Hello,

Thanks for looking at my auction. This is my 68 Pro Street Chevelle that I've owned since 2001 originally built by JEPRORODZ.COM in 2000. Of coarse it didn't look like this but I posted a pic of what it looked like when I got it.The color is Cortez silver and was done here locally in 2009. Still shows great with only a couple of chips (which I have touched up) The interior was done by Seat Cover King in 2008. The motor was built by Shively Speed and Machine in late 2010. The wiring and numerous other items was done at Street and Strip Performance here in Louisville, KY.

This is a ladder bar car with the entire back half supplied by Chassis Engineering, 4 wheel manual disc brakes, rear are Wilwood, front are Jeg's slotted and drilled, Strange master cylinder,12 bolt 488 Posi with C-clip eliminators. Tires are MT Sportsman 33x 21.5 with "Bob Glidden" Pro Star rims. It has a built 3" driveshaft by Republic Diesel.

The car still retains the key start option but it has been upgraded with an ARC switch panel. The tach is a high end  Auto Meter Pro Comp with shift light and dual range. The shifter is a Cheeta with the reverse pattern, Line lock on the console and trans brake button on the handle.

The engine is a BBC 496..Eagle forged rotating assembly, SRP forged pistons (10.25-1 comp.). The cam is a solid roller by Comp Cams 652 lift..262-272 duration @50. Lifters and springs are Lunati..I believe the push rods are from Smith Bros. (had to order a special length because of the heads) Rockers are Crane gold series with stud girdle and poly locks on top. Heads are Pro Topline 320's (now called RHS)...2.25-1.88 Manley Severe Duty valves.  Cloyes double roller chain with torrington bearing and thrust button. Melling oil pump with an 8qrt pan. Hooker 2 1/8 headers with Flow Master Delta 3" mufflers, MSD dist , ignition box and coil.. Nice Chrome CSR electric water pump..Dual Derale fan kit with a high end Griffin radiator(1-55272-x)...This motor runs cool!  Blower is a Weiand 6/71 with Holley 750's jetted at 91 squared. Power valves are blocked off. This motor is set up to run fat and timing is locked and set at a safe 32 degrees with the blower running 12 percent under. Probably makes a safe 800 HP on pump gas but flip the pulleys change to some VP 116, move the timing to 36 degrees and who knows! The engine has approx. 75 miles (maybe) on it since it was installed in the spring of 2011.

The Trans is a built JW with the upgraded clutch discs and Cheeta manual valve body/brake reverse shift pattern and the torque converter is a TCI  10" with a 3600 stall on the brake..4000 on the flash (don't remember the part number...242200?) it's a good one made for this app. The trans also has is own Be Cool fluid cooler with fan.

The head lights, tail lights and turn signals work. Wipers work but I removed the arms..you can have them...I never drive this car in the rain...ever!  Glass is good, door windows roll up. Speedo does not work and it drips oil occasionally (not bad), probably from the excessive crank case pressure under boost. This car was put together with the best of parts..adult driven and proudly maintained. I have been a good stewart to this car but am getting older and don't seem to drive it much anymore. I will entertain partial trades but guys I won't be giving you $20,000 credit for your $10,000 car..I am no dummy! This car has always been a driver for me. It is not a Barrett Jackson car but it is well above average and you would not be embarassed at any rod run. The opening price is the reserve.

Due to the nature of this car it is sold "AS IS" "WHERE IS" ask questions or come and see the car in person, I have no secrets. I will assist in the shipping you arrange.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

Star Wars Car Drives To The Dark Side Of Comic Con

Tue, Jul 22 2014

When it comes to designing coveted collectible toys for sale at Comic-Con, the annual celebration of pop culture lifting off Thursday in San Diego, the sky's the limit for the designers at Mattel. Fittingly, the building where Mattel's dreamers conceive of their limited-edition playthings is just down the street from the Los Angeles International Airport. Inside the colorful design center - a Hot Wheels-themed shuttle bus transports employees from Mattel's parking garage - the designers have spent the past year working on 10 toys created especially for the Comic-Con crowd, including a replica of the Batmobile from the upcoming game "Batman: Arkham Knight" and a 9-inch-tall action figure of Superman killer Doomsday. "We don't have to worry about retail. We don't have to worry about margins," said Doug Wadleigh, Mattel's senior vice president of global brand marketing for boys and entertainment. "We don't have to worry about operational efficiencies. We only have to worry about creating the coolest toys for our fans. Period." It also offers some escape from Mattel's reality these days. Like other toy makers struggling in this digital, video-centric age, the company is trying to remain relevant in the retail world. Core brands like Barbie have seen less of a demand, with a 14 percent drop in sales in the first quarter of this year. Mattel had a net loss for the first three months ending March 31 that totaled $11.2 million. But things will at least seem rosier at Comic-Con, where eager buyers for the toys await (the only other place they will be sold is on the Mattel collector's site). Mattel's exclusives this year run between $20 and $85, but elite toys can fetch much more when they're put up for auction. The crown jewel for Wadleigh and his team this year is a Darth Vader die-cast car, the first official collaboration from Hot Wheels and the "Star Wars" franchise. The car - imagine if a Chevrolet Corvette C5 and the villainous Sith lord's helmet had a baby - comes in a sleek black box and encased in a replica of Vader's lightsaber, complete with a swooshing sound effect. "We've been trying to partner with Lucasfilm and Disney on this property for a long time," said Wadleigh. A full-size working replica of the Vadermobile will be on display at Mattel's booth at the massive San Diego Convention Center.

1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won.
