1977 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Classic, 2-Door hardtop, Dark red/white vinyl top, red interior, bench seats, 305 cu in, automatic, ps, pb, a/c, almost new tires. The car was purchased new by my parents. Both are deceased now with Mom passing this year and my Brother nor I want the car or want it around. Other than a road trip in the late 70's or early 80's the car was driven locally. The car was covered and garaged when not driven. It was rarely driven in the snow. My parents drove the pickup. The car did receive a dented rear quarter panel, years ago, which was straightened and repaired. Not sure which rear quarter. The dash has a spot low by the driver's door where Dad shut his cane in the door. The radio, original, does not work. Have not checked to see why. The trunk lid has a shallow dent due to hitting something above, one time, when the trunk was opened. The right front tire blewout, hence the new tires, slapping the fender and chrome trim a little. The A/C blows a very weak cool. The service writers at the local Chevrolet dealership said that as slow as the leak is to just get some R12 and charge it. I asked and they told me that it would run around $1,000.00 to switch the A/C to the R134. So I lowered the price from my original listing, $7,500.00, to the current price of $6,000.00. The service writers were impressed with the appearance and condition of the car when I had the oil changed and got a Missouri state vehicle inspection, The Missouri state vehicle inspection is required every time the license tags are renewed or ownership changes. I had the car transferred to me so I could sell it for my Brother and I. Also, the mileage is recorded every time a car is inspected.

GM files to trademark name Badlands
Mon, Feb 23 2015If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
This SEMA special drag race is absurdly awesome
Fri, Dec 5 2014The SEMA Show came and went last month, and it showed us a ton of heavily modded goodies to dream about during the long, cold winter. The Motor Trend Channel on YouTube is keeping the party rolling a little longer, though, with a drag race inspired by the aftermarket event. All of the hosts were supposed to borrow a vehicle from the show for the big race, but only two of them actually cajoled companies into lending their wares. Still, the result includes four very cool and extremely different examples of the breadth of the automotive hobby. First up, there's a 1955 Chevrolet with a 535-cubic-inch (8.8-liter) Hemi V8 stuffed under the hood. Appropriately, it's dubbed the Blasphemi, and with skinny tires up front, fat rubber in the rear and a stripped interior, this this is made to go very fast in a straight line. Next, there's a stock Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat boasting 707 horsepower. Plus, host Jessi Lang has her dog riding shotgun for the race. A Chevy Sonic RS with some body mods, downpipe and intake is also competing. Finally, the most bizarre of the quartet is a custom 1958 Jeep Forward Control with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and treads to replace the wheels. Obviously, the Blasphemi and Hellcat are the only two that really have a chance of winning, but check out the video to see which one crosses the finish line first.
