VIN: 136379A315338 MILEAGE: 14,727 reading and who really knows. UP FRONT discloser and time saver!!!!!!!!!! This is a good looking car, it is solid, it drives and stops good, it has clear glass and decent chrome, the engine runs good and the transmission shifts good. Its just a super nice drive and enjoy quality car. The car is the beautiful azure turquoise color, the door jambs and underside of trunk and lips painted slick. The wheels and tires are high dollar, the after market gauges are high dollar by Auto Meter. The AM 8 track radio is not working, it is missing a dome light lense that I have ordered. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of WILL I SELL THE CAR OFF EBAY MOTORS? Yes, I'm not crazy, I know the most of you are not registered on ebay and use it as a research tool. MY REAL PRICE IS $18,750!!!! That's what it take to buy the car on or off ebay motors, you dealers wanting to resell have to pay the same. I have been doing this for a long time and I know the game, I don't play it the same as most and I sell every car I put for sell. PLEASE NO TRADES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, but I will not trade, why should I trade when I have a hot selling car, I don't need motor cycles, boats, jewelry or your used false teeth. I DO NOT SHOW CARS ON SUNDAY!!!!! I worship on sunday, I spend time with my family and I rest. I'm doing this because I love it, "I need a day off". I will be happy to show you cars 6 days a week, call in advance to set up a time, "I'm 66 years old and life is more than just cars". Sorry, but I do not do videos. I'm old and don't want to learn and mess with them, I sell my cars anyway. TITLE: The title matches the VIN on the car, I have the clear title in hand. We are just a father/son operation working out our garage, but I have dealers license to keep things legal. History: I can't tell you much, the title is from Cincinnati, Ohio and it states previous state Kentucky. I was told that the car was restored in Kentucky and the title backs that up. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? This is no rust bucket, the underside looks good, but not sanded smooth and detailed for show. No rusted holes or rust bubbles in the paint. It is no rust bucket in my option. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find and the title states none. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a retired mechanic/auto-mechanic instructor/was a Army helicopter mechanic and instructor. When I find a truck or car I like for a good price I buy it fix things and resell for a fair profit. I did not restore this car, I just fixed a few things. IS THIS A MATCHING NUMBERS CAR? Probably not, but it might be, no build sheet! IS THIS A REAL SUPER SPORT? It looks like one now, but it was not born one. PAINT: The azure turquoise paint would be considered very good, the car is straight when you look down the sides, it has no rust bubbles, no dents or car door dings. You have to look with a couple of touched up chips down low. CHROME: I consider the chrome and stainless real nice, the bumpers good with no dulling or peeling, no pits and they shine good. The emblems are good, the grill good the only thing that I see is some pits on the short narrow pieces the go on front of the back windows. INTERIOR: No smoke smell, the seat covers are good, the carpet good, the door panels good, the headliner and dash pad good. The interior light is missing the cover that I have ordered. RADIO: AM 8 track that is not working. UNSERSIDE: Solid, but not painted shinny to put mirrors under at the car show. Its not a rust bucket, the frame extensions and supports look good as wheel as the body mounts. GLASS: The glass is fine, the door glasses roll up and down good and the windshield looks new. ENGINE: Engine runs very good, its a 350 cubic inch that has been rebuilt when the car was restored. It has a 4 barrel carburetor and the hoses and belts good. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Dual exhaust with Flow Master mufflers, they have the deep muscle car sound, the headers are chrome and very blued from heat, the exhaust tips are stainless steel and look good. TRANSMISSION: Its a Turbo 350 that shifts good, no dust cover. REAR-END: It has no bearing noises, no growls, its a 12 bolt, I have not checked the gearing, but its just right, you can drive it on the road, it no crazy low ratio. BRAKES: Good, they are drums all around and power assisted. STEERING: The cars drives very good, it is power steering. WHEELS AND TIRES: The wheels are nice 16 inch American Racing Hopsters, the tires look like new and are Goodyear Eagles 225/60R/16. LIGHTS: They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work, dome light not working 9I will check it, but no guarantee. GUAGES: Very nice gauges by Auto Meter, the pictures make them look pitted "they are not", they look good, the speedometer works, the tachometer works as well as the other gauges. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE and panel fit? I think the doors fit and open very good, the hood and trunk fit good, the trunk does not have good gaps, I'll try to adjust it, but no guarantees. WOULD I DRIVE THE CAR HOME ON A LONG TRIP: I never recommend driving a old car home, I just test drive them and drive them some around town, but I do think this car would drive anywhere. DID I RESTORE THIS CAR? No! I bought it on a 6 car deal. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the car, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! WE DO NOT HAVE A SHOW ROOM WITH OVERHEAD! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the vehicle “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in US OR EXPORT "Nations Auto Transport" is located in the Kansas City area: This is a good company that will handle any type of transport in the Call Jim Page....his work number is 816-295-6887 and his email is jpage@shipnat.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take this by PayPal, but not full payment. Option 1: Pay the old school way with green face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the most checks clear, I have had a fake bank certified check. I will take a bank cashiers check with lots of identification and advance notice so I can check you out. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the transfer. I will not give out my banking information until I get your information. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 66 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but lots of them do not impress me at all, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first, I will not stop the listing and wait for a inspector! TRADES: Please no trades! I do not finance cars! If your going to finance, get pre-approved. BOTTOM LINE: My price is really $18,750 and I am firm. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down, but I don't like that game. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com IS THERE A WARRANTY? No! Junkyard Gem: 1980 Chevrolet LUV Mikado
Sat, Oct 9 2021During the 1970s and into the 1980s, each member of the Detroit Big Three imported Japanese small pickups and sold them with Ford (Mazda Proceed), Dodge/Plymouth (Mitsubishi Forte), or Chevrolet (Isuzu Faster) badges here. Ford developed the Ranger and killed the Courier for 1983 (though Americans could still buy the Mazda-badged version all the way through 1993), while The General axed the LUV after the S-10 debuted in the 1982 model year. Isuzu sold the same truck as the P'up through 1987, though, and we might as well follow up our recent P'up Junkyard Gem with its LUV predecessor. LUV stood for Light Utility Vehicle, and I've managed to spot a handful in the boneyards over the years. This one now resides in a yard in northeastern Colorado. The Mikado trim package included striped seat upholstery and a sporty steering wheel, plus these cool dash badges. As far as I can tell, no LUV Mikado advertising featured any Gilbert and Sullivan tunes. This one is fairly rusty for Front Range Colorado, and it has endured a bed swap from some other small truck. The engine is the 75-horse Isuzu 1.8-liter. Members of this engine family went into everything from Chevy Chevettes to Isuzu Troopers in the United States. Very unusually for a small pickup during the Malaise Era, this one has a luxurious automatic transmission. Acceleration must have been a leisurely affair in this truck. Air conditioning? Unheard of! Someone stuck every one of their lunchtime apple stickers on the driver's door. After 41 years of work, this truck is done. Come on strong in a LUV of your own!
800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
