Up for sale is a beautiful, all original, un-restored, complete number matching Chevelle SS 396. This car spent 27 years in storage in California, and the odometer shows approximately 28,000 miles. It's believed that this is original mileage based on the condition and presence of original parts, but there is no documentation to prove the mileage is correct.

Numbers matching info is as follows:

VIN: 138177Z131299
Cowl Tag Info
Date built: 02D -- Fourth week in February 1967
Year/Model/Body Style: 67-13817 -- 1967, Chevrolet SS 396, 2 door sport coupe
Manufacturing Plant: BF -- Fremont, California
Factory Unit Number: 04115
Interior Trim: 763 -- Black Vinyl Bucket Seats
Body Color: Y2 -- Butternut Yellow
Option Code: C08 -- Vinyl Roof
Engine Casting: 3902406
Engine Code: T0131EV7Z131299 -- built on 01/31/1967 325hp 396

Car has never been restored and is in original condition with the exception of a recent exterior repaint to the original butternut yellow color, a new black vinyl top, engine bay dress-up, an aftermarket 2-post radio (dash was not modified to install), and aftermarket Weld Racing rims.

It's a very straight rock solid car with no rust in the body or frame. It retains all original factory body parts and has never had any body work.

The car has all original interior that is in very good shape with the exception of a 5" crack in the rear seat.

Car currently leaks oil, transmission fluid, and antifreeze from sitting most of its life. The factory exhaust has a small hole.

Please ask if you would like any additional information.

I'm selling because I do not drive the car and have lost in test in it.

2016 Lamborghini Huracan at the Horse Thief Mile | AutoblogVR

Tue, Sep 13 2016

AutoblogVR returns to the Horse Thief Mile in the Mojave Desert to put the Lamborghini Huracan to the test. It's everything we want a modern supercar to be: Powerful, striking in appearance, and a riot to drive. But does it live up to Lamborghini's unique performance heritage? Senior Editor Greg Migliore reviews the Huracan on Horse Thief's unyielding curves and elevation changes to find out. Meanwhile, Autoblog Editor-in-Chief Mike Austin reviews a different kind of performance car – the Chevy SS at the IndyCar circuit on Detroit's Belle Isle. He's ably assisted by ace driver Simon Pagenaud. You must watch his hot lap! The SS is old-school V8 American muscle wrapped in Australian design and engineering. This AutoblogVR segment also launches on the app Sept. 13, and the teaser follows the Huracan preview above. Each week, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll preview them here on Autoblog, but for the full immersive experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too!

Chevy Corvette gets Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder [w/video]

Mon, 18 Aug 2014

For the 2015-model-year, Chevrolet introduces Valet Mode for the Corvette, an enhancement to the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) already available and to your peace of mind. The PDR already captures 720p HD video with a windshield-mounted camera, records interior audio with a cabin microphone and gathers telemetry data using GPS, saving the data to an SD card in the glovebox. You can then watch your track-day antics with various information overlays on the center console screen.
Valet Mode will let you hit 'Replay' when your car gets pulled up front smelling vaguely of fricasseed clutch. Turned on by entering a four-digit code, it also locks the interior storage spaces and turns off the infotainment system. It can't be turned off until the code is re-entered. There's a press release below with more information as well as a video that explains how it works, with the obligatory dig at the 'Vette's biggest foe.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
