exhaust, etc... Backed by an automatic
Th400 overdrive transmission that shifts effortlessly and lays the power down to the rear wheels. Its got a 12 bolt
posi rear to make sure you have enough traction if you ever put the pedal to the metal. It features power steering,
power brakes, disc brakes up front, A/C (currently not working), new springs in the front, and a lot of other
updates through. I recently had the interior professionally replaced starting with a brand new carpet kit, new
front buckets seats, new rear seat, headliner, sail panels, new front and back door panels, all new weather
stripping through the car, new vinyl top (with factory style grain) and the list goes on. Also recently replaced
all the marker lights front and back, front turn signal housings and lenses, rear tail light housings and lenses,
headlights and the chrome bezels around them, new hood pins, new chrome around the front and rear windows, all new
"SS" & "454" emblems and a ton of other parts around the car. All lights, turn signals, windshield wipers work as
they should. The Chevelle had both quarters replaced, new trunk lid installed, new cowl induction hood with flapper
installed, both front inner fender put on, and full trunk pan replaced. The floors and the frame are nice and
solid. The paint is in near mint condition, no scratches, no blisters/bubbles, or any other imperfections. The
interior is near mint condition too, as you can tell by the pics. This is an original AC car, I bought all new
rubber lines but never got around to testing and charging the system. Everything is there to make it work again if
you choose to. This is a well taken care of and pampered 70 Chevelle that will keep the next owner happy for
another 50 years to come. She runs great, drives great and sounds like a true muscle car should.

2015 Chevy Spark will have lighter, smaller battery
Thu, May 15 2014As General Motors gets ready to release the 2015 Chevy Spark EV, it is retooling the Brownstown Battery Assembly to build a new battery system for the chirpy little electric car. The new Spark will lose a few pounds and kWh from its lithium-ion pack, but it will keep all of it's performance specs. The current Spark EV uses a 21-kWh lithium-ion battery pack with bits made by A123 Systems (known as B456 Systems during bankruptcy). For the 2015 model, GM is going to build a 19-kWh battery system in-house that will use 192 LG Chem cells. Losing a bit of energy capacity means that the battery system for the 2015 Spark EV will be 86 pounds lighter but it will keep the EPA-rated 82-mile range and 119 MPGe. The 2015 Spark EV also keeps its $26,685 (plus destination) starting price from the 2014 model. The car will once again qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500. LG Chem also supplies the cells for GM's other plug-in vehicles from its facility in Western Michigan. The Brownstown production line currently builds the battery packs for the Chevy Volt, the Opel Ampera and the Cadillac ELR. You can read our first drive of the 2014 Chevy Spark here. Brownstown Battery Assembly Expands Capabilities Will build battery system for 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV 2014-05-14 DETROIT – General Motors will bring all its electric vehicle battery building capabilities in-house with production of battery systems for the 2015 Chevrolet Spark EV at its battery assembly plant in Brownstown, Mich. "Using our in-house engineering and manufacturing expertise enabled us to deliver a battery system that is more efficient and lighter than the 2014 Spark EV without sacrificing range," said Larry Nitz, executive director of GM global transmission and electrification engineering. "Our successful working relationship with LG Chem has allowed us to deliver a new battery system for the Spark EV that helps us to better leverage our economies of scale." A newly designed battery system features an overall storage capacity of 19 kWh and uses 192 lithium ion cells. The cells are produced at LG Chem's plant in Holland, Mich. The battery system weight of 474 lbs. is 86 pounds lighter than the system in the 2014 Spark EV. The Spark EV battery is built on a dedicated production line at Brownstown, which also manufactures complete battery packs for the Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera and Cadillac ELR.

GM, Pilot will build EVgo fast chargers at 500 truck stops across U.S.
Thu, Jul 14 2022All of our maps showing electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. are going to need an update. Today, General Motors, Pilot and EVgo announced plans to work together on a nationwide DC fast charging network. The plan calls for 2,000 charging stalls that can deliver up to 350 kW to be installed at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers in the U.S. The goal is to have DC fast chargers available in 50-mile intervals across the country. The new charging stations will feature GM's "Ultium Charge 360" branding and "Pilot Flying J" logos but will not be limited to drivers of GM EVs. The plugs will use CCS connectors and be available to anyone. GM EV owners can take advantage of benefits, including the ability to make exclusive reservations, get discounts on charging costs and streamline the charging process with Plug and Charge and in-vehicle apps that can provide real-time charger availability. The first installation phase will take place in 2023, and "the bulk of the installations" should be completed by 2025, EVgo CEO Kathy Zoi said during a conference call with reporters announcing the plan. "We're gonna get going immediately and commence all of that engineering and planning stuff," she said. "We've got a pretty orderly plan." Pilot CEO Shameek Konar said the company expects the new EV charging stations to coexist with the current fuel infrastructure. "An average Pilot Flying J location is about 10 acres," Konar said. "This will be in addition to all of our gas pumps. The way I think about it is, this is a new source of energy that is going to coexist with gas for quite some time. We can debate how long, but we need to serve both groups of customers." Installing DC fast chargers at hundreds of Pilot's travel centers — aka truck stops — means there should be food, drinks, restrooms, WiFi and even showers available while you wait for an EV to charge. Pilot recently announced its “New Horizons” plan that will invest $1 billion in upgrading Pilot travel centers with more premium amenities, including expanded seating and lounge areas. While the exact amount of time it will take to charge an EV using these new stations will vary on the EV and its current state of charge, most EVs can refill from a low state of charge to around 80 percent in 20-30 minutes on a fast charger. The new stations are future-proofed to deliver up to 350 kW, a charge rate that few EVs today can handle.
