Rutledge, Georgia, United States
This is a no expense spared, total frame-off rotisserie restoration which took 5 years and over 2,000 man hours to perform. In total, everything has been replaced or rebuilt by only professional mechanics. The paint and body work were done to extremely high standards. There was no rust found when the body was blasted. The car only lived in Texas and Arizona its whole life. The only chrome under the hood are the hood hinges, hood striker and hood release lever, everything else is powdercoated including the inner fenderwells. The entire undercarriage and suspension systems and all hardware. Period correct 396cid motor was completely rebuilt with high end performance parts and machine work. It also has a Holley Projection programmable Fuel Injection system. The TH400 was built at a performance transmission center. The 12-bolt rear end has a new Eaton posi-traction with a Richmond 3.42 gear set. The complete exhaust system is ceramic coated headers to tailpipes with stainless clamps and tips. The paint work on this car is Black Cherry factory color with silver SS stripes. With the color scheme of the interior and the powdercoating throughout the car. The interior was done in a gray tweed with black inserts. The headliner matches the tweed. It has a Dakota Digital dash installed in a new SS dash and pad. All new carpet, door panels, center console with horseshoe shifter and hidden Sony Explode stereo with a 600-watt amp and 4 3-way speakers which power up when you turn on the factory AM radio mounted in the dash. The exterior has all new markers, lights, chrome trim and moldings, emblems, bumpers and SS bumper pad. To sum up, this car is a show car with some very special features which make it very fun to drive. All statements made have supporting paperwork that goes with car. 2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year entries announced
Wed, Jul 6 2016Over 40 vehicles will compete for the 2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year awards. If that name looks a little strange, it's because the competition added a third category. In years past, pickup trucks, crossovers, SUVs, commercial vans, and minivans competed for the same award. That's why there were occasionally weird comparisons, like last year's competition between the Volvo XC90 and Nissan Titan XD. The new format separates pickups and commercial vans into the truck contest and CUVs, SUVs, and minivans into the utility competition. A complete list of eligible vehicles is below, but here are a few highlights. For one, the entire list of entries has a luxurious lean. Of the 43 vehicles, nearly half of them are from premium brands. There are two eligible Bentleys – the Bentayga and Mulsanne – the Rolls-Royce Dawn, Jaguar F-Pace, Audi Q7, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-, E-, and S-Class Maybach. The performance ranks are lofty, too, with the Audi R8, Acura NSX, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Mercedes SL- and SLC-Class, Porsche 718, and F-150 Raptor. The mainstream entries are just as comprehensive. From the Chrysler Pacifica to the Chevrolet Cruze to the Fiat 124 Spider to the Mitsubishi Mirage, NACTOY has covered an enormous price range with this year's contestants. Of course, these are only the eligible vehicles. They'll need to run through three rounds of judging, starting in September at NACTOY's traditional Hell, MI, test drive. The Canadian and American journalists involved in the judging will announce this year's nine finalists – three in each category – on December 6. Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
