Up for auction is my 1967 Chevelle. It is not a true SS but it does have all the SS features. Hood, rockers , grill, trunk, fenders, dash and steering wheel. As of last year the previous owner had the car for 26 years. This car has all of its original floor pans and trunk pans and has never been patched.
The engine is a 454ci motor. It is actually a 454 block that has been destroked to a 427ci engine for more torque. This is what the previous owner wanted. He is an engine biulder and nows his stuff. The 454 and the 427 shared the same bore size but the 427 has a shorter stroke. The 427 and the 396 share the same stoke so the crank and heads are from a 396. and the intake. 850 holley double pumper and a holley electric full pump and all new fuel lines. The transmition is a built 400 th with a PCI shiftkit. The shifter is an old school hurst slap shifter. The readend is a 12 bolt posi rearend. Headers and new flowmaster 44 mufflers.
Most of the interior is brand new. New carpet, new upolstery, new dash panels, new rear side panels. It has the original headliner and still looks pretty good other then a 1 inch tear that can be patched. Still has a vintage cassette player and equilizer from the 80s.
The exterior of the car is pretty solid . The paint is fairly new and has a good driver quility to it but it is an amateur job. There are some flaws in the paint and some orange peel in the clearcoat. Has vintage rims on the car, I think it gives it a good look. Tires are decent. Still has alot of the original trim and some of it is worn out and may need replaced, rear and front bumpers are worn out and should be replaced or rechromed, the rear tailight bezels are pitted and a couple of the wheelwell trim pieces have some dings in them. It does have 66 wheelwell trim and 66 SS rear rocker trim.
What the car needs-The car is an AC car but still needs compressor and some misc. stuff. The power steering is not hooked up yet. still need a bracket and pump. Under the hood it looks like the hood got bent a one time and someone tryed to pound it out to straighten it. looks good on the outside but you can still see from the underside. nothing major. If I were going to keep it I would replace the hood.
All around a good solid driving car. Please ask questions during the auction. I do not intend to hide anything from a potential buyer. The car is listed locally and I reserve the right to end auction early is it sells.
I do require a non refundable 500 dollar deposit at auction end thru paypal . Remainder to be payed at pick up.

Next-gen GMC Sierra spied with diesel power
Tue, Sep 5 2017The next generation of GM trucks is arriving soon, and we're expecting a huge leap forward over the current lineup. The Chevy Silverado and the GMC SIerra sell extremely well, but haven't done much to move the segment forward in a long time. The Ford F-150 has an all-aluminum body and turbocharged V6 power. The Ram 1500 gained a diesel and coil spring suspension. These spy shots show that diesel may be in the cards for GM. Some quick shots and copious use of flash show what is most likely a tank for diesel exhaust fluid and a diesel particulate filter, both necessary equipment for any modern diesel. It's unclear what form factor that engine will come in, though GM has a number of engines to choose from, including the 2.8-liter inline four that's found in the Colorado and Canyon, though that may be a little light duty for the Silverado and Sierra. Other rumors surrounding the trucks suggest a move to an aluminum cab while retaining a steel bed. That seems like a reasonable move for GM, even if the company was attempting to shame Ford for its move to aluminum a few years ago. Look for more news as early as the Detroit Auto Show in January. Camaro driver clocked at 171 miles per hour
Wed, Apr 13 2016Chevy's 2016 Camaro SS is a fantastic piece of automotive engineering. It is also, apparently, very, very fast. This latter fact was perfectly illustrated when, on April 8, a Camaro SS driver was nailed in Two Harbors, Minnesota for doing 171 mph. According to WFAA, the unnamed speed demon was flying down Highway 61 near Two Harbors when Hermantown, MN Deputy Police Chief Shawn Padden clocked him at an eye-watering 171 mph. He then recorded the speeder at 168 and 141. At the time, Deputy Chief Padden was working with Minnesota State Patrol on an anti-DWI program called "Toward Zero Deaths". Padden, who was interviewed by the Duluth News Tribune, said he was surprised at the driver's sheer speed. "When he went by me, it was a blur," Padden told the News. "You get used to seeing people going 65 or 70 and what that looks like. But I've never seen anything like this. It's like a rocket on wheels." Fadden chased the Camaro down eventually, but it took some doing. To catch the Camaro, he pushed his Dodge Charger Pursuit to 135 mph just to get into range so the Camaro could see his emergency lights. The speeding driver was ticketed for careless driving, but may lose his license due to a Minnesota law that gives courts the option of revoking licenses for drivers caught doing more than 100 mph. Autoblog In Cuba: 1957 Chevy Bel Air Review
Mon, Oct 5 2015If you've been following the Autoblog In Cuba series, you may remember that my efforts to rent a car in the country were ultimately unsuccessful. Misinformation, bad planning, and a lack of rental car inventory conspired to disrupt my hoped-for driving adventure. I discovered in my week of exploration, however, that the terrific thing about Havana is that there's always another adventure to be found – if you're willing to look. A car I could drive myself might have been impossible to come by, but a ride to remember was not. After all, even when reviewing a new car, I've found that impressions about the car and the route can be credibly formed from the right seat. Starting from the parking lot of the grand Hotel Nacional, finding an interesting car for hire is as simple as walking up and down the block. Scads of classic American iron wait just outside the hotel gates, in a riot of colors and conditions befitting the tropical climate. Fords from the 1940s are plentiful – more sedans than coupes – and the glory days of General Motors are represented by enough Pontiacs and Cadillacs to fill a Bruce Springsteen B-sides album. But the Chevy Bel Air is the king of the road here, by some margin. View 30 Photos I settled on a burnt orange 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, in tourist-appropriate condition. I was looking for a hardtop at the request of my crew's audio/video needs, but settled on a burnt orange 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible, in tourist-appropriate condition. This car might look good as a prop in the background on your vacation photos – hair blowing in the breeze with the ocean at your back, parked in front of Che's face in Revolution Square, etc. – but was far from pristine on a closer inspection. A perfect representative of the Cuban average. At least the price was right: $50 for two hours to make it 12 miles to Hemingway's house, and back. My driver was a kid named Daniel who looked to be about 20 years old. The Chevy doesn't belong to him, he co-drives it with the owner, but he was able to give me the basic mechanical rundown. The eight- or six-cylinder engine that Chevy shipped this convertible with was long gone. No surprise there, as nearly every American-made car I'd ridden in so far was powered by some belching Mercedes diesel. Despite it's clattering note, Daniel said the lump under the hood of the '57 drinks gas: a four-cylinder of Russian origins, pulled out of a GAZ Volga as best I can understand.
