1970 Chevelle  Started life as a Malibu Deluxe V8 Car with PS, PDB,  I bought the car for a pro touring SS build but have to sell it to finance a real estate opportunity.  Sits low and looks Mean!. Nothing but compliments and thumbs up the few times I've driven it.  Lowering springs front and rear.   Rebuilt small block 350 from a 1972 corvette. Runs strong. Has mild cam, aluminum intake, new edelbrock carb, and headers. Dual electric fan setup. Turbo 350 transmission with shift kit. 3'' Flowmaster exhaust.  Has all New Metal: (Cowl Hood, fenders, inner fenders, doors, quarters, trunk)  New bumpers front and rear,  Car is Very Straight.  I tried to take side profile pics to show this.  Car is currently finished in a satin black primer. (most people think its a base coat satin clear finished paint job).  Just needs some final blocking, final hood and trunk fitting and paint color of your choice. All the hard work is done.  Has brand new Weld wheels and brand new tires.  I believe the sizes are 9'' front and 11'' rear.  tires are 235-60-15 and 295-50-15 rear.  I believe this is as wide as you can go in the back without tubbing out.  Car looks tubbed!  Almost the entire interior is new.  New carpet, door panels, headliner, rear panels, kick panels with new speakers, back seat, seatbelts, sunvisers, door and window handles, steering wheel, and weatherstripping.  Has bucket seats that will need to be recovered.  I also have a tilt column out of a console car that is included. Not all of the interior parts are installed, but its all there.   Rear end is a 10 bolt.  I dont know much more than that.  Not sure gear ratio or if its a posi.  The underside of the car looks very good.  It does not appear to have ever been hit.  This could be a great opportunity to buy a very solid car and finish it the way you want it.  My loss your gain.  I have described the car the best I can but please feel free to call me if you have any questions or to talk more about it. Also I have some pictures documenting the build.  Thanks for looking.  Ryan 239-218-9114

Motor Trend puts Chevy Camaro Z28 and Porsche 911 GT3 Head 2 Head

Mon, Dec 29 2014

Motor Trend admits, "This is an unfair comparison." But that doesn't make it any less fun to watch when they pit a Camaro Z/28 against the Porsche 911 GT3. The former has a 7.0-liter V8 with 505 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque shifted through a six-speed manual. The latter has a 3.8-liter flat-six with 475 hp and 324 lb-ft shifted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Yet those are only the little disparities – the big disparities are mass and money: the Camaro weighs 3,882 pounds and costs $76,150 as-tested, the Porsche weighs 3,267 pounds and costs $145,785. But they're both about hardcore performance, so MT takes them out on the street, to the drag strip, to the parking lot for figure eights and a skidpad test, and finally to Big Willow for Randy Pobst to give his professional assessment. Remember when a lotta people spent a lotta time debating Pirates vs. Ninjas? This is like that, only it's the "haul-ass good-time car" vs. the "track surgeon." Enjoy the debate in the video.

Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step

Thu, Feb 2 2017

General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet. Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
