1969 Chevrolet Chevelle L78 Coupe on 2040-cars
Reading, Pennsylvania, United States
Just email me at: anthony_frazzano@zoho.com .
For Sale today is my 69 Chevelle SS396 Factory L78 car with 21,820 original miles, equipped with factory M22 H/D 4
speed transmission, and Factory KK coded 4:10 rear. This car was ordered for one reason in 1969, to beat the snot
out of anything that dared pull up next to it. It is low on options and doesn't even have power steering. What it
does have is tons of horsepower and Tourqe. The factory rating of 375HP is a joke by the people at GM in order to
keep insurance prices low so we can all buy these special cars in our day. The real HP is around 430. This car is a
real deal Daytona Yellow L78 , M22, 4:10 car. I added L89 aluminum head option because of weight saving. I have
owner history and window sticker. I have spoken to both previous owners and they say the car is what it is. I
bought the car a few years back and it needed a full restoration. I did a frame off on the car and put a full one
piece trunk floor in and drivers side quarter along with a full speaker shelf and floor section under the butt of
back seat. All parts welded in as should be. The motor is a numbers matching 4 bolt block with suffix number
T0312JAD. Car is a 03C built car as seen in pics. Motor still retains its original Forged crankshaft and 7/16
dimple rods. New forged pistons were added to the .030 bored block with a new Holley 4456 carb straight from Holley
and GM aluminum intake. To make a long story short everything is either new or rebuilt, the M22 is all new gears,
sliders, syncros, etc. its all new. The rear has new gears and posi unit and all bearings , races seals, etc. are
new. This car doesn't leak one drop of fluid ever it is so tight. The side and rear glass is OEM to the car ,
windshield is new w/antenna in it. The complete interior was done by J and J auto in Phila. and looks spectacular.
Car has Radials all around on stock SS wheels with new trim rings. I do have the original SS wheels on another car
though with OEM tires, Polyglas I believe. This is without a doubt the fastest car I ever built and I built a bunch
over the years. I could go on but there is really to much to list. Like I said everything is new or rebuilt. I am
selling because a very special corvette came up for sale and I would like to grab it. See Pics.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.
The Opel GT is the concept General Motors should build for the US
Sat, Feb 27 2016Now is the time. General Motors should double-down on performance cars and build the Opel GT concept that's set to debut next week at the Geneva Motor Show. Better yet, sell it in the United States as the Chevy GT. Consumers are showing a thirst for performance cars not seen in decades. Ford has them coming in waves, with everything from the F-150 Raptor to a hotted-up Fusion. FCA US is unrepentantly building loads of Hellcats. GM should respond. The General's cupboard is hardly bare. With the Corvette, Camaro, and Cadillac's V-Series, GM has more than enough to compete with its crosstown rivals and anything Europe or Japan can throw at it. But there's also an opportunity. There's not many front-mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-seat sports cars out there like the Opel GT concept. A Chevy GT that used that layout and captured some of the concept car's proportions and curves would ignite a different kind of passion in enthusiasts. It would be Miata-like. With Chevy branding, this sports car would be the everyday exotic. The concept has a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine, which makes about 143 horsepower to motivate a structure that weighs less than 2,200 pounds. It can hit 60 miles per hour in less than eight seconds. All of those numbers are within the front-engined Miata's territory. This new Opel is inspired by two great mid-1960s concepts that helped put its design studio, and that of its sister brand, the British Vauxhall, on the map. (The GT concept is also technically a Vauxhall, as the brands are linked in GM's European strategy.) One of them, the '66 Vauxhall XVR remained a concept. The '65 Opel Experimental GT was on the road by 1968. That shows this is doable. There's precedent. The Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice shared a chassis with a modern GT during that trio's brief run. If GM ever makes this concept, Opel and Vauxhall should get their versions. But Chevy is the one that could make this car a global icon. Chevrolet GT. Make it happen. News & Analysis News: The potential return of the Ford Bronco is generating a ton of attention. Analysis: That's not news, per se. But when the Bronco6G.com fan site did a rendering of a next-generation Bronco, it almost broke the Internet. Everyone from Automotive News to Jalopnik picked up the illustrations. Our own post has drawn a lot of traffic and passionate responses. People are clamoring for the Bronco's return.
