1967 Post Model Chevelle. Car has been going through extensive renovations for last 2 years. Car is considered a small project and is about 85% complete.

The Good:     Extensive sheet metal work performed. All floors , lower panels and trunk have been replaced. Sheet metal work alone was almost $7 K. Painted about 1 year ago. Attention to detail in paint job. Door jambs, under hood, under trunk lid as well as engine compartment all painted to detail. Can use some more buffing in certain areas for a higher shine. There is NO rust or rot whatsoever anywhere in car to be found. Paint was almost around $4 K. Interiors almost complete. Door panels replaced as well as front and rear seats upholstered. Engine is a rebuilt small block 350 dropped in about 6 months ago . Everything rebuilt down to new motor mounts under hood. Rebuilt tranny installed as well as B and M shifter. Weld Built rims on car along with extra set of wheels and rims. 10 bolt rear.

What the car needs:  As mentioned car is 85% complete.Lets start with exterior work. Car is in need of moldings. All old moldings were removed for paint job and most are old and faded. There is new molding around front windshield but missing around rear. All badges need to be installed. Bumpers are in decent shape but there are a few signs of fading in certain areas. Paint job is in excellent condition although as mentioned before there are a few areas that can be buffed out for a higher shine. Inside the vehicle there is NO headliner. All the bars are there so it just needs new fabric installed.Engine is rebuilt and needs to be wired . There is NO power stearing but plenty of room to install pump. Biggest issue in engine compartment is Carburetor. It is an old Edelbrock that needs to be totally rebuilt or replaced. The heater core was removed as this was a Georgia car. I have the heater core in the trunk and just needs to be reinstalled. The B and M shifter has a cracked release lever (got the car in this condition).

This vehicle was taken in by me as partial payment on another muscle car I sold. Although I have performed some of the renovations I am auctioning the car in as is condition due to lack of time to complete as I am currently working on other projects. Winning bidder responsible for an immediate $500 deposit at auction end and full payment must be received no later than 72 hours of such. If making full payment via paypal winning bidder to pay all fees related to cover transaction. Winning bidder responsible for any and all shipping costs or local pick up. Although I will be more than happy to work with your carrier to arrange times for pick up you will be responsible for all costs. Bid with confidence. This is a great classic muscle car that is 85% complete and with a little work can be a nice car. I will be happy to answer any and all questions via email. Car has a low reserve for its value and can be a steal for the right enthusiast or collector. Good lucking in your bidding!

What we know, and think we know, about the 2016 Chevy Volt

Wed, Aug 13 2014

With the next-gen Chevy Volt due to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show early next year, bits and pieces about the new car are making their way into the press. Perhaps most importantly, the new Volt is going to have better "fuel economy and efficiency," according to GM executive vice president Mark Reuss. The current Volt gets 98 MPGe and 37 miles per gallon on premium fuel. It also has a 38-mile electric-only range. We don't know how GM will improve the efficiency or to what degree, but the logical options include making the car lighter, giving it better aerodynamics and/or improving the powertrain. To that end, one of the big things we don't know for sure includes information on the new gas-powered engine. Forbes says it will be a downsized 1.0-liter, three-cylinder mill instead of the 1.4-liter, four-cylinder used in the current model, which could certainly help the car be more efficient. The new Volt is also going to have more technology, which shouldn't surprise anyone. GM is now openly talking about how it will change the way it markets the Volt, shifting away from the mass-market mentality to focus on the regions where the car is already popular. "There's a Northeast and West Coast market for Volt, and there's nothing wrong with that," Chevy chief marketing officer Tim Mahoney told Forbes. There are rumors that the new Volt will have seating for five by adding a seat in the back. This is something a lot of current Volt owners would love, but we've heard nothing official hinting that this would be the case. We expect the battery to be the new 17.1-kWh version, or maybe even have a capacity increase, so GM would have to seriously repackage the pack to eliminate the ridge that runs from between the front seats and then back to the rear two seats. If you've heard anything official, do let us know.

2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. To see the full order guide, head on over to CorvetteBlogger. From what we can gather, it sounds like more information will be revealed on April 25 during a party at the Corvette Museum, and for those sun worshipers patiently waiting for a convertible, it would appear you've got another model year to wait through.

What car should James Robertson buy to drive his famous 21-mile commute?

Thu, Feb 5 2015

The Internet has been abuzz this week with the story of Detroit resident James Robertson, the 56-year-old factory worker who has walked some 21 miles to work for the last 10 years. The Detroit Free Press brought Robertson's story to the fore, helping an online fundraising campaign to generate more than $275,000 (as of this writing). The original goal was just $5,000, or about enough to replace the used Honda that died on Robertson back in 2005, and left him walking. So, newly flush with funds, what's the perfect car for Robertson to buy? Let's look at the specifics of his situation, and try to pick out the best options. Here's what we know: Robertson's commute is (famously) 21 miles; he lives in downtown Detroit (for now) and seems pretty humble, so something very flashy is probably out; former Honda aside, his ties to the city (and statements about being a Ford fan) seem to indicate a Detroit Three company product is best; he's a single guy with a girlfriend; he's got to deal with Michigan weather, and the sometimes fickle snow removal processes in The D. Here are some choices: Ford F-150 Robertson is on record as being a Taurus fan, and after a decade of walking I've no doubt that the big sedan would offer a cozy respite. Still, as a car guy and a student of the industry, I'd have a hard time recommending a sedan so clearly in need of replacement. Especially when The Blue Oval has such great stuff within the rest of its roster. The 2015 F-150 seems almost perfect for Robertson. Opting for either of the new EcoBoost V6 engines should help keep fuel bills in reasonable check, while healthy ride height and four-wheel drive will get him to work on time even during the snowiest of snow days. Better still, with a fat options sheet and car-like ride quality, Robertson can have just about every amenity he might want, in a package that won't disrespect his blue-collar roots. Chevrolet Colorado You guys saw this one coming, right? The smaller footprint of the midsize Chevy pickup, relative to some of the other options here, should be an advantage for urban parking and driving. And again, 4x4 is an option for the nasty weather, the running costs should stay pretty low and there aren't many tech/luxury features that can't be had in-cabin. I'd go ahead and splash out on the Crew Cab bodystyle, too, just in case Robertson feels like starting a carpool.
