You are looking at a beautiful1966 chevelle Resto-mod custom. I purchased the car out of Texas a few years ago as a gift for my wife. It is just as it was when I purchased. The only thing I changed was the oil and a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires.
This car has been completely gone thru by the previous owner. I have put this car on my lift and closely inspected all the running gear. The only thing I noticed was that one of the steering links is slightly rubbing on the custom aluminum oil pan. I took detailed pictures of the underside of the car. My wife only put a couple thousand miles on this vehicle in the last couple years. The dash gauges were replaced by the previous owner before I purchased the vehicle. The odometer reads 3713 miles. Which I am sure is not the original miles. I assume this reflects the mileage since the restomod. Seeing as how the whole driveline has been upgraded and replaced, I guess the 3700 miles is accurate. The vehicle runs and drives like a new car. I did a close inspection the other day and attempted to make note of everything that was upgraded and replaced by the previous owner. Someone spent some serious cash on parts for this restomod. Here is what I came up with for a list.

Drivetrain:

The engine is a late model LS-1 5.7L transplanted from a Corvette using a TurnKey LS conversion kit. It has a K&N cold air intake filter and is cooled by an AFCO aluminum racing radiator.
The transmission is a floor shifted 4 speed automatic with torque converter lockout.
The rear axle seems to be an LPW Ultimate60 series rear end with posi trac. Not sure of gearing, but it goes down the highway perfectly.
The rear axle has a disk brake conversion. The pads and rotors are in great shape.
The front brakes have been upgraded with a BAER big brake conversion. These pads and rotors are like new as well.

Suspension:

Air Ride Systems airbag suspension with compressor and tank mounted in the upper level area of the trunk(behind rear seat backs).
The front suspension consists of tubular upper and lower control arms with Firestone Airbags and Hotchkis steering links.
The rear suspension is also a tubular four link supplied by Strong Arm, and utilizes Firestone airbags as well.

Exhaust:

The Hooker ceramic coated Competition Plus Headers flow into a 2.5" Magnaflow exhaust system with balancing H pipe, the exhaust terminates out the side behind the rear wheels... just as it should.

Plumbing and Tanks:

All the lines on this car are either stainless steel hardline or stainless braided with A&N style anodized aluminum fittings.
The gas tank is a polished stainless steel. It appears the fuel pump is located inside the tank.
The radiator overflow catch tank is a polished aluminum.

Gauges/Stereo/Electrical:

It appears that the original wiring was replaced with a Painless Wiring Harness.
The stereo is an Ipod compatable CD player with 6X9 speakers in the back and 5" fronts mounted in custom enclosures down by the kick panel.
The entire dash panel which houses the gauges, has been replaced with a custom molded, unit with an aluminum appearance. This piece houses a complete Autometer Pro Comp white faced gauge cluster. Looks very clean and professional.
The Optima style Excide battery is located in the trunk with a disconnect switch mounted in the carpeted cover panel. I do not have the switch connected.

Wheels and Tires:

The wheels are 18" Boyd Coddington front and rear with brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires.
275/35 ZR18 Rear
225/40 ZR18 Front

I also have the original Yokahama performance tires which came with the car. They are in great condition I just always run Michelins on all my vehicles.

Interior/Exterior

The entire interior of this car has been redone. The seats, carpet, Doorcards and headliner are like new. The only thing i noticed is that the chrome striping on the door cards is peeling a little bit. I have seen this before on reproduction parts. Also, the headliner, while NEW, seems to have a little slack towards the rear window section of the car. Not bad, just wanted to give an honest description of the condition.
It looks like all the rubbers and seals have been replaced. Doors/windows/felts and trunk.
The original steering column has been replaced with a newer Tilt unit that has a Grant steering wheel attached.
If you open up the glove compartment door, you will notice the box has been deleted to make room for the aftermarket air conditioning system. The A/C blows ice cold.
There is storage in the center console which also houses a tick tock clock and smooth operating automatic shifter.

I peeled back a section of carpet and discovered that the floor has been completely Dynamated for sound deadening and thermal insulation.
The trunk has been completely carpeted with material that matches the interior of the car. Custom panels have been fabricated and carpeted to hide the battery and tail lights.

All the exterior bright work is beautiful, Bright Shiny and Straight.
The exterior of the car has been painted a beautiful metallic Blue. The paint looks "good" not great. I think a little more effort could have been given on the final sanding of the  bodywork. I am very picky, I am sure to most people it looks fantastic. I did notice a small section at the bottom of one of the front fenders had signs of small blisters. This car has been kept in a climate controlled garage whenever it's not being driven. I'm pretty sure my wife never even took it out in the rain.
The engine compartment is absolutely spotless. All wiring and hoses have been routed neatly and correctly to make for a nice clean presentation.
The car is badged as a 396SS. Which it is obviously not. I believe this car probably began life as a Malibu, This fact is reflected in the very reasonable reserve I have set.

I have done my best to give you an accurate description of this resto-mod Chevelle. Please look over the pictures and feel free to email me with any questions you may have.
Please don't bother bidding if you have less than 10 transactions without contact me first.
While shipping and or transport is your responsibility I would be happy to assist in any way possible.

Good luck bidding!

Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.

2016 Chevy Volt to make auto show debut this season

Wed, Jul 30 2014

Ever since we saw that spy shots of the 2016 Chevy Volt, we've been hungering for more information on the next-gen version of GM's green halo car. It appears we might not have long to wait, at least for an official tease. An inside source that wishes to remain anonymous told AutoblogGreen that GM will make two announcements regarding the second-gen Volt at the CAR Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, MI next week. The first, and most intriguing, is that that we will get our first glimpse of the new Volt at some point during the upcoming auto show season. That means either Los Angeles later this year or else Detroit, Chicago or New York in early 2015. The second bit of news is that GM will be moving production of the electric motors from Mexico to Michigan. Details and official confirmation are, of course, missing and Chevrolet declined comment to AutoblogGreen. We should know more next week.
