What you are bidding on today is KC of KC's Classic Cars, Bradenton, Florida, own personal ride! It is an UN-RESTORED ORIGINAL 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396, 375 Horsepower L-78, 4 speed, bench seat, 2 door hardtop. She was built for the original owner without any of the creature comforts, no power steering, no A/C, no AM/FM, just an AM radio that still works with a FM converter (remember those) in the glove box and that still works. Just built to go FAST!! The only power that she has is the horsepower and power disc front brakes! I, (KC) have owned her for almost 14 years and am the 3rd owner of the car. The owner that I got her from had her for 18 years and put about 500 miles on her in that period of time. It was a mid-life crisis car for him. He was about to hit seventy and couldn't drive the manual transmission any more. Since I have had the car I have installed:

A) New Centerforce clutch assembly
B) New flywheel
C) New exhaust system
D) New 15 inch (I hated the way the 14 inch wheels looked) SS wheels and     BFG T/A's ( 235 70R15) all around
E) Removed the engine 5 years ago, took it apart, new bearings and               resealed with new timing chain and oil pump, new water pump, mounts,     hoses, belts, and alternator, etc. Everything inside the engine looked like     new.
F) On the interior I replaced the front bench seat seatcover when I bought       her. There was a small tear where I couldn't get it repaired on the drivers     side. The drivers side door panel was faded so I replaced that also,             although I kept the old one. The drivers side kick panel was also                 replaced with a used one. At the time when I bought her there were no       new replacements. It is the same color, of course. That's it, in the                 interior. Everything else is original and in excellent condition.
G) The paint is Cortex Silver and Chevrolet had a problem with this color         during 1969. When it rained and the sun would come out the rain               droplets would magnify onto the Cortez Silver and dull those areas             causing Chevrolet to have to repaint any affected areas. This was one         such car. You car see (ever so slightly) that part of the car was re-               painted in the same lacquer paint and the same dulling in many areas         do still appear. There is no rust on the Chevelle and there never any rust     on her. I had the bottom black painted, that bottom strip 13 years ago to     make her look better. The black was faded. Check out the photos of the       car. There is one little dent at passenger side rear quarter     that was         there when I bought the car and small dent (smaller that a pencil                 eraser) near the top of the passenger front fender, near the door.
H) When I bought the car there was a Sun Tach with the sending unit that       did not work (still have it) and there was the old chain that was bolted to     the engine and frame (old school). The 3 gauges that were in the car           when I bought her are still there working great!
I) If you have any questions on my Chevelle, please call me at my shop at      941-747-1800 or on my cell at 941-713-2729. If you need any additional      photos of the car, videos, etc, just call, e-mail, and I have many other          photos of the car on KC's Classics Facebook page. There are some on        kcsclassiccars.com web site also.

Most of these 396/375 hp cars did not survive. They were blown up by their previous owners by drag racing. I can see some evidence of drag racing because of the drivers side rear wheel well trim being worn off on the front, probably from cheater slicks at some period if time. If this car could talk!

The one last thing I have to mention is that I took a loan for my shop expansion using my classic cars as collateral a few years ago and that when you purchase the Chevelle, I will just have you make a cashiers check out my lender so they can send you the title. You won't have to go through me.

There is no warranty implied here. Within 48 hours of the auction ending please place $500.00 in my Pay Pal account and I will get you the bank info ASAP.

You can pick up the car locally and I have the Chevelle for sale locally and have the right to end the auction early if necessary. You can have a shipper pick up the Chevelle as I have sold many of my babies over the years and many of the shippers know us very well. Good Luck on your bidding!!

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

GM Recalls 218,000 Chevy Aveo Models Over Fire-Prone Lighting

Wed, May 21 2014

The recall train keeps on rolling for General Motors. Hot on the heels of its recent 2.4 million-vehicle recall of various models, it's now calling in 218,000 Chevrolet Aveo units from the 2004-2008 model years because they could catch fire. The problem concerns the daytime running light module in the instrument panel. It could overheat, melt and cause a fire. According to GM spokesperson Alan Adler, "We are aware of some fires," and the company "is still investigating." Adler wouldn't comment about how many fires were reported or when the automaker was first aware of this issue because of the ongoing analysis. However, he said the issue has not caused any injuries or fatalities. GM also doesn't have a fix for the problem with the DRL module yet. The company says in its recall statement to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the remedy "is still under development." Adler wasn't sure when it would be ready, but he said Aveo owners would receive notification in the mail "relatively soon." They will receive a second letter later to schedule the repair. In a separate letter about the Aveo's problem to NHTSA (viewable here as a PDF), GM said its Executive Field Action Decision Committee decided to conduct the recall on May 16. Scroll down for the recall report. RECALL Subject : Daytime Running Light Module Overheating Report Receipt Date: MAY 19, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V261000 Component(s): Potential Number of Units Affected: 218,000 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 Chevrolet Aveo vehicles equipped with daytime running lights (DRL). In the affected vehicles, there may be heat generated within the DRL module located in the center console in the instrument panel, which could melt the DRL module. CONSEQUENCE: If the DRL module melts due to the heat generation, it could cause a vehicle fire. REMEDY: The remedy for this recall campaign is still under development. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). General Motors recall number for this campaign is 14236. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Michael Jordan's cars showcased in 'The Last Dance' documentary

Sun, May 10 2020

After the masses begged and pleaded for an early release, ESPN finally unlocked the doors to the biggest production in company history last month. Episodes 1 and 2 of The Last Dance, a 10-part documentary special about Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls, and the 1997-1998 season, was released at last on April 19, 2020. Each week since, two new episodes have aired on Sunday nights, and the next two, episodes 7 and 8 are scheduled to drop this weekend on May 10. With unprecedented video access to MJ, who became averse to the media during his playing days, a byproduct from The Last Dance is a look at some of Jordan's cars. The Goat's taste ranges across a number of brands, but they all had one thing in common: performance as a top priority. Below, we have listed the rides that have already appeared in the series, and each week, we will update with new car cameos. Chevrolet Corvette C4 The photo above somewhat epitomizes one of the themes of The Last Dance. Everybody, whether that was men, women, children, franchise owners, reporters, coaches, teammates, or opponents, wanted a piece of Jordan. If that meant stopping in the middle of the road to get an autograph, then so be it. Around town, MJ was fairly easy to spot due to his flashy cars that occasionally wore Bulls red. Jordan has driven numerous Corvettes throughout the years, but the C4 is unique in that it was Chevy's top ride when Jordan signed an endorsement deal with the American company during his rookie year in 1984. Two famous photos, one in front of the Chicago skyline, show him standing next to a C4 with the license plate "Jump 23." This exact car, however, came later, as indicated by the squared-off taillights. He went on to star in a number of Chevrolet commercials with vehicles such as the Blazer and S-10 pickup truck. Chevrolet Corvette C5 The most notable Corvette His Airness ever owned was likely the C4 40th Anniversary ZR-1, but he also drove a C5 coupe at one point. Roughly nine minutes into the first episode, Jordan is seen driving the chrome-wheeled targa top into the parking lot at the Berto Center, the Bulls old practice facility.   Ferrari 550 Maranello Roughly three minutes into episode four, viewers get a glimpse of Jordan's exotic taste in the form of a red Ferrari 550 Maranello.
